The disaster top acids over the spin were very cool!

I have those same ST60 boots, picked up the complete stock pair at a local goodwill for $10. I shaved the boot though, I was riding USD VII souls for awhile & Adapt UHMW souls on them. Rode them with Trust Liners, USD Phoenix liners. I was never worried about them breaking, I don’t know what it is but Salomon boots don’t seem to get brittle like other old hard boots do. The only thing that really goes bad with them is the stock shock absorbers deteriorating & the liners. I just wish everyone wasn’t trying to sell these old boots for 100s of dollars.

Love the colorway of the st60s. It's one of my favorite salos to look at. It's a shame the red soul frame isn't ufs, or I would have been riding it in the video! Yeah, like I said, Salomons seem to hold up a little better than most older skates, but I have seen cases of them falling apart. So it really depends on how they were stored over time, I think. It's definitely a shame people ask so much for them now.

@@THEBLADINGCODE it was a good color way, black with a little pop of red always go well together. I tossed the red soul/frame, since they’re not separate UFS parts. Then again you could probably cut the souls off flush to the frame wall & use the frame itself. Mine still had the old stock wheels too, the shock absorbers were toast. I wish I still had my original ST8 boots, they were the first aggressive skates I got as a kid back in 99’

@relentless_fps the shock absorbers are always way too old to be used. SL shocks work well with a little modification.
@relentless_fps9 ай бұрын
@@THEBLADINGCODE yeah they don’t fair too well lol. The SL shock absorbers are a good replacement or anything with a similar thickness & density to the originals. I can’t believe you were riding them with the stock liners

@relentless_fps yeah! The stock liners are the only thing I find that really "fits properly" in the boot. Especially with the shape of the back of the cuff. I tried putting my intuition premiums in, but wasn't a fan of the way it felt or looked. So went with the stock liners and even threw on some salomon frames to really get that "Salo feel" 🤣

Salomons have wildly different flex between different models. Not sure where the ST60 fits but they look like a more flexy one. On the other hand ST1’s, ST10’s and Feinbergs are very stiff.
@THEBLADINGCODE9 ай бұрын
I have a pair of the navy st10s, and a pair of the black/gray st80s. I don't recall the flex being much different, BUT it has been a while since I've skated either of those. So you could definitely be right

@@THEBLADINGCODE try the st10’s again. The st80 cuffs are on the flexy side. Yes, I’m a nerd
