Real life tip. Lower your skidder plate, winch the trees up against it, raise the skidder plate which brings the leading edge of the trees up. This prevents the leading edge of the trees from digging in. It also increases the weight of the back of the skidder for better traction. I assume it works in game. It's necessary in real life.

Notice the spoon on the back of the skidder. The idea is that the trunk sits up in that spoon.

Doing massive loads with a weaker tractor you need to do manual mode so you can lock it in the low gears

hey man just wanted to say explaining the buttons you press to do things has helped me and keeps me watching, im fully new to farming sims and i just got 25. was using the winch on the front of my tractor to push trees to the location until i saw this, you saved me SO much hassle. keep the explaining going i am learning a lot! thank you!

If you face the fallen tree and turn your chainsaw sideways and run sideways along the tree the limbs will be gone easily. Yes that is a sentence.

The forestry version of this map was a great way to start my non-farm empire. So far I've been cut tons of trees and have a sawmill, paper factory, and carpentry shop. Not one field yet but I've cleared some land for if I do decide to actually start farming hehe. Might just plant more trees on them though.

The sawmill has no problem with long trees sticking out. If you're lazy you can just winch a tree to the sawmill straight after you felled it and sell it straight out (but you will get a penalty for not delimbing it).

Nice start and I'm just loving the new soundscape in FS, I had that Bambi and a early JCB to feed cows on a research farm. So at the risk of teaching my granny stuff, if you hook up trees inside out it helps but in silver run the biggest help was a weight about 1800 at least, on the front so 4 wheels are pulling . Also keeping the cable short as possible keeps it from bounding, great work as ever cheers for now

@FSG, you don't need the greenhouse for long-range rice the saplings are for felled rice only has far has I'm aware.

That is correct! Also, as far as I have seen (experienced), the greenhouses start filling with water on the next whole hour. And from that moment, it fills with a certain amount every hour untill it's full. But don't forget that the water also costs money and that might be an issue if you have so little money.

I reckon the rice paddies are a bit misleading with the pricing, should give you a prompt or something before progressing saying the value and do you want to proceed with this - also interesting it will push you in to the negative - going to be a good series, great start to FS25!

I was thinking the same thing, I don't actually think it showed the true price anywhere on screen at all did it? At least fences and I think vines show you the price each section you're about to place will cost, granted it wouldn't be that easy for the field placement but some kind of "Do you really want to spend 25 grand on this massive rice paddy?!" Mr Clippy style popup would be nice 😁.

You need to use manual shifting that stuttering in speed came mostly from constantly shifting back and forth between 2H and 3L

Fun map! I really like the survival starts - too many other FS streamers are starting with 1M starting funds, a complete farm + mega loans. That gets boring fast. Is this map released yet, or still the beta testing version?

They don't, while the cycles are the same the recipes double and quadruple for medium and large greenhouses.

If you switch your tractor to manual transmission you should be able to tow the logs without the auto shifting between gears and losing momentum

The issue with the John Deere tractor is that the manual transmission is set up wrong and keeps shifting constantly. It should be Low 1-4 and then High 1-4.

some of the older medium tractors like agco white are cheaper then many of the small tractors but weigh more to get better traction

You can get water from paddy field if you flood it. Or just make another one small and use that to fill up tanker

@@TheFarmSimGuy Okay thanks! First, I love the New Frontier map. Having a great time with it. After about 86 hours on the forestry version of the map, all of the trees I removed have re-spawned. So, the fully-cleared, plowed plots of land are now filled with trees that need to be removed again. These plots are three of the 16.19 acre parcels fully cleared of trees, some of them planted/harvested with crops before all of the trees re-spawned.

No my mirrors work, one of the things I’ve noticed is better than FS22. Try deleting your cache
