Screaming crying that you mentioned me!! 😮 so refreshing to hear you say how grateful you are to have the time to dedicate to your heath because not many people get it! Thanks for mentioning me and acknowledging my mention of you! You have become one of my favs to watch!!

Really appreciate your comments on health journeys and busy schedules. The only time I have successfully lost weight was during the pandemic when I had nothing else to do during the day (I was a student at the time so not working). I’ve gained all that weight back and then some. Your journey has been really inspiring for me. I’m still trying to figure out how to incorporate exercise into my life especially but it’s don’t think I’d even be forcing myself to think about it and try to figure any of it out if I wasn’t seeing you do this every week. I still need to actually start (always the hardest part for me for various mental health related reasons - though that’s not an excuse), but my point is your content is helping even if your situation is different than mine and can sometimes make me a little frustrated about my own situation.

Crazy Rich Asians is a VERY rare example of the movie being way better than the book. If you haven’t seen, HIGHLY recommend

Girl, you look so good! The hair is giving. I’ve been around for many hair changes and this is my favourite, it matches your eyes in the most aesthetic way possible 🤷🏼♀️🤣

People hate on Half Baked Harvest because many recipe creators have called her out for basically stealing recipes. There also is a bunch of stuff about how she treats her staff or does interviews. And there was a story about her family swapping out an adoptive brother? Giving him the same name? I’m not sure but there’s like many many tik tok series dedicated to her and generally she just gives me the ick now

Wicked Lovely was my favourite series when it was coming out! I still think they're some of my favourite covers of all time so I'm glad I never got rid of my copies. I haven't heard great things about Melissa Marr's other work which sucks because I remember that series so fondly.

I saw a meme yesterday about, "Imagine hating me and I'm just over here sharing a cheesestick with my cat." I don't really have haters (save a few random men on the internet upset that bears are more appealing than they are), but...I felt that. 😅 Sometimes life is slow, but as long as I like how those days look... *gives the tortie a piece of cheese*

Yes! Weight stigma is so real and perpetuated in so many areas of our lives ofc in medical fields, diet/wellness industries, schools, etc...! If you are interested in learning about it further, I would highly recommend reading "Anti-Diet" by Christi Harrison, "Health at Every Size" by Lindo Bacon, and the "Body of the Truth" by Harriet Brown. I also like More Than A Body, Reclaiming Body Trust, the Body Is Not an Apology, and the Fuck It Diet!

i’ve done some research into anti- diet culture stuff, listened to christy’s podcast for a while. i think some of it goes a little far in a direction i don’t resonate with but there’s definitely some good stuff there

Commenting again to ask a question - do you have any tips for getting started with weight training? It’s something I’m really interested in but I’ve never done it before and I’m really intimidated by trying to figure out a routine and how to structure workouts. Not sure if you have any resources or anything but i figured I’d ask
@chan_ainsley4 ай бұрын
yes i have tips! for putting together a routine i really recommend stephanie buttermore’s beginners program. she has a ton of different options (like if you wanna work out 3 days a week or 5 days a week). great thing about hers if that it’s a pdf with imbedded links to her doing each exercise. and the lifts themselves are science backed and effective (a lot of ppl online will have you doing silly stuff lol)
@chan_ainsley4 ай бұрын
as for getting comfy and confident, i watched a TON of youtube vids before going for the first time tbh. same ladies i mentioned before but also jeff nippard. for me, watching people do the exercises a bunch had me feeling like i could do it myself. i will talk about this in next week’s vlog tho too! :)

I was one of those people who picked up Remedial Magic based on marketing as a wtichy sapphic romance and ended up DNF'ing it. IDK what they were thinking trying to market it that way.
