(New) Rugrats Season 2 DVD Unboxing

Here's an unboxing of the Rugrats Season 2 on DVD. This is the modern remake of the show.

Considering that the Rugrats reboot is no longer available on its original home of Paramount+, it’s a miracle we got another DVD release of it. This set even includes five episodes of the series that were never added to the service before they removed it! There’s apparently a third season of Rugrats 2021 in production despite Paramount+ purging the series; I wonder where that’s going to go. (Fingers crossed it too gets a DVD release.) The reason why there is no slipcover is because this DVD set is not a wide retail release like the two Season 1 volumes were; it comes from Paramount’s new MOD service who put out the recent Loud House Christmas Collection DVD.

I don't get why Rugrats 2021 and The Fairly OddParents are back to MOD/online only releases when we've criticized their decision to do online only DVD releases before. Looks like they didn't listen.

@ they’re trying to source out their shows to other services because that’s how they make more money. It’s weird to me too on a certain level as well.

Nice that they released this in one season set. I have a feeling they’ll do the same with the SpongeBob spinoffs especially since those later seasons have fewer episodes.

I wish Rugrats (2021) could get Seasons 4-9 much like the original. They should put the reboot on either Netflix or Pluto TV since it's not on Paramount Plus anymore.

Releasing the second season of Rugrats (2021) on DVD is the least Paramount can do after removing the series from Paramount+. I know a third and final season is planned, as it's what the Season 2 finale seems to be leading up to (I won't spoil too much for those who haven't seen it yet), but I feel it will most likely be released direct-to-DVD the way the last few episodes of Season 2 will.

I’ve seen promos and I’ve heard some negative things about the show. I couldn’t get to watch it before it was removed because I really wasn’t fond of it or was interested in it compared to some of the recent Nick shows.

@@christophermoore5007 I had a feeling someone was going to bring that up. Because those shows are held in high regard and one them is actually produced high-definition. Most of the other Nickelodeon cartoons are not released on Blu-ray officially though. For starters, Catscratch turns 20 years old this year and still no complete series DVD/Blu-ray for that show anywhere in sight.

I honestly didn’t even know there was a reboot. Ironically I recently got the original complete series & the movie trilogy on dvd from Amazon recently. Had no idea that there was a remake or when this was even made

I bet everyone’s starting to get these Cartoon Network & Nickelodeon series after MAX & Paramount+ recently took off a huge selection of animated titles. The classics like Doug, Static Shock & so many more. I thought it was weird when I heard about MAX doing it the last week of December & then I heard paramount + did it immediately after, like last week. It was so weird. I’m glad that I don’t have either services anyways, so I already have most of these shows. It’s a good thing I don’t need MAX since Warner bros puts most of their original max series & their hbo series on dvd like succession, the white lotus, Harley Quinn, young Justice, the last of us & even penguin this month. Same with paramount + with knuckles & all the Star Trek & transforms series. I’m glad some companies still believe in physical media. I don’t want it to ever go away

BBC Studios Home Entertainment releases their animated recreated Doctor Who episodes that were wiped from the BBC archives from fan recordings and releases them on both DVD and Blu-ray. What I'm hoping for what BBC Studios Home Entertainment is to release Wallace & Gromit Vengence Most Fowl on Blu-ray.

I agree the original show IS better. I didn't like what they did with Betty in this one in changing her sexual orientation just to fit a narrative that Hollywood's been forcing into nearly everything lately that I don't subscribe to (I subscribe to Jesus). I also wish they'd gotten the original adult cast back or at least soundalikes for the ones that have passed away. I gave it a chance and did watch some episodes, but at the end of the day it's for some and not for some. It's not for me even though I was hoping it would be just like the old series. I love the original series and have that DVD set and the movie trilogy on blu-ray so for that I'm grateful.
