P320 X-Compact is definitely my favorite. I bought a Sig P365XL recently and have fired hundreds of rounds through it. It is concealable and very accurate at typical defense range distances, but it has a horrible trigger. Maybe one of the worst I've felt. Granted I am used to my HK VP9/VP9SK and Walther PPQ. Tough competion. But I know a spongy trigger when I feel one. the P365XL trigger has tons of Creep at the wall before it breaks. When I go to drop a mag, the position of the mag release button is such that my palm prevents it from dropping without altering my hand position. That said, the P365XL is a viable tool but the P320 X-Compact has a lot more to offer if you can deal with the added size.

I owned both and I sold the X Compact when Sig came out with 15 round mags for the XL. The XL is much more versatile. The smaller footprint makes CCW much easier yet you have the capacity equivalent to the X Compact. It’s also optics ready just like the X Compact. The XL just makes better sense for my needs.

I own the X Compact and a friend mine owns the XL… I’ve put a minimum of a few hundred rounds through both. For those wanting minimal… go XL. But since I have slightly larger hands, I wanted a gun that didn’t feel tiny while firing. The P320X Compact is small but holds 15+1 and is pretty easily concealed. And it’s super fun to shoot. Thats just my 2¢

P365 XL magazine is tight. The 15 round magazine is even tighter. Uplula magazine loader is a must.

Sig should add more with a purchase... as much as they get for their products. A cheap mag loader would be a blessing... especially with how hard it is to load some of their mags.

I have both of these pistols. I use to have the p365 and when I got the P365xl, I decided to sell the p365 because the xl felt so much better in my hands. I put the Hogue grip on my P365xl and it feels even better now. Now I recently got the p320x compact and I really love it too. However, the xl and the xcompact have a lot of differences in terms of how they fit into my hands. The 365xl doesn't allow as good of a grip with both of my hands as does the xcompact. With the 365xl my thumb is very close to the slide stop whereas it is a mile away from it with my 320xcompact, so I can get a better grip with the xcompact. Ever once in a while the 365xl doesn't lock back on the last round and this may be because my thumb may be pressing the slide lock down slightly because I can't get the perfect grip with it. Also, I notice a slight difference in the trigger angle when my index finger is sitting on the 365xl versus the 320xcompact. The 365xl is angled outward and the 320xc is almost straight up and down. Also, the 365xl trigger pull is a little more crunchy than the 320xcompact. I love both pistols but I prefer the 320xcompact. Also, I may be a little more accurate with the 320xcompact and that might be because it just feels better in my hands and my grip is better with it too.

I just bought the X-Compact a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I do see the issue with the slide release which forces some to adjust how they hold their thumbs. I’m a slim guy and I actually wish I would’ve bought the 365 XL, especially for carry. I’d like to keep my X-Compact for home and pick up the 365 XL for EDC when I can afford it.

I just bought a P365XL. yes it carries well and is reliable and worthy. But check the trigger and be certain it won't bother you. It is has a lot of creep at the wall. Horrible trigger IME.

Nice comparison don’t see to many videos comparing the two. I had 365Xl didn’t like to felt small in my hands I wear Xl gloves had a hard time finding room for my support hand. X compact seems thicker might be better for me I’ll have to hold one & see

I agree on the manual safety...i am first time gun owner and didnt consider or realize there was no slide lock or safety on 320xc. I understand the newer Sig365 does have a safety. Regarding 320xc ...was also little suprised the slide lock protrudes since the stand p320 has slide lock shrouded to prevent snags. I will probably trade my 320xc down the road when i find something better. Also a huge fan of s&w revolvers, m&p shield 2 for new ccw carriers

I like the old slide lock better, but the new one's are much easier to push. Regardless though, have a friend who bought one (x-compact) with the slide lock being so hard to push, Nobody could do it. Even after a year or two, it' still very, very hard (but not impossible at-least). Racking the slide is a must.

The pistol does not need a safety. If your following the safety rules and have a good holster, the gun will not discharge!

Accidents happen! Let’s not disregard that statistically backed fact. Not sure your situation but 99% of us will never use our firearm outside the range or hunting, and thats a great thing. That 1% choose to have a 50/50 chance of an accident every single day of their lives for an event that might happen just once. What’s wrong with having the option of an external safety or at the least a decocker? To shave half a second? To have an excuse for consistent regular training? If your carrying you should be highly trained to do so. Situational awareness and an external safety in my opinion is the way to. Call me old school but I’m sure your friends and family would appreciate it. I’m not the worlds greatest shot

You do understand it is a dual action trigger, that is why there is no safety on Sig Sauer! Most pistols do not have that and require a safety. You can beat them up, and they will not discharge. They include multiple safeties inside the action of the pistols to protect from accidental discharge.

