Did this today and it was a blast to get. This is how you do unlocks, Blizzard! No rep gates. No time gates. A blend of solo and group content and leaving it up to the community to find the solutions. A unique reward at the end makes this entire chain so worth it.

Yeah that finale was the best part out of all of it I think. I actually like when the puzzles are unique between people - forces you to work through it and think a little. The only part I didn't care for was that light's out segment since I suck at those games lol

@@madseasonshow I want to add something, this is a big problem that should've been better advertised. Only the group you get the mount with, can get in the mount. I REPEAT. ONLY THE GROUP YOU COMPLETE THE CHAIN WITH CAN GET IN YOUR MOUNT. I had a feeling this mount was too good to be true...

I don't think this is how they should do unlocks. The concept is great and secretive nature is also very cool, but the secrets don't really make much sense nor does the lore, it's kinda just complicated to be annoying to achieve, I'm not saying make it easy but there have been other secret mount that are still very difficult to figure out what to do and even with a guide you can't always do it easily and it takes time, Fathom Dweller for instance was done much better imo this is just absurd. WoW has a tendency to force players into being neckbeards to get any rewards. Time and effort should reward players the more they put in but the overall average time/effort required for 1 small reward in this game just doesn't make sense to anyone who isn't trying to play this game 16+ hours a day. My main quarrel though with this mount is actually the fact that you can only join or have the other 4 people you did it with join you in the mount. Seems kinda stupid to reward people a mount that is exclusively to 4 other players specifically when Blizzard knows there's both an overwhelmingly huge population of solo players and an even bigger population of returning/leaving players making this closer to a 1 person mount than 5 which if that's true, the mount isn't very much worth it.

If doing red, DOUBLE CHECK you picked up each required fish currency before leaving each vendor. EVERY TIME. I did the run ~2.5 times. First time I bought 1 blue item instead of 5, realized that at the end. Second time I forgot something halfway through. Third time's a charm /cry

My favorite part about this chain was the final part where you had to group with people. I did this with a friend and 3 other random people met in the group finder. We managed to do it without voice coms and it was really rewarding. It felt so great grouping with people you don't know to help accomplish the same thing. Reminded me of the old days where grouping for content was a regular thing to do. I really hope for more of this type of stuff, and hope that Blizzard goes back to their roots.

They data mine looking for functions/places/npcs that show at least some sort of change. This might point them to a specific npc, or a specific zone or subzone. And then from there a lot of brute forcing and examining of whatever clues they find. IE Potentially, they saw that several clickable were added in Shattrath, rather suspicious, so via searching and trial and error, they found that it involved Griftah and the amulet. From there they tried to follow clues.

I remember joking with my friends that one of those items might actually have some kind of hidden meaning behind them. I even went as far as to equip some of the pieces just for fun. Never did I expect that it would actually turn out to be true and lead to some of the most difficult riddles in the entire game. I was still thinking about the Sombra ARG at the time.

Finally got this done. It was so cool getting those 5 people together that have never seen each other on discord to argue about those puzzles, about who was the escort and all that stuff. Really really good stuff, but I think that the platform puzzle solution is wrong, since we tried it and it wasn't working out, until we switched for the one in wow secret website.

Thanks for the guide! The addon for Yellow gave me trouble, but someone had a LFG with the puzzle solved just adding folks to loot the box. Went with 4 strangers, had a great time farming the mount! This is what WoW is all about!

Some facts about the secret : - On the blue letter adventure the Highmountain part is actually leading you in the camp of some Tauren clan that don't know about deathwing's death and claim that he will come and destroy the world (if i'm not mistaking here) - Also the blue letters are written by Ms Graham whose first name is Ana ... Ana Graham (Anagram, took me a long time)

The WoW Secret Finding community is freaking amazing. Not only is it global, it is a collective of brilliant, helpful, sane individuals who are at a far, far remove from the usual toxic/trolling bs that goes on in the general WoW community. The WoW Secret Finding community is an example of what the rest should be. Props to them for being. As for add-ons, it's very possible to do this puzzle without any add-ons. However, if you're doing the Vashj'ir portion and you *don't* have the sea-horse mount, use a druid toon, if you have one.

