I have thin, bendy nails and I've been using the MG builder gels or Kiara Sky full tip extension kit. They both work pretty well for me. I got a bottle of this MG rubber gel and wow my mani lasted much much longer! It's definitely a match for me and my nails type. I'm going to try it on my Mom since her nails are weak and flaky (she's also really rough on them lol). I remember there being a pretty big heat spike, too, but I think it's worth it. And again...I wish they released these in pots! That big-ass bottle brush is the worst for my tiny nails haha! I'm going to use your method of using a detail brush or I might just empty it into a pot. Great video, as always!

I love rubber base gels they are so nice! I use the rubber basecoat because it protects my natural nail so so good especially when I use the peel off basecoat too:)

Luv the videos. Maybe you should try using it as base coat cure it and then do the slip layer then build it up maybe that will help, just a thought

It may help a tiny bit but you are gonna still get that heat spike. For me I would rather save the time and just go for the burn 🔥🙃😂

I use them quite a bit and they wear very well, much longer than just a regular gel base. And I think they do have a clear now but I can't remember what it is called.

They seem to self level pretty quickly, I use MG and The Gel bottle so I’m going to try this rubber base and see if I like it as well as TGB.

I'm not sure, it's not intended for that, and I alway try to (for the most part) stay with all of the same brand or system when doing something like that. You could always try tho and if it works it works 😊

@@GelsNGemsNails Hey, thanks. I generally agree about sticking with one system; some products do play well together, such as Madam Glam and Wildflowers Nail Shop. The web page says, "This base can be used as a base coat for any material." I expect it would be fine under MG polygel. I'll give it a go with the full coverage tips & the builder gel they use.

So I have been using builder gel for months and just do fill ins. I don't soak off color at all, only file. Do you think you have to soak these off? I have thin and brittle natural nails so the builder gel is great for strength which is why I learned how to do my nails in the first place. Do you think you could file the color off of this like builder gel? Or just keep filling it in and leaving it? Thoughts? (also, I love my mini doxie so much. I know how that feels. He is the best.)

Yes, if you do it with a structured manicure way and not just a super thin base, I would just file the color odd and do a fill in. You can also file off the color doing it as a thin base but you just want to be super careful not to file into your natural nail. With the base really thin it's easier to file a bit too much and hit the natural nail. Hope that helps!

@@GelsNGemsNails Question: When I do my nails I do nail prep, dehydrator, base coat, builder gel, base coat, two coats of color, top coat. Do I need a base coat between builder gel and color? I wonder if I am using too much. Thanks!

@@tarapreston4143 no you do not need base between the builder and color. Just bas on the natural nail. And feel free to ask as many questions as you need 😊 I'm trying to get my 2nd video uploaded right now and hopefully that will help answer more questions. If you’re not building an extension how would you choose between this and the builder gels? Which is better?

Great question! For me, I like this better because it more self leveling and thinner so easier to work with for a simple overlay. But you can absolutely use the builder the same way. I think it's personal preference in viscosity (thicknesses)

They are sticky after curing. Is that normal? Then you said something about taking off the sticky layer; how did you do that?

yes, they are sticky after curing, that is normal. You do not have to remove it if you are just going straight on with polish but if you find you need to do a little filing then you need to remove it, for that you just use rubbing alcohol.

Nope. Not at all. The colors are there to help camouflage any imperfections and also so you can just wear them on their own if wanted to.

Yes. With the builder gel you can extend the nail. And this one is a good bit thinner, self levels better and I think easier to work with.

With this you can do a much thinner layer and it won't crack like a builder gel will. Some people need a thicker builder gel and some just need a thin layer or maybe just prefer it thinner. But this product is more flexible and not as ridged as builder. Hope that helps! 😊
