One thing you did not mention in the video is that Saloma is a Malay singer and actress who is revered in Malaysia much like Edith Piaf is revered in France. The grave yard you pass by on the way to the bridge is her last resting place together with her husband P. Ramlle, her sister Mariani (also an actress) and her step son, Nasir Ramlee.

Thanks for the information! I should have looked this up before doing the video. I have heard of P. Ramlee and walk by that graveyard frequently but never thought that someone so famous would be buried there.

The walkway is so convenient. I know people still prefer to take the lrt to kg baru but the walkway seem to be a nice detour from the usual. At least can get a bit of exercise walking 😄 I prefer to walk around kg baru in the morning as well. Lots of nice little goodies at the food stalls. Plus chow kit market is nearby.

Kampung Baru,KL is the 'Capital' of all Malay kampungs (Villages) around Malaysia. means that, it is like a showcase of Kampongs in Malaysia. You can see how the malays lives in their kampung in KL before you embark on the journey to other Malay kampungs in the country, even in remote area.But right now some politicians in the gov want to sell the land in Kampung Baru KL to several greedy developers for another expensive condos and apartments. Im not even from Kampung Baru KL and im not even from KL.. but , i love Kampung Baru KL #SaveKampungBaruKL #KhalidGoAway

Actually since the 1990's I used to cross the river to kg Baru from Jalan ampang/KLCC area, no nd to take a taxi or bus..... But back then you have to walk through the cemetery and there was a small pedestrian bridge crossing the river.

I hadn't thought of that but both times I have been there, so far, there have been security guards standing near the Ampang entrance. The only other thing they might be guarding would be the cemetery but now that you mentioned it they are probably there to prevent what you mentioned.
