@@jonathanbaldwin6876, zero issues with the tires. They are very high rated (load range F I believe) to handle the rig fully loaded, and I make sure to keep them fully inflated to handle the load. Good vid. I have a 2018 Jayco 25R and love the floor plan. Am a bit envious of the front windshield, though I'd be really upset about that shade! Noticed that not only did they label your dump valves wrong, they also mislabeled your water inputs. The potable (potable ;) Matt!) water is supposed to be on the top, that's why the potable sticker is to the right of the port, black tank flush on the bottom and label to the right of that port. I too replaced the cheapo fan in the bathroom with the Hengs vortex. Also finally got around to putting a Maxxair Fan in the bedroom vent, what a difference especially if you boondock at all. Again, good video. Good luck with the rig!
@TheBlockPartyRV3 жыл бұрын
Nice, thanks for the comments - where did they/you pull in the power for the fan over the bed? I was looking at doing that upgrade but was not sure how difficult it would be to find power up there. You are correct on the decals, the black flush is on top and the fill is on the bottom. Happy Camping !!
@HomerJayRi3 жыл бұрын
@@TheBlockPartyRV Power for the fan was why it took me so long (3 years) to get it done. Initially was looking to tap into bathroom fan but there was no clear way to get it to the new fan without being surface mount and I didn't want that. Finally decided on tapping power from the under cabinet lights in the bedroom. Up through the cabinet then across the ceiling. Only holes I drilled were inside the cabinet. Took some time to "drill" a channel in the Styrofoam from the vent > puck light > cabinet, only used a long narrow screwdriver instead of drill. Maxxair fan is SUPER quiet! Way quieter than the Hengs I put in the bathroom.

Honestly I am surprised you did not have more factory build issues. We bought a new Class A Fleetwood Bounder in May of 2021 and we have spent 5 months getting the various issues fixed. And Fleetwood is not a crappy brand, it is actually an top tier brand. Now Fleetwood has been great making the dealers fix the RV but it has taken a long time. With the current demand for RV's I understand a drop in QC from the Factory but the dealer has an obligation to do a proper PDI of each unit and ours clearly did not. Happy for you on yours.

Thanks for the watch and the comments, we actually were looking at a Fleetwood 29 class A and the dealer salesperson we had become pretty close to - she pretty much “hinted” and steered us away from both them and Thor and cited a lot of build/warranty issues she had seen at the dealership. Thank you for making this video. I have been doing a lot of research on Class C's and so far it's been a debate between Entegra and Winnebago. Hoping to get one for 2022, and so far really liking what the Odyssey brings to the table. I will want to install solar panels, lithium batteries, and a pepwave router with antenna. I really like that you showed where the batteries are. I do like to Boondock and one thing that the Odyssey doesn't really have at stock vs. the Winnebago View/Navion seems to be solar?
@TheBlockPartyRV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments, It is prepped for solar, the solar plugs are already on the roof, and the right front outside storage bin has the wiring to install the controller, should be a Very easy install. We liked the Winnebago products too, but in general you just got more bang for your buck with Entegra, and the extra year of warranty - is a Huge benefit and peace of mind !! All that said, if the Winnebago checks more boxes for your needs, then it might be the better choice - good luck in making your decision.

@@TheBlockPartyRV That's great to hear, thanks for responding. If you don't mind I just have a few questions since this is the same unit I am looking to get. How does the Ford drive? Is it fairly easy to maneuver the Odyssey into parking lots (grocery stores, laundromats, gas stations, .etc)? And do you ever have to worry about bottoming the coach out? Just wondering if I should just get the 29 foot or try for something around 25 instead. Thank you kindly.
@TheBlockPartyRV3 жыл бұрын
@@MP-ny2ek it drives easy, my wife drives it all the time and parking in a grocery store parking lot or most gas stations has not been an issue at all. The 25 is really 28’ and the 29’s are I think 31’ so length is not that different - but it is the wheelbase - that is a lot longer (tires way further spread apart), so turning is not nearly as nimble on the 29’s as it is on the 25r. We had a 24’ Pontoon with a 3/4 ton Dodge and this rig is 5x easier to drive than that setup was. I have had the hitch drag once or twice coming out of a very steep driveway, but nothing got damaged, and it is pretty rare. We learned if you come out on an angle = no hitch drag. Ultimately Just sit in them, hang out, test drive them, and you will be able to “feel” which one is the right fit for you. You are doing the right thing - asking great questions, and vetting the units - that will pay off big time ! Let me know when you get one !!

