Becky, Bravo with all of your research. I did not know Ds had change their trio colors. My Cabazole does granulate when is painted heavily. I did notice DS change a little their formulation because my old watercolors are super hard to rewet and all of my new DS watercolors from one year ago until now are super easy to rewet even when dry. Someone commented on one of my DS older videos where I was showing why I had fallen out of love with DS watercolors. So a year ago I bought a new 12 set from Jacksons and they were just great. This last month we had amazing deals of DS watercolors so I bought 3 different sets all with new colors I never try before and were just stunning. The half pan set of inspirational colors are as great as the tubes but more convenient. Your birds are always so pretty but this one is my favorite. Maria

@@greekveteran2715 it’s a lovely, somewhat earthy green that has different colours depending on how diluted it is. I would say that it’s more of a warm green. Hi, Becky! What a *glorious* painting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I slowed you right down cos wanted more time to enjoy what you were doing! 😄 I think your commentary on this video really, truly, absolutely reflects your love of bright colours and your Southern Hemisphere roots! 😄 For a landscape artist (in Europe and North América at least, though elsewhere around the world, too, those primary and granulating colours are absolute essentials for the palette, as are the secondaries for creating those beautiful muted shades for shadows and the zillion colours needed for the different seasons. I discovered problems with my 'normal (Winsor and Newton) 'palette the first time we travelled outside Northern Europe, and once back home, spent some time working out how to mix those Mediterranean colours - I had to swap out one colour for Permanent Rose as nothing else would do for that beautiful, clear, bluish-red bougainvillea, and to mix with French Ultra for the rest!!! And of course, now in SW France, for the first time, discovering the need for a couple or three _new_ colours (as I think I may have mentioned 'once or twice' before! 😄)
