Think about a earth based tank spec for shamans, entirely supported and could very easily be implented. Or a demon hunter that turns to the void instead of fel or even a void paladin because why can the priests wield the void but the paladins can't? A side from new specs we have so many old hero classes from Warcraft 3 that are not yet playable in the game.
We got the Blademasters which are one of the coolest classes out there, we got necromancers, we got Wardens such as Maiev and even Far seers. A lot of these are already mixed in with the playable classes but that is exactly why they can become a new spec and not a brand new class. Imagine a warrior with mirror images, or death knights turning into spellcasters and becoming full on necromancers.
Let us examine each playable class and what new spec would fit best and how it could be implemented. After all Blizzard just added a new spec for evokers so why not do it for the other classes as well?

Love our ideas but i have some more suggestions. I think bow users are under represented in wow I would like to see a DK bow user that would have similar skills as Sylvanas, or a ranged rogue though that would be a nightmare in pvp, also for priest an inquisitor spec would be awesome as there is no ranged holy damage dealer, for warrior a gladiator spec (2h spear + shiled) either tank or dps would be fun as well.

I would like to see them completly delete certain specs and combine others to make super specs. I don't think disc and holy priest should be 2 specs for example they should just be discipline, I think demonology and BM hunters are similar in that they are extremely annoying in PVP and neither of their spec fantasy is really that great just give cool fuck off pets to affliction and destro and delete. Once we have combined and deleted certain stuff I would be down to trying some of the better options you mentioned such as blade master necromancer. I think blade master while cool is literally just arms warrior with less armor which I guess is cool but kinda not really that much different. Maybe they could do a quest to become a blademaster and unlock skinned abilities and armor sets. I think that's the sort of class quests the game misses but I don't want 500 specs running around causing balance problems.

Battle-mage is already a class present in lore and we can find many battlemage NPCs in-game, mainly affiliated with the Kirin Tor. They tend to use a one handed sword + a staff accessory in their left hand. They strengthen their armor with magic and use spells to empower their melee attacks as well as to deal direct damage (we can see them use many AOE magic-fused melee attacks like arcane whirlwinds). This spec could be the easiest to implement in my opinion.

@@sewerynbiko4917 maybe add in more mobility, this could also be a good reason to bring back mage armor spells (frost and fire armor) to make up for the lack of it since it would be, for the first time, a cloth melee spec. They would however need to elaborate more on it and perhaps make It more like the different stances in early warrior : fire armor would grant increased crit chance, armor and a thorn like effect when struck. Frost armor would grant more armor than the others, slow attack and movement speed when struck and. Arcane armor also boosts your armor to the same amount as the fiery one does, but it would also grant you a boost in haste and movement speed.

​@@wassim_bn8750arcane armor could provide low armor buff but huge magic resistance or make it so your mana acts like a shield with attacks being partly absorbed by your mana. They could also add a cool mechanic where you have to weave melee and spells together. Something like using a magic spell increases the damage of your next melee attack and adds that element to your next couple of attacks. Also they would probably need something like maelstrom where attacks reduce the cast time of your next casted ability. I've always thought this would be a really cool way to be a melee clothy.

For Monks, you can do a ranged DPS type of spec. Make it like the benders from Avatar. D&D has something like this and I think it would be perfect. They harness the primal magical elements like Shamans but using the spirits of the elements to help them channel it.

I think spellbreaker should be a paladin spec. Battlemage should be more like the blood mages of quelthalas, with various summoning spells and silences, stuns, etc.. warlocks already use shadowflame with their demon bolts and meteorites (hand of guldan).

A new druid spec could be a Keeper of the grove spec. They take the form of a centaur or dryad. This is a support dps class who specialize in buffing teammates and spawning treants.

Monks could have a DPS Firespeaker spec that is an homage to the Midsummer Fire Festival and Brother Korloff's monk fighting style from the Scarlet Crusade, or they could have a Chi-Bender spec that could be a kind of new support role.

