I just discovered about this dude, and this video is the most honest tutorial video with mistakes and errors but doesn't make him looks less great or sloppy. He's very talented musician. Salute to you, brother!

Christopher Storey you are one of the best guitarist!

he says in the video. It's because the scale is larger at the top than the bottom because he tunes up a step and the tension made his strings snap all the time. However, he still probably likes the tension on the higher strings. It also looks cool

The difference is there's extra string length/scale for the lower strings so they aren't all sloppy and loose.

I'm new here, and man do I think you are awesome! Since I'm a bit slow, could someone please tell me the arpeggio sequence he's used (simply written here in order) as I'm a little confused by which key it's in (I get that it modulates be seems to centre around an Eb major/C# minor sound) and the tuning of the guitar is taking a little for me to get my head around, though it's an awesome tuning!

how do etherial guitars play? I'm thinking about ordering one soon
@Ghost1711010 жыл бұрын
I've heard they are pretty bad. They make interesting graphics, but the quality is very iffy. Stick to builders like .strandberg*, Skervesen, Daemoness, and KxK.
@ffta7079 жыл бұрын
Mason Stanley you are exactly right. they sound really shitty. get a guitar with good pickups and some nice wood for a fraction of the price and you wont regret it Merritt Mussorgsky
@merrittmussorgsky29379 жыл бұрын
thanks guys. I thought it might be to good to be true. I'll give it whirl anyways just for shits and giggles. That 10 string shibito just looks like a theme park of fun to play around with. If it sucks I'll just get another Conklin, I can always count on them to make real art when it comes to guitars. I am interested in checking out a strandberg in the near future.
@merrittmussorgsky29379 жыл бұрын
No shit? Well thanks man, yeah I'll give it go. I mean why not right!? It's less than a third as much as any 8 or 9 string Conklin and the graphics are so innovative. I'll slap a couple lace passive pickups in it, scallop the neck and it should be good to go. I mean when else or where else am I going to find a 10 string beast like that for that price...hopefully it'll sound and feel as good as it looks. We'll see. Thanks for the feedback
@myamarana698 жыл бұрын
+Merritt Mussorgsky for what kind of music do you use a 10 string? O.o sure, it Djents and it works for some jazz...but else idk. Enlighten this stupid soul please

Did he say he tunes b on 7 and f# to f# on the six strong part.
@NathanWisdom8 жыл бұрын
It's drop B with an extra high F# basically he is using a 7 string for an extra high string, although it does have the low B a 7 normally has. The bottom 6 strings are just tuned up
@MrBazz4206 жыл бұрын
im trying to figure out what would be the optimal string gauge for this setup on my 7 string,
@ryanschindler9236 жыл бұрын
a lighter set for sure, like some 9's or maybe 8's, anything heavier will have a higher chance of snapping under the tension of such a high tuning.
@gallonegro16205 жыл бұрын
I don't like this tuning, it's kind of pointless to me but to each their own
@ryanschindler9235 жыл бұрын
@@gallonegro1620 Its good if you want to do a drop tuning on a 7 string but not have the low muddy tone you can get on the bottom string by doing a drop tuning. Its not a super common tuning but it seemed to work for ASP so who am I to saying anything. Did that help at all?
