KZbin swatch videos are how Roman Szmal became my first and still favorite watercolor paint brand. I'm glad they understand the value of this marketing and help some artist/creators along the way with free supplies. The paints speak for themselves but most of us in America wouldn't get exposure to them or get to see them perform any other way. Photos of paint swatches can only get you so far and you're always concerned about how accurate they are, especially when shopping online. But watch a few videos from different creators/cameras/lighting/etc and fall in love with the same paint repeatedly, you know you can add to cart without fear. I'm so grateful for the quality, beauty and affordability of these paints and for all of the videos showcasing them. Thank you for taking the time to share these with us. The worst thing about Roman Szmal paints is that you can fall so deeply in love with the colors and granulation that choosing a reasonable number of them that is within your budget can feel like a real "Sophie's Choice" kind of situation. 😅

Thank you so much! :) I really appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us 🧡 And I agree! With things like paints, a single image can't do the color justice. Footage helps, and then various sources of footage is ideal. Like you said, the different setups, lighting situations, painting styles all help in getting a better grasp of how a color looks in real life. And then, I feel like getting people to film the paints and share them on KZbin is the best way to get some good advertisement for them. I'm very grateful that Roman Szmal is choosing to send paints to creators to help "spread the word". (And yeah, they are very affordable but it's so hard to choose that the whole budget gets spent on these anyway XD )

Wow, Roman Szmal has got the goods with these colors! That PV42 is a stunner! All of them all, but my favorite is the Lava! Thank You Eve for sharing these colors. I will add a few of them to my growing Jackson's cart!

Oh my goodness, some of those colours are just so stunning.... I wasn't planning on buying any more watercolours this year, but I'm sorely tempted with some of these colours. Plus I love Roman Szmal, they are very affordable and have great quality

ohhhh, so tempting. The Camine hue really speaks to me as it's a color I rarely see in palettes and it could be lots of fun to play with. The Forest Green reminds me a lot of PG8 somehow. So lovely! Thank you for swatching :)

I'm so glad you were able to swatch these! I'd be really interested in comparisons with other similar colors, especially for the magentas and the browns. How do these compare to similar colors in Roman Szmal and other brands? Both the Quin Rose and the Quin Magenta are labeled PR N/A, and I'm very curious how different they are from other PV19 and PR122 quin roses/magentas.

That's a really good idea! I'm hosting a livestream today where I'll try to swatch and compare similar colors within the Roman Szmal range :) (I don't have all the RS colors but I have a significant amount and I should be able to compare some of them!)

I got the Quin Rose and it is a beautiful colour. I really like the Quin Pink and the Carmine Hue is very interesting. May try that out :)

Thank you for specifying which lapis this was. The Afghan one has been in the line for a while (notated as limited edition), so I already have it. People were talking about a new lapis, and I thought I missed it when I ordered the new set. And speaking of missing, you don't have the November 2024 color included! I've only played with PBk11 (which is VERY magnetic and a lot of fun!) and PRr11 (which moves but it less magnetic than PBk11 -- or at least DS Lunar Earth seemed less magnetic than DS Lunar Black). I imagine all the iron based pigments are to some degree, I'll have to play with my iron pigments someday :)

Burnt Sienna Brownish is the first earth tone that I have seen that actually, truely looks like you are painting with soil.

Hey, I have swatched many of those colors on arches paper and i have those white dots and it annoyes me so much. I actually thought my paper is bad. Do you know why this happens on arches? (not only on arches, but i found other CP papers that do not have that problem)

What on earth is happening with Arches… bad quality will dethrone them from the defacto paper. That aside, great video!