Your Bluetti AC50S with a full charge should run the TV at 25 watts for 17 hours. The Milwaukee M18 High Output HD 12.0 with full charge should go a bit over 7 hours. This assumes they are new but the actual time will decline as they age. Given that the Bluetti is rated at 500 Watt Hours, you can use about 85% of that and the TV pulls 25 watts: 500 X .85 / 25 = 17. The Milwaukee is rated at 216WH: 216 X .85 / 25 = 7.344.

Wow, I like the way how your review flows... I'm not done watching but I thought I'll start on this before I forget. Regarding the thermostat that is hidden when the slide is in, can that be relocated without going back to the dealer or some shop? I would imagine the wiring can be extended if need be to reach the new location. As far as the air valve for the rear tires, all of a sudden I thought of the long tube air valve used on big rigs. Can that be replaced so it would come out thru the rim hole to make it easier to deflate or inflate? great review!
@TheBlockPartyRV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments, we basically just took a photo of the thermostat on our phones and just reach in there now to turn on the heat or air when needed. One option is to drill through the wall and just put it on the other side of the wall which is in the restroom. You are correct the fix in the tires is just a valve stem extension. I’m going to do a follow up video with the viewer suggestions soon ! Thanks again for watching !!

Great video. But how does it ride? Air bags on the rear axle, larger sway bars (Helwig), Bilstein shocks and a steering stabilizer/shock seem to be things that people are installing (or standard on Coachmen Freelander). The ride issue may not be a concern when riding is in the front seat, but at the the dinette. (I rode on a dinette in a Sprinter Class C once, and it rolled like a boat in the ocean).
@TheBlockPartyRV2 жыл бұрын
To me it rides great, it’s not a luxury Cadillac, but it is far less noisy and is less “rough” riding than my friends Coachman Freelander. Entegra has added some stuff so the ride is good, no swaying or rolling unless you have some severe gusty side winds. Will those upgrades you mentioned help? I am sure they will, but are they needed ? To me - I personally don’t think so. Thanks for watching and sharing in the comments.

Thanks for watching and the comments. Considering how many things there are that can go wrong on a motor home, We are satisfied with the few issues we have had so far, we did not pay “top dollar” for a real high end rig, so we did not expect a real high end product completely free of flaws or defects. Overall it has been a really good experience for us and much easier to own and maintain than when we owned a pontoon boat (as far as towing, parking, navigating gas stations, cleaning, motor maintenance, etc.). If there is anything I didn’t cover that you wanted to see let me know, I am making a follow up video answering questions from viewers.

Thank you for all the effort you put into giving clear honest information. We have been looking at moving from our travel trailer to the 25R. Do you run your onboard generator to power the AC while traveling? We are in hot climate territory and I haven’t been able to find much on the forums and KZbin on road travel for both the AC and refrigerator use.

Thanks for the video. My wife and I are looking at this exact MH. One question. Why not find a 12v power source that runs off of the engine alternator and use it to power an inverter for the TV? I love the portable power systems, but just thinking of options.
@TheBlockPartyRV3 жыл бұрын
Yep - I agree that would be good, but there isn’t really any good 12 volt sources in the Motorhome without actually wiring something. I agree even having just one 12v plug in the bedroom area (to run a cPap off of) would have been best - and most other mfr’s do have that. On this model - there isn’t any 12volt outlets (anywhere). The Bluetti though can both charge and run at the same time, so we have plugged it into the cig lighter while driving (to charge), but have had it at the same time run a laptop and such as well - so it works kind of like a battery backup inverter. Thanks for the comments !

Great video. This is the RV I have been looking at since I saw it on Matt’s review. The thing I’m concerned about is trying to get a good price when there are so few of them and virtually everything is overpriced now. What kind of deal were you able to get and were you able to talk the salesperson down at all? Thanks!
@TheBlockPartyRV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the nice comments, glad you enjoyed the review, The price listed on the unit at the RV show in Phoenix, when it pulled up was $86,400. 3 other people were interested, but we saw it first so we had first dibs - we pulled the trigger, the MSRP was $119,000, it had upgraded levelers and partial paint and the theater seats. I believed we really scored a deal as I have received a call from the dealer offering me $100,000 to sell it back to them a few months ago.

A black tank flush opening placed over the fresh tank opening is not a sanitary design. Untreated water at dump stations will drip down over the fresh water opening.