I love the X-Compact. I've also bought different frame sizes, barrels, etc to create my own. The X-Compact out of the box is great though. Thinking about the P365XL

What frame sizes did you buy? I absolutely love the grip but I'm concerned it might be too big for CCW. I was hoping to be able to swap out the grip to a subcompact on occasion to at least test it out. I was otherwise thinking of one of the 365s as an EDC if the X-Compact didn't work out (though I know I'd keep it anyway).

@@ForOrAgainstUs The subcompact grip on the P320 is great (my favorite), but it won't fit in any regular p320 holster. It will only fit in a holster made for the subcompact specifically. I have no clue why they'd make it like that or why they haven't offered a subcompact grip frame with a regular trigger guard.

If you want a dedicated EDC, The P365XL is KING. Best CCW on the market by now by far. If you want the G19 sized "do it all" gun, then of these two the XCompact is better. Though I think it's bested by the P10C and that's hard for me to say because I'm somewhat of a "Sig guy" and love them, but everything I've heard and read says the P10C is better.

im a sig guy as well but im still new to gun world since mar 2020. I'm a guy who is on the fence on glocks but generally I'm 'anti glock' in terms of 'i dont want to own one but i'm willing to learn to use one for the end times' My gun family is mostly S&W and Sig, and a CZ. Hoping to get one or two more sigs, a sig rifle, a couple more S&W revolvers, some colt revolvers and 3-5 1911s, 1 or 2 more CZ, thats most of the ones on top of my want list. My A list would have to be guns that can be used by lefties but I have no idea if a particular or all Walthers are good for lefties, but either way, certain Walther models such as PDP or PPQ are on my wishlist.

You can ONLY add a Sig red dot or Leopold Delta Point..NOT a Trijicon RMR!! I like it so much I found a guy that re-cut the slide for a Trijicom RMR/Holsun and mounted a Holosun 508T...NOW IT IS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a falling block safety, the striker ought not move forward. The XL has two safetys, 1 is the falling block and the other is the inability for the striker to move forward unless the trigger is held back. The XL replaced my EDC M&P Shield 380 EZ. I made the switch because of 4 more rounds per magazine.

I first wanted the P365XL right from the start but I had trouble reaching mag release. So then it was between the G3, M17, Glock 19 & one other that I can't remember right now. The G3 I had trouble with the safety. It was really hard to engage & disengage, and YES, I like safeties on all my firearms. The Glock I had trouble reaching mag release. So, initially I ended up with the M17. It fit my hands just right. The slide release, the mag release, and the safety were all right where to me, they feel awesome. So, I'm an idiot tho' cuz I didn't think to check for an aftermarket mag release for the P365XL... if I had, I'd have definitely bought it first. To me, it's the perfect Sig!!! For it's clown car size, it feels so good in my hand. Now, I'm looking for a hammer fired... I'd love an FN FNX 9, but because they're virtually extinct, I'll probably end up with a CZ. Either the P 7 or some 75 type. Any other suggestions??? I considered the Taurus TH9 but don't know if I'd wanna trust my life to it. Oh yeah, maybe a IWI Jericho. But they're pretty much a CZ... Again, I'm open to suggestions. FN midsize 509 is also definitely a beautiful option. But again, it's striker.

@@Torqd_Off I think hammer fired DA/SA is the way to go with a carry gun. I love striker fired, but they're not the most safe option (with or without a safety). I still have no problem with people carrying them, with or without a manual safety. The odds of being shot from some accident is very rare if you follow the rules of safety and don't do stupid things (like bad holsters or carry a gun in a holster intended for a different gun). I only mention that, because it's what caused the SIG P320 shot that led to the newest lawsuit against them. (assuming that's true).

I was a Glock guy too until I held, then shot the 365...fits my hand perfect (I can allllmost palm a basketball 🏀) but the rounded grip converted me and then there’s the trigger!!! Blows my g43 out of the water and is the size of my g42 (.380) and I found at least my trigger is better than the other 12 or so pistols I have from Glock to cz to beretta...just so honest impartial review/opinion (although I’m a 365 guy now)

I used the slide release from my original P320 compact and it's a non issue on the x-compact module. Would have been nice if Sig shrouded it some like on the original grip modules. Good review on two awesome guns!

