TGG - Global Emergency Responses

4 жыл бұрын

Captured here are two fire responses from Östermalm Fire Station of the Greater Stockholm Fire Brigade (Storstockholms brandförsvar). This station is considered one of the busiest in Stockholm and serves a large part of the city center and old town. Lamps outside the fire station indicate which type of call has come in, and fire calls are generally responded to by both an engine and turntable ladder.
I was also able to capture a very rarely seen utility car responded from the fire station at night for an unknown call. I assume the response was for a medical incident or another assistance call that does not require much equipment.

The hi-lo airhorns/sirens are really loud when you hear them in person. You start to hear them at least a minute before you actually see the fire engine in the distance

I don't see why Americans are spitting on the Martinshorn hi-lo siren, since it's so powerful and effective.

@@rickardbergh5431 Because you can also hear a mechanical siren at least a minute before you see the actual appliance. Also the Martins Horn not only sound stupid, but reminds many of the older people who immigrated to the states (those left alive anyway) of the horrors of Nazi occupation, as it was the horn most abused by Gestapo cars during raids. For that last reason alone it should honestly be banned across Europe. I can't image why it would continue to be used as I know the population of Europe isn't that ignorant.

Lights indicates as folow. RÖD (red) Stort larm (Large redponse) 2 or more units is responding normaly the engine and ladder. GRÖN (green) litet larm (small response) one unit is responding, like in the clip the boat crew. So green or red could be any type of call like MVA, automatic fire alarm, hazmat, fires, The "size" of the response is determined by the dispatcher.

The rotating lights are mostlikely ones by standby with a custom casing around them. Which I mean they are mounted in one each box. Like it has custom mounting for them. But I could be wrong since I asked around and no one has found out exactly manufacture of these lights. So this is why I suspect they are custom made by using a custom mounting and rotating LED lights from company called Standby at standby.se

@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses here's an example for a Swedish fire truck with yelp: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moS2Y3SuedOWq5I Yeah I think in Stockholm they only have electronic and pneumatic hi-lo on their fire apparatus but I can't say for sure; I know some of their old trucks had yelp as well. But that's a common problem when you go to a country and visit the capital city: you'll film some interesting stuff and a lot of ordinary emergency vehicles which have been filmed hundreds of times, but the average across the country might be very different and you might find way more interesting units among the "normal" apparatus in other places. Thus you've been to various cities across Germany, among them also Chemnitz where the FD has a simply awesome old station, which looks much nicer than the country's oldest fire station which is in the capital city of Berlin. Fire apparatus in Copenhagen are nice, but the ones in the metro area are even more interesting. Same goes for Oslo

As an American I really don't understand European style fire engines keep in mind I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with them I just don't understand their design because here in America we have so much more on our ladder truck they can literally be used as stand-alone fire engines where is from what I can tell keep mind this is just based upon outside appearances I have no actual knowledge of what's behind the doors in the compartments on the actual engine itself but it looks like they're just used as a lighter truck there is no water tank or pump on them it doesn't even look like they have a hose line on them and I just don't understand that because being American like I said we get so much more versatility out of our ladder trucks I would figure that a European fire department would want the same type of Versatility because in my opinion anyway it would be more cost-efficient you could eliminate one whole extra fire engine from the Department that's being used to carry the equipment that can be stored and carried on ladder truck like here in the United States I understand that different cultures different ways of doing things but if it's a little bit more versatile and could potentially save your department money wouldn't you at least be interested in trying it I don't know it's just a thought but anyway cool videos and I find them to be very interesting and entertaining comparing the two different firefighting cultures so keep up the good work👍👍

Tom, of course the engines in Europe (especially: Sweden, Norway, Germany, Autria, Switzerland - these I know personally) do have a water tank, usually ranging from 1600l to 2500l and 150l to 300l foam, of course a pump (!!!), a hydraulic rescue set with spreader and scissor, movable ladders, tools and all kinds of hoses and nozzels

American Ladder Trucks may have more Equipment, but in all European Ladders made from Magirus, Rosenbauer are far superior then American Ones in my Eyes. They have a Ladder Basket, you can also order them with articulated Arm for more Maneuvability and such things. This Video is from Rosenbauer and it shows what you can do with European Aerial Ladder Trucks who all have Ladder Baskets (Like the newer so called XS Version of Ladder Baskets from Rosenbauer) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpqzfnqebrZ4jZY Also here in Germany, Ladders have mostly a Electric Generator, a Chainsaw with Equipment and other "smaller" Equipment. Edit: Pictures from a Aerial Ladder from a German Fire Department called Meissen. Sometimes the Departmens in Germany have some Differences in there Equipment, but its mostly the normal Things that every Truck has. I dont know about the Equipment in other Countrys, but at least Austria and Switzerland ( and maybe Holland) have almost completly the same Things on Board.
