Twas waiting for this one. Yes, my favorite performance from Jayoung as well. And yes, the man in the video is the artist who originally wrote and recorded the song. Jayoung said she was intimidated and nervous when he showed up to the video shoot. But he gave his full encouragement and support. He said this song is a Rolling Quartz song now. There is an interview video available.

This is indeed a cover. Sanulrim (or Sanullim, or Sanwoollim) were a Korean band who debuted in 1977, consisting of three brothers, Kim Changwan, Changhoon, and Changik, and this is part of a (long-term) remake project to commemorate their upcoming (in four years) 50th anniversary. I assume it's put together by Changwan and Changhoon (Changik passed away in 2008), and they're approaching various current artists to cover their own songs, and when they asked Rolling Quartz, it seems Iree in particular really wanted to do Reminiscence. The audience member in the MV is Changhoon himself, who wrote the song, and he highly praised their interpretation. I recommend going back to the MV, and reading the pinned comment at the top; it gives a little "interview" on the girls' thoughts about the whole thing. 3:00 Absolutely _impeccable_ camera work! 😘👌 4:50 Yeah, my goosebumps kicked in about a minute into the song and never left... Jayoung does indeed have an _incredible_ set of pipes, and she _really_ knows how to use them... (she also knows how to teach other people to use theirs... 😜) I _think_ you've heard all their originals, but I think _most_ of those were in the Before Times, so I don't recall which ones you've done. _Original_ original songs consist of Blaze, Delight, Rock and Roll Paradise (of which there are multiple arrangements), Holler, Nazababara and now Fearless. There's also Higher, which is a cover _sort of,_ but I think I recall they rewrote it from an anime theme song...

Great cover! The vocals are awesome! The man in the chair is one of the original writers and on the original band, he's a legend in S Korea!

It’s a tribute to a Korean 70s rock band. The guy in the chair is the song writer, if I got it right - but he is from the band. But it’s important to know it’s a tribute, not a cover. There is a companion video, on making the video, where chair guy more or less says his version was a 4 but their version is a 5!

Those vocals can squeeze tears even if you don't know what's being said!

I really appreciate all and every good word in respect of of a K-Rock Band in the age of K-Pop Groups. Must admit, I had goosebumps and wet eyes checking this song out the first time. Kim Changhoon (the guy sitting in the middle of the recording studio) is one of the funding members of Sanullim, an iconic Korean rock band of the 70s. Regarding Reminiscence RQ was asked by Kim Changhoon to participate in the Sanullim 50th Anniversary Remake Project. They mutually selected Reminiscence, written by Kim Changhoon and do the cover. How far RQ would go to honor the original artist is absolutely evident in Reminiscence. I used to play several instruments in a rock band years ago and if my opinion has any credibility, RQ lifted the original Sanullim song in a totally different dimension. Here is the link to the original: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWWVnmaMZ8yhaLs, judge it yourself. Maybe I’m a bit biased when it comes to RQ, most likely tue to them being not Idol but Indy and I really appreciate pushing rock in the age of pop, especially in Korea. Thanks for reading my spill, cheers, Z
