EVERY gun has to be optics ready. Some guns are not designed for long-distance shooting, and these folks don't seem to understand that. The ONLY reason in my mind would be for someone that's tiny with tiny hands.

This is meant for extreme concealment and optics would mess that up. Only thing that MIGHT fit on this is a deltapoint micro.

Been carrying the OG bodyguard for a few years now. I will definitely be getting this version. Looks like S&W addressed every single issue I have with the old version... the trigger, the slide, the capacity... very well done.

I figured going that small and worrying about problems,the revolver was the solution for me. But I’m going to check this new .380 out when it hits the shelves.

Honestly, it's possible that they are going to release a 2.0 version of it. I hope they make it optics ready (every self defense pistol nowadays needs to be able to mount a red dot sight) and fix the trigger, i.e. make it a little lighter and crisper, give it a shorter and more tactile feeling reset.

This gun is a Smith & Wesson not a XD. U made a really good purchase. I have an LCP Max and a Max 9 and love them both. The LCP Max 380 and the Kahr CW380 are in my opinion the best 380's I've ever owned so far. My Kahr CW380 shoots very smooth and as flat as a board and I love it, and its even smaller then the LCP Max and conceals like a thread in my pocket but lacks capacity so I carry that as a back up. U made a good purchase, the LCP's have a long track record and the LCP Max is the perfected version. Enjoy your LCP Max its a great firearm and conceals and disappears and carry's so nice especially in the summer months.

I own the original, a treasured gift from a client. Unfortunately, being a lefty it sits in the safe...looks like the 2.0 wouldn't work for me either. My edc is a Glock 26 (Gen 5, fully ambi) with a G17 backup mag...but my backup gun - coat, ankle, or pocket is a SW 442. I have no plans to reload the revolver so the right handedness doesn't matter there. I'm not unhappy with either of my carry pieces, but I do wish more options existed for truly lefty friendly small autos.

Right handed? Shooting left is common. It’s how your grip, ie, support hand, is.

One suggestion: the center area on the left and right side of the grip has very mild texturing, compared to the front and back straps. I'd like to see that changed to be the same as the front and back straps, just like on the M&P 2.0 (not the metal-framed version, those were even worse) :)

I just got my Bodyguard 2 and cannot rack the slide more than half way. I admit I'm not as strong as I was when I was younger, but I have no problem racking the slides on my many other S&W and Ruger guns. So I can't figure out why S&W made this slide so damn hard to rack.
