I very much like the idea of narrowing down to a "top 3". It's much more likely to stick with me better than a long list rattling around in my head. Also, a long list makes the video into a marathon & I start "scrolling". I don't have picks to share today, but I can absolutely imagine giving feedback on some of your topics. I will look forward to seeing where you take this. Nice to have you back on!

Such a great idea Joe! I actually have been eyeing the Queen's Thief series but didn't know if it would feel too young. But if you like it I shouldn't worry about that. 😄 One of my picks would be the Ash and Sand trilogy probably. Especially because how it is build up.

Thanks! Oh that for sure is clever, I’ll have it on other top 3 😉.. QT isn’t adult but it isn’t super tropey?

I have just embarked on a journey to get into fantasy after a lifetime of avoiding it (for no reason other than misguided misconceptions about the genre) so I've stumbled across your video here at just the right time. I LOVE a clever plot and I'm starting to enjoy getting into series, so I may come back to this when I move onto my next fantasy read!

Fantasy is such a broad genre it covers just about everything. I may do one of these to intro fantasy so thanks for that idea. But you can find anything that fits your preferences just under the fantasy umbrella.

@@AverageJoesLibrary I think that would be a great video idea! I know quite a few people who also avoid anything labelled as 'fantasy' and I really think you're correct that the genre is so broad, there is something for everyone. I'm about 120 pages into Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and really enjoying it - no doubt fantasy will be a regular on my TBR list from now on!

@@HowVeryNovel that was one i thought of, i haven't read it yet but if you like history then that sounds about right for it.

This was great timing. I just finished the first queen's thief book and it was OK, with the reveal at the end definitely increasing the overall rating/feeling. I thought I had heard that the first book wasn't the best so it's good to have that reiterated here. I've also eyes Never Die in the past but think I had trouble finding a copy. Back on the tbr again

Yea for sure. Book 3 has a new twist with story telling but it was good… glad to help!
