I was told directly by S&W that this optic was supplied by JP Enterprises who rebrands the optic from Shield. This is not correct. The optic is directly supplied by Shield. Shield confirmed this to me and (I found a Shield swag sticker in the paperwork). Sorry for the mistake but I was given bad info from the source.

I have the same one in .40. I love it. It’s my choice for concealed carry. I replaced my Kimber Ultra Carry II, 45 cal that I carried before. There is a huge weight difference plus I like the slim profile. My biggest complaint is the optic. The dust shield will not stay on for nothing if you conceal carry. Pops off all the time. Couple times fell off on the floor in front of people. The optic itself seems real cheap. Guess it works. I ended up taking it off. I think the Holosun 507k (I think that’s the correct number) would be a good choice. For now though, the sights that are on there are awesome.

I own the previous Performance Center ported. 45 ACP Sheild and like the ported barrel. Can't find the .45 right now with optics and ported barrel.

Love my 1.0 Shield. I wonder if that slide/upper would fit on my 1.0 frame? FYI, I live in CA so the 1.0 is our only option. I also love the Apex trigger I already have installed.

I am thinking of purchasing the same pistol however I’d like it for a side piece, and I usually like a thumb safety for a side. What do you guys think of the auto safety on that and is it actually a safety feature? Is the thumb safety something I shouldn’t really worry about cause I cannot find any 9mm with a red dot optic that has a thumb safety-

The brightness cant be adjusted bit the windage and elevation can. The battery is supposed to last 2 years. And its a JP enterprises Jpoint. Off branded shield.

None that I know of. The Shield takes single stack mags. There are extensions available like mag guts and pro mag. But those go up to 10 rounds. I trust the OEM 8 round mags best.

It has a cover plate. It actually comes in the box with the optic packed seperate. So yes you can take it on off as you please.

For one of a kind I am talking about the total package. Optic out of the box with a 4 inch barrel on a slimline pistol. If there is another like this on the market I am just not familiar with it.

To be honest I'm not a big fan of Smith & Wesson semi-auto pistols, as I am with their Revolvers, I have had a S&W semi-auto pistol in the past found it to be a huge paper weight especially when carrying,. I havent been turned on buy a firearm in a while but Holy crap this M&P is sexy... But having said that I am intrigued by this pistol, I guess it didn't really spark my interest when the M&P's first came out, Just saw an ad on the back cover of Shooting Illustrated March 2020 magazine, It's a sexy firearm. Look out S&W I may be adding your brand of semi-auto pistols to my collection in my safe especially this model, next to my Springfield, and another future purchase addition of a SIG P320 XFIVE. OH YEEEEEAH!!!

@@tylerhamiter2160 It was heavier than I would of liked. it definitely did the job it was a thick cumbersome fire arm to carry and handle, plus the fact that the frame, and the slide were all steel parts no polymer on that gun

I think I like the xds better than the regular size shield but with the 4 inch barrel the smith has the advantage. You can get the base model without the optic to avoid the sticker shock.

What distance is this zeroed for from factory? You said it was shooting low. Was this at close distance?

I have one, I carry for 50 yrs, have every type of gun at one time or another. This gun is not a high cap gun, it wasn't made to compete with 15-20 round pistols. It's for discrete carry, it doesn't print. And if you can shoot, 9 rounds of +P should be plenty. 1-2 spare mags give you all the rounds you would ever need.

Well shit. I was excited until I found out it was an auto adjusting red dot. Smh... Those are always unusable for me. Never bright enough. Guess I'll need to get a 2.0 compact and have it cut for an RMR if I want a ccw with an optic. Thanks for the info though.

You can get a Shield PC for sub 400, I'm not sure about the optics on this model, or if the do a wide release will they will they offer a plate mount as on other models. but if I had to guess I Would say around 600 or maybe sub 600 . that would cut into the sig 320c RX line for the budget minded...this is just a guess, this came straight from my backside

I never understood why people care about the box their pistol comes in. My pistols go in clamshell cases and the mags go in my range bag the second I get the gun. The box gets closed and put in storage ... the only time the box sees the light of day after that is if I decide to sell the gun.

Piece of crap is 100% unusable. Did not work from the get go. Will not feed and jams every shot 100% of the time with both mags and 2 ammo brands, hornady critical defense and pmc. Furthermore, carrying with an empty chamber is problematic since it takes " an act of congress" to rack the slide and the slide release is also extremely stiff. The 10 & 13 round mags are also bogus, a promotional sceme,I can barely get 9scene, 10 rounder with superman strength. When I asked customer service how this product left the factory without being checked an the lack of quality control, they got defensive with me. Piece of crap!
