Thanks Dez, Well I don't think I'll mind them changing the Highway map. But What about New Maps or even bring back old maps Like Karkov and Stallingrad and Minsk ? or many of the even older maps which I miss. Any news ? Recon was used for New Maps and now we get weather :-(

Those were removed due to the Ukraine conflict and the studio split. We're unlikely to see those three again unless the studio re-merges after the conflict ends.

Every time they try to rework map, it gets worse and worse. Some of them became unplayable or obnoxious after their intervention (e.g. Airport, Gorge). There are few maps on which you can effectively play a light tank anyway. And those who remained good, you can rarely play them, because they have a small chance to drop. For example, when playing a light tank, it happened that Prokhorovka and Malinovka did not drop for a whole week. In general, there is a need for NEW, non-corridor maps, not for the rewwork of the old, nice ones.

They really need to work on making the center of maps playable as that will make snipers so much more viable and, resultantly scouts. All they need is the right mix of hard (buildings, knolls), destructible, and soft cover, it really shouldn't be that difficult but their map dev team is clueless or willfully determined to force close-ranged, gold-riddled encounters or (likely) both.

thats just your opinions, i find most map reworks nearly perfect, as a dude with 22k games and 2400 wn8 and 56% win rate and playing this game since 2014 i know what im talkin about but i can see a few of your arguments true, lil few maps are still not done after changes

This game is in such a rut. More premium tanks... more tweaks to existing maps... more gimmick 'events'... how about refreshing some of the old favourite maps? Or even - gasp - make some new ones?

They've made like 10 new ones in the past few years, introduced 2 of them and they are among the worst in the game, one as already been altered. They've also altered numerous old ones in the past few years and somehow made them worse. I have no issue with the "rut" including new tanks, especially free ones, and map changes. The issue is they are absolutley garbage at creating dynamic and balanced maps, be it new or old. (This coming from someone whose favorite map is Sacred Valley and also enjoyed Windstorm, Northwest, Stalingrad, Swamp, Dragon Ridge, the first version of Kharkiv, and even Severogorsk).

So, Highway is going to be useless for scouts and TD's, what does WG have against LT's and TD's?!? every map removes spotting chances and lines of fire for TD's. Just another hull down/heavy map, WG's mad designers are clueless.

Idk. I think we’ll get a better idea once we play the maps. There seem to be a lot more advantageous (hill top) bushes to play. And that’s good for vision and farming assist.

The thing is over the time they change the maps and make them even more "heavy friendly" ,they put objects and hills and more cover for heavies and light gameplay becomes harder and harder to play on those maps...personally i do not see a problem with highway map and believe that they should more focus on giving us new maps and more specifically i would say more open maps.

I like the changes to Highway, tanks can take different paths rather than the usual as there is cover. You can also retreat in areas later than before due to additional cover areas

53mm he is only good for penning no armor td gun shieds or cap reset. Almost everh tank in the game while angled has over 53 mm of armor.

it's too bad WG does not expand the amount of maps you can BLOCK in your random games...i would still add Highway...but my menu is currently full for other BS maps. --thanks for the update on the other machines coming...its too bad though, no buff's for the Arty machines; reload times and vehicle speed/engine power for the big boys (except BC-58). it does not take 50 seconds to reload an Arty SPG guys. --BTW Ship, my sister says hello. She says you never call her back!

It's not remotely campy anymore, South spawn just rushes into the northwest in the first 3 minutes in 90% of the battles.

I don't understand why wg are trying to add new tanks and change old maps. Like there is not too much wrong with the way that maps are now. Yea, it's not too bad when new tech tree branches are added, but what i just despise, are new premium tanks. They are either: bad, overpriced or not unique. Why not add new maps? Like the new maps are mostly really good and actually add something new and interesting to the game. Do that, wg. It just sucks how much wg care about the comunity, we are literally the ones making them money.

The thing is WG doesnt care anymore. World of Tanks has already gone pass its glory days and on the verge of death. So they are milking the player base while they can. They will most likely pull the plug on Wot in 2-3 years or at least put it under maintenance

the fact they only show gun elevation and depression angles on the kanonen jagdpanzer in siege mode makes me think its got that same suspension mechanic as the STB-1 instead of full on siege mode like the S-tanks.
