New SCRIBING fixed the Ice Warden! Full Ice Bars! - Gold Road U42 PTS | Elder Scrolls Online (ESO)

In this episode of Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), I made a warden Ice Build that can hit for 78k DPS while using non-meta sets to allow for the entire group to deal an additional 30% critical damage to the enemies! This will create a larger group dps while sacrificing a bit of your own.
With the addition of Scribing in the new update, I was able to scribe several new skills to deal frost damage and provide more buffs the warden was not yet receiving. I did have some sustain issues so I did choose to keep the shulks skill as it was stamina and deals a large amount of damage.

Gear: Perfected Master's Ice staff on front bar. Whorl of the Depths (can replace with Icy Conjurer which will only lose 1.5k dps) on back bar ice staff and all jewelry. Frostbite on all body pieces. Nunatak in medium weight for monster set.
All armor pieces are magicka enchant with divines trait. Front bar weapon is an ice staff with charged trait and magicka enchant (or poison/flame if you don't have sustain issues). The back bar ice staff has infused trait with increase weapon damage enchant. Jewelry enchants are all increase spell damage and infused trait to gain the most from the recovery.

Setup: All attributes in magicka, high elf race, using Ghostly Eyebowl, tri-stat potions (or heroism if you have the gold), we already provide prophecy/sorcery so you don't need spell power potions, but can use them if you want to guarantee uptime.

Front Bar: Bird of Prey, Arctic Blast, Chilling Contingency (scribe skill), Subterranean Assault (or third scribe skill for utility if you have enough sustain), Destructive Touch, and Flawless Dawnbreaker (for passives).
Back bar: Blue Betty, Unstable Wall of Elements, Lotus Blossom, Chilling Explosion (scribe skill), Winter's Revenge, and Northern Storm.

I really enjoy ice dps. I like to be able to 'feel' the frosty damage, while not having my rp-ness negatively impact my group. Tvm for the build :)

Dope video. I’m fairly new to the game and once I figured out how everything worked I rolled a warden ice mage. It’s my first real build in this game and I use ice furnace and frostbite with the heavy armor pieces on the body. My playstyle is drop all the ice effects and fetcher swarm and then a lot of heavy attacking fit the shield. I have sword and shield on the back bar for extra defense of I need it. Right now I am just soloing world bosses so my build motivations are a little different. I really want nunatek but that zone confuses the hell out of me.

Love the vid my build is different due to circumstances I run - iceheart helm and shoulders medium - frostbite chest, boots, waist, ring, necklace and masters ice staff - ice conjuror back bar arms, ring, legs and ice staff Still trying to get the helmet Nunatak to drop but nothing yet have the shoulders tho. Running breton for more sustain with witchmothers potent brew for that extra health. - Potion I use spellpower for mag sustain and crit increase Front bar - Bird of prey, chilling contingency exactly the way you have yours, deep fissure for minor and major breach, destructive touch, and chilling explosion exactly the same for damage and some more sustain. - Backbar blue betty, ice fortress, artic blast getting nerfed in pts 43 still salty about it due to pvp usage smh, growing swarm for some sustain, and unstable wall of elements. Do you plan on swapping any skills once pts 43 happens saw another youtuber talk about some scribing skills are getting the frost damage added.

Huh. I wonder if I could make that with an Oakensoul + tripots on my khajiit. Chalks could be replaced with Contigency (it can have vulnerability instead of minor force). Chilling Explosion can have magicka lifesteal if recovery really is an issue, otherwise off-balance.

Can't wait to try this out on the PTS. My current frost warden with similar gear is hitting barely 90k, and I think those new two skills are just what it needs. Timing the two 6 second duration skills together seems like an easy rotation. The two second channel has me a little concerned though. For sacrificing two global cooldowns and missing out on 1 light attack to only deal 22k damage is a huge letdown. Yeah you can apply the minor magickasteal, but that is likely going to be redundant in most groups. If your standard spammable is frost clench with 9k damage + 3k chilled proc being guaranteed, you are basically better off casting that twice (and getting your second 2k light attack in). If you are needing to do AoE, absolutely go for this cast, but for single target boss damage I would drop that channeled ability entirely. Its animation is sick though. Just wish it had better utility. If you made it with Major Savagry and dropped Betty for something else, it would be a very nice skill to use. Unfortunately, by buffing Betty Zos kinda screwed over that idea. Now Betty will NEED to be slotted similar to Templars running Solar Barrage.

There is certainly some refinement and changes that can provide better dps. I do wish they hadn't made every version of the destruction staff scribing skill have a 2 second channel, as you've said it really disrupts the dps/rotation

Having a new skill which is chilling explosions, it nice, it make better than some of the area ice ability so this is nice for my one bar. What good is has a big meter and radius which i wish all skills have that too and I take anything over using wall of elements because it do suck especially when it don't apply breach instant

this ability unfortunately has a horrible damage to cast time ratio as of week 1 on the pts. it takes an enormous 2 seconds to cast alongside having a travel time. its very janky to use and you can do a lot more damage in the same window of time using 3 frost reaches in single target or 3 frost pulsars in aoe.

@Frostingale I don't like 2 seconds, 1 is fine but is there more ice skills that you can make than explosions one?

Sadly there is not many spammable, large AoE ice skills. The only ones (other than chilling explosion) available are unstable wall of elements and pulsar. As @Frostingale mentioned however, the chilling explosion does have horrible dps and if it is not changed in later pts weeks, it will probably be just used as a buff/debuff skill and only activated once every ~20 seconds