Heritage Classes I say. Chronomancer for Nightborne, Warden for Night Elf, Shadow Hunter for Darkspear Trolls, Witch Doctor for Zandalari Troll, Tidesage or Witch for Kul'Tiran Humans, Spellbreaker for Blood Elves, Tinker for Gnome/Mechagnome/Goblin/Vulpera, Necromancer for Undead, Etc. Single or Duel Spec with the exception of the Tinkers having 4 Specs a Tank/Healer/DPS/Support.

I could see Hunters having a possibly of Beast Mastery re-worked into a possible tank spec. With the pet taking all of the aggro as the healers keep both the pet and the hunter alive. And a permanent misdirection where all the attacks from the hunter direct aggro to their pets as the pets cleave and AoE every mob around them. OR just not touch BM at all and make the tank spec by itself.

Necromancer aren't dead like DKs. So, I think it would be a spec better for Warlocks. I wish a Holy DPS spec for Priest and a Holy Magic DPS spec for Paladin with 1H sword and shield, or at least a build in the retribution spec.

that's a great idea but the Destruction Warlock already uses shadowflame. I see the Necromancer as a possible 4 Spac with Dark Forbidden Magic in Warlock. Soul splits / amani and knowledge from shadow lands fit much better than death knights taking away your armor and turning it into a witcher clone

Fun one! I do think stuff like Necro and Spellbreaker make better base classes. The way things are going I think support specs are what we'll get added to some existing classes so things like Time for Mage, Maybe a commander/leadership spec for Warrior or Pally, even a "animals help my friends" spec for hunter.

DK, a bastion like holy theme to futher push ghe idea of evil light. DH, wardens and Night warrior Druid, nature/poisen caster (next to the cosmic casts in balance) working in the idea that life and nature can do more than healing Mages, necromancers Warlocks, give it a name, but a spec where you play a melee demon and the warlock plays like the pet does now Hunter, see above Priest, a void style healer Monk, serpent style evoker Warrior, spear trowing melee/ mid range spec.

I can see a DH Warden. Look: -Maiev was the jailer os Illidan for Millenia, her job was literally to hunt and emprison a demon. -Maiev and the Wardens already have Glaives as their main weapon (only in another form). -Wardens are Elves. -Wardens wear mail. -They could be a kind of DH without a traditional Demon form, but with a shadow form just like Illidan gets in W3.

I'm always thinking about that.A light caster dps for priests, a fire paladin (cleanse with fire theme), a chronomancer for mages, a melee spec for warlocks similar to enhancement shamans, a caster rogue (like in w3), scythe wielding demon hunter OR elune warriors (they sacrifice themselves for power to defend azeroth, and are elves, so it could fit) nothing more to druids ofc, dark rangers for hunters, earth tank shamans, for monks every spec uses an animal god to get their powers so they can add a dps caster that uses the power of the red crane, necromancers for DKs and maybe a gladiator class for warriors, dual wielding 1h weapons. And there are many more options, like battle mages, void pallys, etc.

If priests had a chronomancy spec then if someone died in battle, they could have some combat rez spell that puts them back in time when they were alive, perhaps putting their hp and debuffs/status effects back to whatever it was 5 seconds before they died, meaning they could come back to life with debuffs if they were present at the time They could also have some haste-based attack spell just like Arcane Blast, where they will keep getting faster as they cast it but it will cost more mana.

@@wowvinnyr4306 in their duel cinematic sylvanas clearly refers her to as "nightwarrior" so why could it not be a class? Something that mixes warrior/rogue/melee type with priest/shadow priest/magic. It is not stated in anywhere that such a class could not be. We already have demon hunters who mixes melee abilities with fel magic, paladins use holy magic mixed with melee abilities so why not holy/shadow/arcane mixed with melee abilities. It could even use warrior rage kind of power generation. Of course most likely we will never see such a things, but there is absolutely nothing to imply that if would not be possible.

Conquest of Azeroth is a private server being worked on by Project Ascension with 21 custom classes and theyve basically done everything you just talked about.

When allied races first become Dks, they had the option between choosing 4 unique color schemes for there two or one-handed weapons. One of them being red like fire, this made a shit ton of player including myself, believe that Dks would get a fire spec. This spec would be based on summoning undead that were engulfed in unholy fire and then explode, with melee attacks dealing fire dmg and having short burning effects. It was also believable, because at the time bolvar was the Lich King.

