I got one of these when they first came out to put in my collection. It's well thought out and well engineered. Anyone who's ever tried to recharge anything by hand crank knows how much effort it takes just to get a little power. I think Fenix did an excellent job designing it to include options for recharging by USB and also run off a common alkaline AA battery. Having a super conductor to run on no battery whatsoever is a great idea too. It's a true emergency flashlight that I'm surprised isn't getting more attention.

Good idea and better quality than the other "crank" flashlights out there. Wouldnt say its self charging if you have to sit there and squeeze a thosand times and annoy everyone else around you haha i bring backpack friendly solar pannels with me to charge my lights. Obviously that wouldnt work at night so thats where this light would be perfect for. May have to pick this one up! Thank you for the video!

7 minutes talk and not to mention when you turn on and off, do this thing remember the settings? Or every times you have to switching low high medium to the last setting? Wasting my time.

Thats the Thing i noticed in lot of Reviews. they talk and talk but tell nothing...

it doesn't remember where you left it, It will always default to low when turning it on. Fenix site mentions which flashlights have the feature to remember (though you have to be on the specific product). As this is an emergency light (like you have no power for a decent amount of time and this is your only option between darkness and some light). It makes sense that it defaults to the lowest setting to give you the longest possible time.
