Looks like you were able to get some good items that you all needed! I love seeing the different packaging and names for items you have! I truly truly plan to take my entire family to Australia just once! I can’t wait! Perhaps in a couple years! My oldest son is so drawn to your country and always has been! God bless you all! It’s lovely getting meal ideas from you!

I feel for larger families, it's a struggle being limited to 2 items, if you can find it at all. I shop for my elderly mum in a retirement village that no longer drives, so she can't get to the shops and of course the village bus isn't running. I can usually shop within 30 minutes. It's amazing what I have found in my freezer. I have got quite creative with meals. I have always had back up supply of SR and plain flour in the freezer. Have just cracked open the last of that. I did get a 9 pack of toilet paper. I didn't need it and as it turns out neither did mum or my aunty so I was able to pass that on to a work mate that was desperate.

Just want to say thank you for being such a beautiful soul and passing on what you didn't need to someone who did. if everyone did this, there would be no issues with the grocery supplies and everyones needs would be taken care of. God bless.

As an Aussie living in the US I like watching your grocery buying videos to hear Aussie food terms, seeing the Coles name and seeing Aussie food items. Somehow it helps me feel connected to Australia. When I went shopping a day ago I was lucky to find some thin slices of sirloin tip steak so I can make an Aussie steak sandwich. Whilst steak sandwiches are sold here they are totally different from a fish and chip shop steak sandwich. I hope you find/found some ice cream.

yes I found ice-cream at woolies and it was on special so that was lucky. Ahh yes a good steak sandwich is the best - steak, onion, tomato, beetroot, pickles and sauce is buttery fried bread. Mmmmm, making me hungry ;-) Hope it doesn't make you too homesick for OZ

So glad you guys were able to get a good shop done and luckily, some restrictions lifted. I was struggling with a small family so couldn’t even imagine what it must be like for your size family. You guys are awesome! Your daughter is so good to help you and partake in your videos which is a sign you’ve done your job well💕 As for the Lipton Iced Tea, yeah my teen daughters discovered the mango ones and luckily have been half price a bit lately and on the shelf😂 Would love to see some cook with me or recipe videos. I admire what you can achieve with a large family xoxo

We have never had hot cross buns! They look good! Your “pegs” we call “clothes pins” What an amazing idea to use them for forts! Thanks! I have never heard that Kleenex actually made rolls of toilet paper! Awesome! They only make the small wipes here that you use for your nose. We LOVE Nutella Sandwiches here! Yum! Thanks for sharing! Don't worry you're not missing anything with the Kleenex toilet rolls, they're crap, much like the nose wipes. Lol Hot cross buns are soooo good, and so popular in Australia that they come in many flavours now, there's original Fruited, original no fruit, choc chip, chocolote, caramel and mocha are a few. In the olden days when Australia used the wooden clothes pegs they were sometimes called pins too but when the plastic ones were invented, pegs, pretty much became the main word for them, but it depends where you're from, I've heard both said here

Surprisingly, we buy the same basic items when we go food shopping, from Alabama to Australia, we are so much alike. Different brands and less amounts of course. Our children flew the coop many years ago, we are two retirees. I love those roasted chickens from the grocery deli, we get three meals out of one, then I simmer the bones with celery, carrots and onion for soup broth for yet another day. I will be glad when our social isolation is over and life gets back to normal. Best wishes and God Bless!

I was so over shopping and thinking about food and running out all the time that I ended up making lists and spreading my shopping between the 2 wollies in town and the 2 coles 2 aldis and our smaller local igas and food works fruit shops and butchers. It took me all day but I managed to do our large family shopping for about 4 weeks with just some milk and bread top ups from the local food works in between.

I love to see the different foods available in your country. I live in USA. We order groceries from Walmart and drive by for pickup. They put them in your car with no contact. You have to schedule a time. Five days ago I got an appointment for Monday morning between 7-8. It was the first available. Kids are excited to be getting treats. Never heard of green milk. What flavor is it? Love your family!!