Lol I agree with adding Chronomancers as a spec for Mages. However, in reality I must shy away from that idea. Only because it’s already a great class in the Ascension CoA Beta and I have a feeling that people would start telling Blizz to basically copy CoA’s Chronomancer so there wouldn’t be any confusion on how they’d make it work. Which might cause Blizz to finally check into Ascension enough for them to decide that they need to send them a cease & desist. So no Blademasters either unfortunately 😅😂 Also, you mentioned “Dark Shamans”. Last time I checked, in most fantasy lores, Warlocks are Dark Shamans. Like in Warcraft, I’m pretty sure all the og Orc Warlocks (like Ner’zhul and Gul’dan) were Shamans before they became Warlocks. They’re basically the same thing, Shamans are just the “good” ones. That’s how it always appeared to me.

For 4th Warlock Spec I will ask: Why dont make Blood Magic spec? Vampire thing. Its already into lore game and not mostly elfs. Zandalaris had big problem with Blood trolls too. Shadow Hunter Class or Shadow Hunter Spec under Hunters for a start. Like a lore quest line specific to the race for a certain class to unlock. Ex: a sect of blood elves learning druidism(most likely from the Tauren or another lore reason) for a quest line similar to unlocking allied races but rather a class or spec. Another ex: to make it fair for other races, lore can explain how other races within the Horde learned how to be shadow hunters. This theory can be done for all classes or specs but the lore needs to back it up, because there is repercussions when math or lore doesn't align or add up(contradictions).

I'd still like to see Necromancer as a standalone class. I'd want it to be a pet class, which we haven't had a new iteration of for a while. I'd like to see them have a healer spec where they are stealing life from enemies and healing allies with it. I like your interpretations and ideas but I would probably shift some things around. Like I would put a Chronomancer spec under Mage, and a Spellbreaker spec under Paladin. Classes and specs are always fun to think about though

I've always wanted a Druid that used life as a weapon, like vines, spores and insects. I know that balance has a few of these but it's mainly the moon and sun. So I think a caster that deals damage and debuffs enemies would be pretty neat. Mage absolutely needs a time based spec. Though I'd want a damage/healer hybrid, so not sure how they'd do that. Regardless, what I truly want, is simply human Druids. Kul'Tirans and Gilneans can be Druids but normal humans cannot? Stormwind humans have had the Night Elves living in their city since Classic and have had them as refugees for years now. With the Night Elf population so small, isn't it possible that they'd want to pass on their knowledge and help guide Humans to be more inline with nature? I'd make one my main, that human rep racial is really nice.

I thougth about a scavenger class with thinkerer would be a dps or support, gadgeteer a healer, and a Mechanist (using exoskeleton like armor) wielding siphoned raw elements (aura) void, nature, light, fel, death and arcane as a tank switching between them as the team requires or they themselfs.

IMHO Blizz should create new utylity specs based on whiping out all the utylity spells from other specs of given class. I.e. from mage they could put all the spells in new spec i.e. chrono. Unique feature of the chrono spec would be applying spells like time wrap on all party or all mages of other specs in the party. Similarly new priest spec could be a bard focused on spellls like divine hymn etc.

