As an OW1 Ball main, I’m enjoying new Sombra a lot. She plays that flanky burst damage backline destroying playstyle, but doesn’t leave my team without a tank.

The only part of the rework I'm really bothered by is that attempting to use Virus takes you out of stealth but does not active the ability unlike hack, shooting your gun, melee, or EMP. It feels clunky since mentally I'm used to everything else taking me out of stealth then activating but not this.

I'm feeling this too, I've adjusted by putting it later in the chain. I'll come out of invis with a hack>start shooting>virus to finish off>transloc out. Even if you don't get the kill it forces someone to need to heal.

People are complaining because she never gets picked in low ranks so they are not used to playing against her at all. As A Sombra main who hasn't played the rework yet, what the hell is the point of hacking people now outside of 200IQ Ult cancels? Is the 2 Seconds virus speed up that's gonna reveal you to healers or give a heads up for a 180 headshot really worth the effort now ?

Depends on context. The faster damage ticks on a hacked Virus can be the difference between getting a kill or not if the person you're attacking gets attention from their supports. Particularly from less bursty ones like Mercy. If you're going for someone who's isolated then yeah there is no point.

That's Moira Ult, Sigma Ult, Bob, Pharah Ult and in rare situations maybe Reaper and Lucio? + Mercy's, Echo's and Pharah right after they fly up. Almost every other ability that can be cancelled (Dead-eye, Dragon, Freeze etc) Requires some kind of clairvoyance to consistently get value

Other then Ball we still do have that hard counter going for us xD The issue is, Modern Sombra doesn't have the damage to capitalise on tank hacks, and for Team plays it requires exceptional positioning. Shield or Spin can't be hacked from front, you either need High ground or risk getting sandwiched. Hacking Sigs grasp Is minor value on a usually already dead character (Last ditch effort on the Sigs part to retreat) I will say tho , yeah , Hack is extremely useful on Bad tanks that push ahead out of position. There Hack can effectively punish a tank with no back line suport

I think you're drastically underestimating the flank potential. Yes, you have to be way more careful with TP and wait for an isolated target, but you can oneclip people in like 0.5 seconds with hack then virus then shoot. Just be ready to leave earlier than you're used to because TP takes time now

So many engagements lost by default bc 50% of the dps is stealthed doing nothing in the opening movements. I get that it's a highly nuanced playstyle but god *damn* that's infuriating to watch. Both fitzy and stevo are near-impossible to sit through nowadays, for this reason.

As a player who has played a lot of sombra I just am really not liking this rework. It feels like I have to work twice as hard to add close to as much value to the team and overall it just doesn’t feel like sombra anymore. The translocator usage is so abrasive now and turning and throwing to use it just doesn’t feel good. The control over her translocator in the old sombra was the most fun part of her kit. Now it just feels clunky, feels bad. Now I know how hog mains felt when their hero got gutted 😔

Unpopular opinion here but I think Sombra is being mischaracterized over time. Her hack has lost its original purpose and now not only is her passive gone, but she is also no longer a stalker. You've got to play aggressively or not at all
