Demonstrating the new gel formulation of 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) from Elevate Oral Care. Non-invasive, topical treatment for caries arrest, desensitization, and prevention. The gel is tinted blue, for better visibility, and has a similar look and viscosity to 37% phosphoric acid etch. With the gel, there is reduce chance of the SDF dripping or flowing onto a surface the clinician had not intended to treat. This is important/valuable since SDF can permanently stain decay, decalcification, hypomineralization, restoration margins, and immature enamel. It should be applied to a clean, dry tooth surface for at least 1 minute. Do not etch, light cure, blow compressed air, or rinse the SDF off. Excess gel can be wiped off with gauze after 1 minute. Optionally, fluoride varnish can be applied after. For more information and continuing education, visit www.Kidsteethandbraces.com or look at case studies from @drmaclean on Instagram