I think if Necromancer is introduced, it will be a mage spec. One of the most famous necromancers, Kel'thuzad, was a frost mage before he was a necromancer. It was a thirst for power and knowledge that set him on that path. Death knights do have an option for a 4th spec. The power of flame. There were death knight only weapons introduced to the game during BFA. They had 4 varieties. Frost, unholy, blood....and flame. So, who would be the instructor?? Bolvar, of course. I think way back in the day pre demon hunter, I would have made it a rogue 4th spec, and that spec would have looked less like Illidan circa Skull of Gul'dan, and would have looked more like Illidan circa War of the Ancients. It would have been more of a tank spec, giving rogues an option besides being a 3 spec dps. I mean, come on, Illidan was essentially tanking Mannoroth at the end of Well of Eternity, so clearly, it could have been. Since that wasn't the case, and Illidan was made less original, that would have been left? Well, they don't have a range spec, right?? Maybe they do pick up a few pointers from the Old God minions. Lay down some void patches, blast void bolts at enemies, void flame DoT's.... Rogues are definitely sentinels. They would be a rogue class that uses a 2 handed weapon like the Sentinel glaive, polearm or staff. Seems like that would make sense. Shamans, I have nothing more to add than, we have water, air and fire addressed in specs. Earth is long overdue. Warriors, I would say Blademasters are already covered by Arms. But what about fury... there are 2 modes of being a fury warrior. One uses 2 2-handed weapons, and the other uses 2 1-handed weapons. Split them. Make a single minded fury spec, and I would say call them a duelmaster or something. I'd also say the short races of the game, so, gnomes, diaper gnomes, vulpera and goblins are locked out of fury and arms, because two handed weapons are too unwieldy for them to use (especially two of them at once), but make them somehow gifted duelers, due to their small size. That's how I would have had it from the start, but since that pandora's box item is out of the box... I am seriously opposed to paladins being able to use void or chaos. And the suggestion that priests can do it, so, paladins should be able to, also.... NO. Why? Because priests serve a mythos. They can be priests of the light, priests of blood, priests of death, shadow, life, order, chaos... Paladins have a specific mythos, being that of light and order. Making them the antithesis of that turns them into something else, entirely. One thing about a void paladin.... essentially having a spec where paladins do all the same things one of the other specs do, but just with a different element is something that could be done cosmetically. I think an inquisitor spec would be a better idea. Make the shockadin a thing. Then, instead of a melee fighter with a 2 hander and using void (like a ret, except void, basically), you'd be making a ranged spec that doesn't already exist as an option for them. Priests have a lot of options. Voodoo, blood, order, chaos (though I think we'd see that dealt with better by warlocks), void... And to that, we already have light, shadow and order (in my opinion, disc is order), but yeah, making a witch doctor spec might make sense, because it is entirely possible that, if blood priests and voodoo priests are basically the same thing, or adjacent ideas, anyway, and at least they are not good aligned, which offers them a little more in the way of consolidation, so, what if a witch doctor existed. What would it do, exactly?? Augment in reverse. Rather than empowerment of the party, it hexes, curses and weakens enemies, making them get hit harder than before. And if you make one of the hexes cause a leech effect, they can also do minor healing based off the damage done by the melee, and create a vampiric embrace effect on a cd or something like that. Warlocks need to get their demon forms back. I don't care that Demon Hunters stole them from them, fact of the matter is, Illidan learned metamorphosis from a WARLOCK, namely, Gul'dan. Now, do warlocks necessarily need the metamorphosis ability they had in MoP or Warlords? I would say, no, just make it a cooldown that changes their ability to instant casted ones and give them more armor and survivability like what was done, but not based off demonic rage. With a new Burning Legion possibly being brought back, though, that would be a great time for Warlocks to be able to relearn Dark Apotheosis as a spec, and become tanks. Real tanks!! Not the "oh shit" ones that were brought forth from the MoP glyph, either. These warlocks summon a voidwalker and sacrifice it to grant him the abilities of the voidwalker, including their armor, threat generation, health and resistance to being squashed. They get their sweet demon wings back, and function like they did in MoP, once upon a time. Who would teach them this ability?? Kanrethod Ebonlocke, of course. Duh. AND lorewise, this might make sense, considering the demon forms that demon hunters use are Sargerei, while the ones used by warlocks are Nathrezir..... the same assholes who are showing back up in Azeroth, and many warlocks are already aware.

