Love, love, love the chrome siding. This is a beauty and it looks great on the Dept 56 layout. Sound is so clear and I love the red and yellow.

Those engines are nothing short of beautiful. It brings back memories of riding the train to beat traffic from Chicago to Evanston an adjoining suburb. Such a smooth ride and the conductor checking and marking your ticket. These engines are my favorite style and give a great nostalgic feeling in your village layout. Thanks for sharing.

MTH makes some really nice SF F3s. They know how to do chrome finishes. I have to Lionel versions and I really like 'em but they lack that finish. Nice review. They look great! Hard to go wrong the the SF F3s!

Thanks Marty. I like the Lionel rendition a lot. I think the Lionel sound system is better than the MTH. Lionel offers Deeper and richer tones.

This locomotive design is the most aesthetically pleasing of any I've ever seen. Amtrak should reintroduce it rather than the current modern units. The F3 design for some reason just looks adventurous and inviting.