Why doesn’t this Rv have a built in inverter?
@TheBlockPartyRV2 ай бұрын
@@gary9080, it did not come with solar, and most things in the rig including the fridge are either 12 volt - or propane, so there was no factory power inverter in the rig. When I want 110 power or A/C - I have to plug into shore power - or fire up the generator - that said - NEXT video is me installing a whole house inverter and battery system that can even run the A/C for a number of hours !!! Stay tuned !!!

Do you town a car or take Uber when you get to camp rtc?
@TheBlockPartyRV Жыл бұрын
We have done both. On our trip to Florida we did not use a tow behind so we used Uber in both Memphis and New Orleans. We did just purchase a new Jeep Rubicon, so we will be setting that up to tow behind our rig in the future. Thanks for watching !!

I’m thinking about getting an motorhome but it has to be 4WD and insulated for year round living. Any suggestions?
@TheBlockPartyRV2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, You are Probably going to have to look at some Higher end Super C’s, Thor and others make some small 4WD B+ models on the Ford Transit chassis but I doubt if they are going to be a true 4 season rig. The super C’s are really awesome - but very pricey. Good luck in your search !!
@metalman692012 жыл бұрын
I am looking for the same thing as you so I was wondering did you have any luck in your search finding a 4 x 4 or one that was Four Season ready? I do know that Quigley 4 x 4 conversions will convert a Class C motorhome to four-wheel drive. It is about $10,000 to $14,000 from what I am able to figure out but it seems like they have a good reputation and use quality original parts.

Why don’t you use the generator while driving
@TheBlockPartyRV3 жыл бұрын
We do use the generator when we need the extra AC, but at $5 a gallon gas in California and 1/2 gallon per hour use in the generator, it gets expensive quick, but you are right - it’s one option. Thanks for watching and commenting !

Is that a Chevy engine?
@TheBlockPartyRV Жыл бұрын
The engine is Fords New 7.4 liter naturally aspirated gas engine, AKA “GODZILLA”. So far great motor, huge torque and power but decent mileage compared to the old Ford V10 that only got 6-8 mpg. Thanks for watching !
@prepperboss Жыл бұрын
@@TheBlockPartyRV did you have a V-10?
@TheBlockPartyRV Жыл бұрын
@@prepperboss, I have driven a lot of the old Ford V10’s in a lot of equipment at the construction company I used to work at, like most of the Fords back then we had a ton of issues with them blowing the spark plugs out of the heads, same as the Ford 5.4. I think that issue was finally corrected by Ford, but the motor for a 10 cylinder it just didn’t breathe real well, and it only produced maybe 375 foot pounds of torque - in comparison my new 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder Jeep Wrangler 4XE Electric hybrid produces the same 375 foot pounds of torque. The new Godzilla is like 475 foot pounds, so other than a diesel, it’s a real good choice for hauling a lot of weight. If you watch my other video of the Coachman review, there is a Chevy V8 in that rig, and the owner said he gets like 7.5 mpg, and it’s a real small 22 foot rig.
@prepperboss Жыл бұрын
@@TheBlockPartyRV but 6-8 on a V-10 is that really the industry average?
@TheBlockPartyRV Жыл бұрын
@@prepperboss, ya, unfortunately those older style V8’s and the Ford V10 pulling really heavy loads mostly all got less than 10 mpg, but the newer overhead valve engines seem to do a bit better, but that’s why so many people get Diesel’s where you can usually get 12-15 mpg or so.

Just wait, it’s just like buying a car, it’s goes down. I bought a rv ,new, it worked good for the first few years. Then it starts going down, unless you can put it a warehouse it’s a sh1t show.
@TheBlockPartyRV Жыл бұрын
Actually, due to inflation this rig new is now $150,000 msrp, so I can still likely almost get what I paid for it a couple of years later ($86,400). And I knew stuff would break and require regular maintenance, but I own old classic cars so I am the type of guy who doesn’t mind a few things breaking and such here and there. But if a person is the type of person who isn’t very hands & DIY and can’t handle let’s say a small water leak on a road trip then one should probably not own an RV. Also - I am seeing that there is a HUGE difference between cheap rigs and expensive rigs in terms of the materials and components. My good friend bought a very cheap coachman rig - and he is at the 3 year mark and has had to replace the fridge, AC unit, and numerous small things due to breakage. I’ve had a few small things, but nothing “major” so far. Thanks for the honest and real comments.

@@TheBlockPartyRV it’s wrong to promise the moon and get a disappointment.Most people do not see the fakes.I miss my rv, but I do not miss the things that goes wrong, this is the out of doors, if you can cover it up, like a barn.