This is by far the most interesting comment in this comment section. I think that the blood/voodoo theme is more connected to warlock, as for me the priest is connected to some sort of cult. But I get your point here. Totally agree that a possible necromancer spec should fall in the mage class. It makes sense lore-wise. I don't see any room for the Fire DK. Lorewise the only one would be Bolwar, but his flames come from the dragons (wrathgate event). There's no reason for other DK to be able to wield flames. I'd love a Warrior sword and board support spec, with some decent damage output and huge utilities for the party. And make them able to wield spears in one hand. Regarding rogues, I don't think they are sentinels but rather spies, thieves and pirates. Would you please point anything hinting they could be sentinels lore-wise? I'd love the shockadin idea, without the shield. I've always felt that the metamorphosis should have remained a warlock's ability. I do agree regarding void pala and shamtank

i dont think they would add a new class soon, since we just got the dracthyr, but i would love to get class skins, or anything that would allow me to customize the look of my spells, like if you are a hunter you can make your shots( aimed, arcane etc.) to look like you are using shadow magic like dark rangers, or let demonology warlocks change their demons for undead ( just comsetic) , add more options to customize your character taht would be awesome.

Okay, hear me out. We have Allari, using a Scythe as a Demon Hunter. Wouldn't it be appropriate to have something like a Souleater Demon Hunter that could basically be a 2H Weapon Demon Hunter spec. Perhaps a spec that works a bit like shadow priest or unholy DK where you essentially deal damage through psychic torment aswell as physical damage?

What come to my mind about new specs : - Warrior -> Riders : with momentum mechanic and a dismount if you go under 40% health. That open all cavalry you can think of, like Knights, wolf-riders,... - Paladin -> Void Warden : Can you all picture the armor plate set from Ny'alotha ? Use of temporary extra limbs, aberration resilience,... - Deathknight -> Deathriders : just like the Warrior proposal, but add more decay after your passage, maybe ghost of friendly riders for an epic charge,... - Shaman -> Azerite warden : strenght of the earth with Azerite property - Druid -> Drust follower/Heartsbane sorcerer : charm on the ground (like totem), "natural oriented" curse, "build-your-pet" - Warlock -> Necromancer : easier to implement than downgrading DK to cloth wearer. Hunter : already full. Mage : I'm ok with Chronomancer. Demon hunter : ok too with the void. Rogue : not entirely convince with the sudden mail/plate adjustement. priest, monk : difficult to add more... That said, it's a wishfull thinking, because adding a new spec will shake the "Legion" expansion : new artifact weapon, maybe new "heroes" for the mission,...

We still havent had a true Ranged Hero Class. Tidesage should be a playable Hero Class from BFA. They cast water and void magics and can have 3 specs. A dot dealing spec (Shadow Priest/Affliction Lock) Straight Damage Dealer (Frost Mage/Destro Lock) and a Healer Spec (Priest / Shaman Hybrid) . How cool would that be?

the shaman tank would be amazing I can see fit so well with earth shields and the elementals help in some abilities keeping flame shock to pull packs from range, keeping some totems too it fits too well, a terrible spec to balance if they do it correctly bcs having BL on a tank, having, BR, Reincarnation, the earth elemntal to have an off tank in m+ it would just go crazy I want to play it right now

As much as the idea of new specs being added is a cool idea, just like new races or classes, I dont think its a good move. Balance is already hard enough with as many of them as there are, and I firmly believe that augmentation evokers were something blizzard wanted to do at the start, but was both hesitant concerning player perception of a support spec, as well as it just not being ready in time for the launch of the expansion. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that they have trouble letting standard damage meters read that kind of information, and were afraid that players would write it off as a failure just because the personal damage numbers were low. Many casual players did after all have a negative response to augvokers as we saw.

While a true Necromancer spec for DK would be great, it would contradict Unholy which is a pseudo-necromancer, think Army of the Dead, Apocalypse and a couple other talents like Raise Abomination(yes I know its PvP), they could simply rework Unholy to be more of an actual Necromancer. The argument is valid that is could go to Warlocks over DKs and I wouldn't overly mind. A 4th DK spec could either be fire based as per Bolvar being "firey lich king" for a bit or having a four horsemen spec, seeing as us DK players quite literally made them in legion wouldn't be too far fetched to say "sod it, we made 4 horsemen, now I wanna be one" and they could give us the new Deathcharger model as a combat mount, of course I have no idea what they could do to balance it with the movement speed being mounted but the idea of actually having an almost Cavalry spec to be quite cool and it could fit with any of the plate classes, just with different flavours.
