Meh. I'd rather see better library management tools and functions such as crate search, more tags/custom tags, related tracks, ratings, etc. Also, improved and smoother graphics throughout the entire GUI, improvement or waveform stuttering effects... to name a few. I don't think there are a lot of "new effect" requests and feature suggestions in Serato's forum either.

Crate search has been around for ages. Instead of pressing ctrl/cmd + F, left click in the search field while you’re in a crate and it will search inside the active crate 🙂

Greta job VLATZ! I really hope they update the library eventually and make it easier for us to organize our music (grab and move multiple crates at once, find doubles, auto tag music, etc) and SEARCH crates. I also would love to archive crates so I can streamline my library but also keep specialized crates in the archive for the times I may need them. Like I want to have a master library I can pull from but have a streamlined library for when I go to different gigs.

Wish list. 1.archive crates 2. An A.I feature that detects profanity for radio or events with kids. 3. Colorized tracks. 4. Better music management (Autotags, auto fill) 5. The option to pre install hardware when installing Serato. 6. Custom skins for serato GUI 7. A track spacer that you can colorized, name and resize so you can have spaces when you have a crate with multi genres. If I miss any please add below, I’m sure there are many more that would be more useful than this.

All the thanks to Mad Vlad for this Serato update! Some interesting features in there. The first DJ software I'm aware that allows this kind of effects customization although I'm not complaining on my Traktor software in this department.

I mean you could literally do all of this in Traktor already with midi mappings and modifiers using their effects, but being able to do this more intuitively using presets, will lead to a better UX. I like the fact that sets will start to sound a bit more interesting. We've heard the same DJM900 and Serato effects 100000000 times now.

only 2 upgrades with Serato i require. i still use the older install for 2010 macbook pro. #1) midi assignable button to insta load sample bank file to turntable side of choice.(for scratching)... #2) ability to visually draw silence on the multicolored wav file. oh and get rid of that monthly payment to use serato video i just want to make one purchase and own my software.

Dynamic beatgrids would be nice. Beatgridding Afro House and Disco inside Serato blows. I use Lexicon DJ for that. It takes about 30 seconds to scan tracks in a folder and it’s mostly accurate.

@@djberniegonzalez They say its got native support now tho- what do they actually mean by that? Might just be more smoke and mirrors. Pioneer have run serato into the ground. They dropped support for 32 bit systems while supporting outdated operating systems like w7 and w8.1. A while back I sold my thinkpad and brought an m1 to use dvs with and its still slower than my old 2012 laptop. Despite saying its fully supported. If it dont get better after this update serato is dead. Shame because in some ways its still the best. Need to use outdated hardware to use it tho..

Mo love the way you're hiding your mic on the adidas shirt.... I saw video .. I have been a Serato Pro user for over 8 years now and I would have loved if they added a 3/4 beat on the effects knob. Currently it's 1/2, beat, 1 beat and 2 beat and add a button to move the search area to the far left side of the interface. It would just be a little easier to navigate with a mouse.

Apple Silicon support is awesome for the mac users. I don't know if anyone with hardware fx is going to be too excited for software fx. Looking forward to seeing how this runs on my M1 macbook. A solid update. I feel people are being a little harsh on it :)

One of my main complaints in Serato vs my software of choice DJay Pro, is that you can search for ANY song in streaming, not just music that's already in your playlists. As a mobile DJ, I get TONS of requests and a lot of them are songs I've never heard before or just don't have in my collection. Also, the beatgridding in Serato is SO BAD!!! They should implement some sort of "mass user database" that can "learn" from user input/edits to the grid. I feel like that's kind of a big ask, but they've gotta figure out a way to get ahead of the competition. The next generation of DJs doesn't care about the "rules" of DJ'ing. We understand that the technology is a tool and what matters most is HOW you use it. The easier they make it to use (ie DJay Pro) the more likely they are to stay relevant.