We have that in Australia we call it click and collect, it has been suspended over the last few weeks as it was overwhelmed when the panic buying started. They have brought it back but it and delivery are only for priority shopper or those collecting for priority shoppers ie elderly, disabled, those with or who have been exposed to covid and the immune compromised.

I live in Alabama (Southern U.S.), and we have a limit of one or two items on most essentials. We only have a family of four, but I had to go to four stores to get everything we needed. Our grocery prices have also gone up. Normally I would spend around $300 for two weeks, but because prices are up due to supply and demand issues, I’m now spending closer to $500.

Hi Jeni, I think you did well at Coles didn’t know about the thirty minute shop time though even I, only shopping for myself, would not have made in and out in thirty mins. Nice to know not too many restrictions especially on meat and who would have thought TP would have been like gold to get lol! I’m shopping online between Coles and Woolworths and getting most things but still a few restrictions/substitutes but have been trying to order Yeast for weeks now without any success. I do find I can ordered more meat from Coles though and usually packed in smaller portions, without having to repackage into small freezer bags, which is good when you live on your own. However, normally buy bulk meat but not chancing going out just now so Coles it is. Continue to stay safe and well and let’s pray we can get over this a Virus soon🙏❤️

I am so tired of grocery store is not having everything on my list. I am lucky enough that I have friends who go to the shop and I give them a list of things that we need and I'll pick whatever they can find and drop them off here and I e-transfer them as we don't drive and my normal ride is being isolated due to being a senior and health issues. all the stores around here have toilet paper not usually always the big ones they're usually sold out quicker even Costco has toilet paper but it usually runs out by about noon. Stay safe lots of love from Kanata Ontario Canada

Good haul! We are in Ireland and have to queue for 20- 45 minutes to get into our supermarkets. We are lucky that we dont really have any shortages and the only thing that I have seen that has limits is hand soap and that is 2 per person. Rice and pasta used to be hard to find but not anymore. Hopefully the measures work and the lockdown will end soon! Thanks your your video! Always very entertaining:)

I did shopping yesterday at colse. And they made me pack my own. Was so stupid . They pick up the product, scan the product. Put it where they normally put bags, then I had to put them in bags. Took forever. I had to wait 15mins to just get to the check out
@missnobby86
@missnobby86 4 жыл бұрын
Crystal Currie it’s so they don’t touch your bags. They can show you that they are using hand sanitiser between customers but you can’t prove that you’ve disinfected your bags. These amazing essential workers in grocery stores deserve the highest amount of safety and if it adds 15 mins to your day I think that is very little to ask for and you might need to reassess your empathy for others at this time.
@rubyred3580
@rubyred3580 4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow so STUPID of grocery store workers to want to avoid infection as much as possible. I can't believe how STUPID it is that people don't want to risk their lives to put away my groceries!! People are DYING everywhere and you're mad that you had to spend an extra fifteen minutes picking up your shit and putting it in bags? Get over it. They're risking themselves enough as it is just working in those stores, it's much higher risk of infection than in an office or something, where you can control the amount of people who come in and out. Maybe think outside of yourself for two seconds and understand that this is a life or death situation and there are more important things at stake than satisfying your entitlement.
@TheBonellFamily
@TheBonellFamily 4 жыл бұрын
@@rubyred3580 I don't believe that she was being 'entitled' at all. After just having all the single use bags banned and being strongly 'encouraged/told' to bring our own bags from home, it is quite inconvenient to be packing them ourselves but I do understand it's from a safety prospective. Perhaps whether it's in a grocery store, on the street or even online, we were all a little bit kinder to each other, then some of the frustrations would be easier to handle ;-)
@rubyred3580
@rubyred3580 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheBonellFamily I understand that perspective but I disagree. She didn't say, "I get that this is a safety measure but it's still frustrating" which I would understand. She straight up said that it was stupid, implying that she doesn't think they should be allowed this safety measure. At this point in time, I think this attitude is inexcusable. The fact that someone can unironically begrudge a grocery store worker, who is usually barely being paid a living wage for already risking their lives as it is, basic safety measures during a global pandemic at the price of having to take an extra fifteen minutes out of their day is absolutely disgusting.
@rubyred3580
@rubyred3580 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheBonellFamily And yeah, single use bags are banned. That is a very minor inconvenience. Personally I don't understand how people weren't already making a habit of using reusable bags, considering that it is an incredibly easy way to make an environmental difference, but I digress. We're all making sacrifices; having to *bag your own groceries* is probably one of the most negligible things that people are being asked to do. I understand complaining about it, but I do not understand saying that it's stupid and honestly thinking that the inconvenience of bagging your own groceries trumps *basic safety precautions* for grocery store workers. That is revolting.

