Buffet dress means wearing a loose dress to “all you can eat or buffet restaurants”. The loose dress means not having to worry about a tight waistband following a huge meal.

It could also be called the "Thanksgiving" dress here in the states because we tend to feast out of control on Thanksgiving Day. :O)

It is a name for loose fitting dresses devised during the Covid lockdown. These dresses have been around for years but I googled Buffet Dress and found loads of patterns and descriptions of the term. So, it does exist but it is just a new name for a tiered dress. Personally I would look even larger in one of those dresses!!!

I love the paisley fabric! Simplicity still has lots of room to improve their sizing. I am at the tail end of sizing for some of the patterns and don’t fit at all in others😢. But they were lovely styles. That orange floral fabric is divine!!!

Crikey I had no idea dress patterns were still being used. I remember going to the local haberdashery shop and browsing through those giant pattern catalogues. It was always very exciting choosing a couple of patterns for new summer dresses as a child then going down to the indoor market stalls to choose some fabrics. Is it actually cost effective to make your own T shirt tops these days? We used to make our own clothes for economic reasons. I'm guessing people who sew these days do it more for the pleasure of being creative?

Why are you (along with some other retailers) doing a 50% sale on simplicity patterns currently? Is something you do annually at the same time? I’m just curious :)

No it isn't annual it is dictated by the pattern company themselves, they just tell us when they are putting the patterns on sale so we can inform our lovely customers.
