[NEW SCANIA ENGINE!] - Stockholm Fire | Engine & Ladder | Responding from KUNGSHOLMEN Fire Station!

Emergency responses of the Kungsholmens fire station in the heart of the Swedish capital Stockholm! The new Scania fire engine and the turntable ladder can be seen twice during turnout & emergency response for two automatic fire alarms.
The station of Storstockholms Brandförsvar (Greater Stockholm Fire Department) houses a fire engine, a turntable ladder, an utility van (crew transporter) and two equipment trucks for water rescue. Kungsholmen Fire Station is the only fire station with water rescue divers in all of Stockholm and the surrounding area. As diving operations are still rare, the divers usually respond with the normal fire engine to emergencies until a water rescue call comes in, at which point the Engine is immediately withdrawn and drives back to the station with lights and siren. To ensure that this does not take too long, the crews from Kungsholmen practically never drive out of their own service area, so we were told. For this reason, the number of operations is relatively low for a centrally located fire station, with only 5 calls a day, and we needed quite a few attempts before we finally made it.

nice video. why does the engine drive with lights and siren if it's withdrawn though, usually if it's withdrawn this means the lights and siren should not be used

Thank you! No, only if a call for the divers comes in during a normal fire/rescue call, the engine would be taken out of service and would drive back with lights and siren to man the dive van.