I am so with you on being so over all this! Not in any ways of uncaring about people... just the system doesn’t WORK for families like ours. Today we got an 18 pack of toilet paper at Target and I was thinking.. ok so this won’t last long at all! Lol 😂 Then only one item at Sams Club... one very large bag is one meal if we’re lucky! We might have to send in the oldest son, Husband and all do different purchases, otherwise it’s a trip every other day to the store! I’m so glad it wasn’t so bad for you all this time! It’s hit and miss for us at times! We can’t hardly find corn tortillas which are a HUGE staple for us as were gluten free! So we keep saying “what’s the deal with everyone wanting corn tortillas?” Everyone else gluten free too? Lol 😂

Just a thought, hope its useful. X

@@Blessedbears organic care thats the brand name here in australia. The entire brand its not a certain scent or whatever either. Theyre aware of it too yet theyve done nothing and will actively ignore people and delete or block them so they cant comment on their pages etc. Its the one she showed in the video. Its basically the cheapest 'natural' generic brand you can get at most places so its pretty common. I use to use it as a student and my earlh twenties. I have hip length hair and always had a lot of thin hair so it appears verh thick and volumous never had issues with my hair before and using organic care made me lose so much of it and damaged the hair that was left and took a year after i stopped using it before my hair was somewhat normal again and i had to do heaps of oil treatments and basically only wash mg hair every 3 days or more because my hair was so fragile like and i never used heat on my hair and its natural no dye or anything like my nickname was rapunzel my hairs always been super nice without trying grows well is shiny healthy etc so like it was super obvious for me after a month of using organic care hair i noticed and i figured maybe it was a phase of my hair or change in enevironment etc so i stopped and used basic herbal essence stuff and my hair wasnt improved but it did stop getting worse and then idk why but like a year later i tried a different sort of the same brand thinking the original one was too harsh or something idk it mightve been on sale or already at my grandmas who i moved in with either way i used it thinking it was a fluke the first time but nope happened again handfuls of hair like mh hair so so loose just brushing it i got handfuls and then usually if you brush i before a shower then theres no loose hair that ends up in the drain but when id spread the conditioner through and gently massage it or finger comb loosely id still have chunks of hair it got so bad that my scalp began getting sores on it like bloody scab type sores i couldnt even brush my hair my scalp physically hurt like it was sunburnt. Just honestly stay away from organic care its evil that and aunt kaths brand the kind thag do the fridge sausage rolls of cookie dough theyre really unsanitary.

Gosh, thats awful to hear you had a bad reaction to that shampoo brand. We have all used it for years with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Maybe some people it's ok for and for others, they react to it.

It comes in 2L and 1L and 600ml I think as well. Just most families buy 3L as it is more economical than the other sizes.

🧐IF we ever come into this situation again, with the size of your family take a couple of kiddos and each gets a buggy and when a limited item appears that you need, put one in each buggy and let them go through the line with their own items after you...there's nothing to deny anyone's purchases or how or who pays for them because it's like you paying for an others items when on separate transactions 😉👍

I think overall maybe a little higher with the budget just due to having to buy the branded items. But then I guess I'm also saving a bit too because you go to the store and pretty much stick to your list and don't impulse buy quite as much. So I'm hoping it will all even out in the end ;-)

Honestly, I’ve been spending less for food that lasts longer. I bulk buy my meat+poultry and cheese (I freeze it until I use it), but buy the rest by every 2 weeks. I only have to go for bread, fresh fruit, and milk. It saves me money this way, because I ration it out, and have left overs for other days.
