I got the elite series 2, 4 months ago i had a problem with disconnecting in wireless and i went to best buy i had purchased the 2 year warranty when i bought it , they gave me a new one. And they told me i can get a new one until the 2 year mark. Best buy all the way in purchasing electronics.
@fusi0ncatalyst1913 жыл бұрын
Hmm... MY experience with replacing all 5 of my elites through bestbuy is that they wont just replace it under the 2 year warranty, instead they issue a full refund for the controller, or an exchange for a new one, but this uses up the warranty on the controller, and you need to purchase a NEW 2 year warranty for that new controller. When it was $20 a pop, it was a deal, but its gon up to $60 per exchange, and I am pretty much done with it. I've got to exchange my current one, and in the future I will send it back to MS for repairs while its under the (now longer) warranty, and after that, either do the repairs myself, or be happy with the PowerA Fusion that has the same features in a wired controller at about the cost of just the warranty for the elite.

Interesting review. I did not know this existed. I have the Elite 2 Xbox controller that I use with the PC. Loving it so far, and this Scuff just doesn't seem "premium" enough for the price. Also, the 6 month warranty is not enough at this price point in my opinion... The official Elite Series 2 controller seems to be a lot better as it comes with a carrying case, built-in battery and more metal in the construction (triggers etc.) just feels more premium. The only thing missing is the colour customisability which I am not too bothered with tbh.

@White_5tar3 жыл бұрын
I disagree wholeheartedly. Having to carry around extra AA batteries in case they run out is not premium at all. Plus, an addition Premium feature of the Elite controllers is that they can charge while stored via the dock/case while not in use. In all my years of gaming, the only batteries that have failed me are the old Xbox 360 plug and charge ones, which were removable and the default setup was AA batteries out of the box. No idea why they went bad, but they just didn't hold charge a few months after I got them. I gave up on the plug and charge kits and went to rechargable AA batteries for that, which was a chore. All the controllers with built in batteries have worked without issue despite multiple charge cycles throughout their life.

@@Tdog999x hopefully the new elite's are based off the series x controller
@truek1ng73 жыл бұрын
I used to buy nothing but elites, and have the series 2 and they are by far the worst controller for shooters, the inner dead zone of the elite sticks are so bad they wiggle without any input whatsoever, I believe they purposely have done this to get more repair orders because the stock controller that comes with the Xbox has better stick response than the elite series 2, it might look better and it might be okay for standard games but for shooters it’s by far the worst controller I’ve used, literally makes your aim worse
@Tdog999x3 жыл бұрын
@@truek1ng7 I know exactly what you mean bruh. Try battle beaver, the series x controller is much better than the Xbox one controllers, and battle beaver has quick picks that are cheap and I love mine 👍🏻

No worries mate. For reference here’s the manual confirming the triggers can’t be mapped to the paddles customercare.scufgaming.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/4407259805965/SCUF_Instinct_Product_Manual.pdf

for some reason the xbox controller layout is really weird for shooter based games... I personally find PS layout much more accurate

Personal preference, nothing wrong about. I'd like mouse controll for every console for any TPS/FPS or as option gyro, switch done that good. But it is what it is =/

$170+ ($200 for the pro) is a hard price tag to digest , but no question Scuff controllers look and probably feels great, hopefully Corsair / Scuff would release some good deals later
@mitchisreal3 жыл бұрын
Looks nice; I wonder how durable it is coz you know, it's Scuf. I tried to build one (non-pro) and it's $220 plus, way too expensive compared to my BBC and it doesn't even tell me how much actuation force is for the sticks.

BBC is the way to go. Bought one for my Xbox two weeks after buying a Prestige. Total junk.

If Scuf made a controller for the PS5 that also has adaptive triggers and the same top notch haptic feedback as the original controller I'd be all over it! Unfortunately this is unlikely to happen. 😔

I debated a SCUF heavily but ended up going with an Elite 2 just on the warranty alone. 6 months vs 3 years is a no brainer especially at this price point.

Ive had 3 Elite controllers. The original lasted for years before the left thumbstick went to mush with no click at all. One of my Elite v2's did the same exact thing after 1 year and 3 days. MS warranty wont cover it. Im done with Elite controllers as much as I prefer them. Was looking at this but when you said 6 month warranty? Nope.

I would only be using this on PC, how is the SCUF software on PC? Right now I have an ASTRO C40TR but its pretty worn and is in need of replacement, how odes this controller compare to that one? Also are the back buttons mechanical switches? Thank you!

had a Scuff... Never again. Breaks so often and no replacement controller when it does. You have to wait 12 weeks! to get it repaired. Now on an Elite 2, that thing has zero deadzone... its freaking awesome. Delivered with al kinds op swappable sticks, paddles and even two different D-pads. Everything locks in place magnetically. Feels so nice. The best part? Elite 2 has two years guarantee instead of 6 months of scuff.

How do the inner back paddles feel? They look like they’d be awkward to press at the angles that are used for them. Looks like your finger would have to push them away instead of toward your palm.

I have both the elite 2 and the scuf controller. I preferred the elite 2 is cheaper, you get more options, it comes with 1 yr warranty and it actually stays connected to my series x. The scuf paddles are weak and it takes longer for them to fix it and it disconnects from my XSX all the time. Made by the same manufacturer but you can really tell the difference about both controllers.

How do the sticks feel? Are they tight like the old 360 controllers or looser like the newer ones? Are they adjustable like the Xbox elite v2? Will the paddles on the back interfere with a keyboard attachment? I use the official Xbox chatpad, which is hard to find now, but still supported on most new Xbox controllers, but the paddles may interfere. I enjoy the elite V2 but the sticks aren't tight enough even at Max, the bumper buttons are wearing down a bit to where my rb has to be pressed a certain way to register and getting slight stick drift on right stick which is terrible for shooters. Also the top right slot for the paddle broke slightly somehow, so I had to tape the paddle to add some size to it to function normal again, the pivot point broke or something, small defect but large effect when the button doesn't register half the time.

Cant map triggers to the paddles. As a slightly disabled gamer that needs that, this is a non-starter for me. Sticking with the Elite 2. Not sure why they would omit trigger mapping when other controllers allow it.