For the bridge one what we did to get across it was just spam clicking it, when you’re spam clicking it you get back on it when it kicks you halfway. Honestly we didn’t have a guide since we were one of the first people who got there and we just couldn’t figure that one out so spam clicking was the way.

Heads up: Just completed the Hivemind with a pick-up group. The Platform Puzzle steps you have listed in your video description are wrong, and we had to grab the updated versions from the wow-secrets site, which worked. Compare the two lists you will also notice they differ.

Heads up, when I first tried to find this NPC I just accepted the quest to go to Vashj'ir and just immediately left the ship to start the Red Monocle process. I could not find the NPC and my character would disappear as others have stated. I went back and restarted the Vashj'ir quest line. Did the first 8 or so quests until I acquired the seahorse. Went back to check and I can see and interact with this NPC.

I use the addon BuyEmAll, and for the trade sequence parts, it worked great. As long as you buy the correct of the first item of each you just need to click buy max, was regularly getting to the vendor and leaving while others where sitting at them.

What amazes me most about this is how anybody figured it out. Well, I'm actually most amazed that after all these years they finally made the treasure tracking amulet do something, but holy cow, man. I saw someone in Boralus the other day that I thought was floating on a brain, then I realized they WERE a brain, and I thought that it would be great if it was a flying mount that could hold up to eight people. I wonder though... does the Paladin or DK mounted speed buff stack with the multiple melded minds buff?

For those who are doing the Halls of Origination puzzle, here's a very helpful hint: The orb at the center does NOT reset the puzzle per se, it generates an entirely NEW puzzle. So be very, very careful. If using the addon to help, the generated solution will show a complete single color if you haven't made mistakes. If you HAVE made mistakes, there will be multiple colors shown.

A tip for druid players for the red monocle. Your aquatic form is faster than using a flying mount! Zoom through the water at incredible speeds; you'll get that one done quickly!

It's much easier to just translate the numbers to symbols rather than trying to remember who has what number. Also the final river raft puzzle is bugged. You can just spam right click the platform while you're being scanned, and 50% of the time it will just bug out and let you stay on.

Note that you can only multi-person mount with those you completed the mount ritual with. You can go back later with other people and re-complete the ritual, but you will only ever be able to join up with 5 people at a time. So unless you have a static group of people you run with, don't expect a whole lot out of this mount besides the novelty.

Not true. That's a random-acting glitch, apparently. I had grouped up with someone from secret finding to help with the yellow puzzle. He had done it and I was not in his group when he had got his mount. Yet, after he helped me, he summoned his mount and I was able to mount it with him.

You can by pass the surmar part. Just go to surmar go in the instance and circle around the city and go up on the hill and there is the hivemind in the little temple. Takes 5 mins.

Wait that last one....I suddenly get it. It's like that riddle about crossing a river with a hound, a fox, and a chicken. Boat is only big enough for you to get one across at a time, but of course if you leave the fox and chicken alone together you're down one chicken and if you leave the fox and hound alone, the fox will get eaten. Solution, by the way, is to take the fox across then the chicken bring the fox back with you drop it off and take the dog.

Note: One of our hair trigger guildies found out that even if you reset the puzzle, the chest stays where it is. So you can still get the monocle, even if someone accidentally resets the puzzle.

So it turns out there is a way to skip the entire last portion of the chain, the part in the dungeon and get right to the end without doing the puzzles. Better to do them anyway but if people wanna know, it can be done.

Great puzzle. But one question, what happens in a few weeks/months when there will be little to nobody to party with to complete the puzzle ? Can those who already have the mount redo the whole thing (if they discarded the monocles) ? If no : some people will be screwed or at actizzard's will to make it a solo journey. If yes : you're at the mercy of people's good will... x). Anyway, even if I don't play wow this is the kind of stuff that makes me like the game and make me watch wow related videos (I haven't heard of other mmo with such thing in them).