+ProForceSecurity I have the same issue with the slide catch. It sticks out way too far for my grip. Uncomfortable enough that it may be a dealbreaker for me with the Xcarry. I have one and not sure that I will keep it. I hear that Sig has a lower profile slide catch from another Sig that will work on the Xcarry. Also, the Xcarry is not cut for an RMR. It will accept a Romeo1 or a DeltaPoint Pro. There are a couple of companies that make aftermarket plates so you can mount an RMR but not from the factory. Good work and thanks for the review.

I love my 365xl. I carry one in the chamber appendix. Have no worries about accidental discharge. Very accurate at 3 meters, 7 meters and 15 meters. Shot clean and dirty rounds and it hasn't given me any issues. P365XL is my favorite by far. Grip matters for concealed carry and it has never printed. When you hold it you can just crush the grip like it was made just for you.

Stack thumbs and the slide release is a none issue. Becoming more mainstream since so many people are locking slides back mid string on modern pistols. Besides that the lever as is is actually a pleasure to use for you guys who don’t gross motor the slide. 👊

I have that loader, and I keep them all loaded and the slides back for the first month or so just to break everything in.... My 365 was a lot less stiff and the slide release actuated much easier after that. I like to fire 115 hollow points out of the gun, the recoil impulse is much more muted and its still fun to shoot and a decent round to carry. Its also cheaper to use and carry at the same time, firing what you intend to use is always helpful.

I used a toothbrush handle to hold down the follower while I fed in the rounds. I thought my M17 with the 17 round and the 21 round magazines were tough, but they were nothing compared to the 12 round magazines in my P365XL. I manually emptied them a few times and they are a lot better now…. But yeah, they’re still tough!!!

Have the X Compact as a 'winter' carry, considering the 365 or the XL as a 'summer' carry. Have left the X Compact stock except for adding Talon Grips. Figure if I don't like them long term, they're easily removable. So far, I like this handgun. A lot. It inspires confidence.

I’m just now looking at the 365XL. They could have put a picatinny on there. I also don’t like how far the trigger comes forward before reset but I do like that the trigger drops at 6 o’clock. And I can’t help but think, “if they got 12 rounds in that mag well, surely they could have gotten 14. I think I’ll just keep doing burpees so I can conceal the 320X Compact. I bet that looks mighty fine with a Romeo 1 Pro and TLR-7. It’s hard to shame 17 round magazines 🤗

I love sig, and that 320 is beautiful, but that left had slide release is horrible! And the mags are super hard to fill. It'll take more than a couple times, but I figure a good strong spring is a good thing.

I CCW the p320 x compact RXP with tlr 7a and (g19 gen 5 mos with olight and holosun 507c v2) summer and winter conceals perfectly but that is for my body type. I’m a lefty and like the slide release for us lefty’s. Werkz holsters are awesome with this. I have the p365, shield 9 plus and just don’t like small guns they don’t fit my hands I gave those to my wife. You have to get what you can shoot good and can conceal. I would pick the p320 but again that’s me I’m not knocking the p365xl.

365xl is missing a slide stop/release on the right side for lefty's. The 320 has crazy high bore axis thanks to the frame design of the low beaver tail compared to the 365.

I have the SIG P365 not the XL for deep concealment with 13 rounds can't say I'd replace it with anything on the market right now l love it for me I'm so interested in the SIG P320 X compact don't have one it's bigger than the P365 harder to conceal but it's concealable and is a gun I'd feel very comfortable in a combat situation for me the size is perfect while still being extremely close to a duty sized gun the grip is very nice compared to the original P320 a huge improvement l really want the SIG P320 X compact l think the SIG P320 X compact is the best all around 9mm on the market and I'm a big Walther P99 PPQ PDP fan but think the SIG P320 X compact is a slightly better gun

I bought the P365XL recently...LOVE it! I love that it offers most (if not all) the benefits of a larger gun, but in a small format that's perfect for EDC. Out of the box, with lots of struggle and the help of a "speed loader" tool, I WAS able to get 12 rounds into the magazine. Since I don't get much range time these days, I periodically unload and reload the magazines to help break them in. Out of curiosity, is there any harm in swabbing a small amount of gun oil inside the magazine while cleaning? I don't mean to leave it a mess, but maybe just enough to help the piece the rounds slide against (I have no idea what it's called, sorry.) move easier? It seems like it's very "catchy" or "dry" feeling.

No harm in the magazine. Too much can destroy your ammo though (over time) if your primers aren't sealed. Oil tend to leach (esp penetrating oil, because some people use WD-40 on guns as a lube). Oil in the magazine can make fowling build up with too much also, but I'm one to believe a gun cleaning includes cleaning the magazines. You can disassemble the magazine easily, wipe it down with oil, then pretty much wipe all/most of the oil off and it will still be oiled, assuming you don't scrub the oil off.

