I'm curious, why do you think your 160 is not doing the job? It looks from the quick peak to be doing fine... maybe too wet of a setting? I heard it's better to have a skimmer that is rated slightly smaller than one that is rated too large for my tank... If it's too large, they say it will not perform... Then again, I only know what I hear and read. I'm interested in your follow up to see if how it worked out. Thanks!

I didn’t say it wasn’t doing the job. I said it was overloaded. A skimmer or filter that doesn’t have to run at full capacity is always better.

Thank you bro! I appreciate your support and feedback! The skimmer helps maintain low nitrate levels by decreasing nitrate buildup. It removes organics/waste etc before it has the chance to breakdown and release nitrogen compounds. It’s needed for large saltwater aquariums where it is crucial that the nitrate level is very low.