@@deucedeuce1572 wd-40 is a solvent isn't it? Wouldn't use it for final lubing, but maybe for cleaning. As for lubing the mag, I know that Glock recommends not to lube theirs so I would check with Sig to see if there is some sort of mag maintenance they recommend

I absolutely love my P365xl and I want to like the Xcarry but I can’t get over that high bore axis. I don’t own the Xcarry but on the ones I’ve handled and dry fired the trigger break is fine but the trigger reset is weak. I’m still on the fence with it.

For me I think the P320 XCompact is a better overall gun, but if your primary concern is conceal carry then the P365xl will be my choice. The P320 XCompact has a better trigger, softer shooting in my opinion even with the higher bore axis, thickness fills out my hands better (I even bought the large grip module because the medium felt too small), more room for glove shooting if you live in states that gets really cold during the winter (or if you wear shooting gloves), has a standard accessory rail, and the trigger unit fits into smaller P320s with shorter grips as well as larger P320s with longer grips and barrels/slides. While the P365xl feels too small in my hands (part of my pink hangs off and I use a hogue grips to make it thicker), it's much lighter, thinner, has a longer barrel, and still shoots very well compared to the tiny microcompacts/single stacks out there. All of this with 3 less rounds in the flush fit mag. You can get the 15 round mag that sticks out a little bit if you feel under gunned, and put the trigger unit into an even smaller P365 frame if you want to conceal it even more (you can pocket carry if you switch over to the smaller barrel, slide, and grip module).

Buying a new model should not be a problem, to me the XL is the better gun just because its slimmer and more purpose driven and just as feature rich. I have the Tac Pac P365. I think I may get the XL in the future for the Optics capabilities.

SIG should have designed the P320 from the ground up instead of using the P250 frame style. The P320 could have a much lower bore axis. The P365/XL is the perfect frame/slide height.

Sorry, but the bore axis being a little higher than average absolutely does nothing to hinder shooting performance for someone who knows what they're doing. Many shooters and myself can accurately throw many rounds down range very quickly with no problem. It's like saying a 3.9" barrel is going to make you more accurate than a 3.7" barrel - it's such a small detail it absoluy does not matter. Not to mention the angle of the p320 frame and grip offsets the bore axis. At the end of the day, it simply doesn't matter. The p320 is a solid, reliable, tank that is easy to fix and maintain of need be. Also the truth is there was absolutely nothing wrong with the p250. Too many armchair soldiers couldn't shoot the p250 accurately because they simply were not skilled. So sig simply conformed to make more money. Is the p320 a better product? No. It's the same. Just a different design.

@@WCRV I've been shooting for over 20 years. Many factors come to play, caliber, bore axis, weight, grip angle, shooter grip. With that said, SIG still could have designed the P320 from the ground up.

Biggest differences is the 320 xcompact is thicker and has thicker rear sights +3 more rounds & the p365xl has a little longer barrel and lower bore axis.. with that being said I own the xcompact but the p365 xl has more advantages over the p320

I think the P320 X Compact looks to be too tall forward of the trigger guard. Looks like a Taurus P111 G2. The P365 XL looks more pleasing to my eye.

Thank you. Just my opinion, I personally like the APX "Target" slightly more. It will cost you around the same as the X Compact ($599). It brings 4 mags, removable optics plate, fiber optic front sight with black rear, longer barrel for more accuracy, and a good trigger right out of the box. However, It is a full size pistol so keep that in mind for edc. But between the APX "Centurion" and the P320 X Compact, I equally like them the same. X Compact will bring you tritium night sights out of the box. However, the APX will cost you $200 less to the point that you can add any aftermarket sights of your choice, and still be slightly under the price tag of the X Compact. It really was stupid but on the x compact if you put a delta point pro on there you can get a rear iron sight that connects to the back of the red dot. Its made for it by luepold and works great.

I just think that the comfort and the balance of the p320 in the hand is much better than the p365xl. Plus I greatly prefer the trigger of the P320. I am not crazy about the trigger in the P365. I think that the P365X feels better and more balanced than the P365XL. Maybe if you really wanted something super small and light and even pocketable, go with the Ruger LCP max. Otherwise I find the P320 X Compact so much more enjoyable in every way than the P365 series.

Do you realize you are using you index finger to grip the firearm? That finger is used to press the trigger not grip the firearm and does not belong on the grip.
