Thanks Lucy! some interesting points to add; these are a revamp of Spectrum Noir's old Colorista pencils which I bought back in the day. Back then they came in 6 packs of eight pencils in black patterned packaging. The barrels were all completely painted to colour match the core ( which didn't really match with the darker shades) and there were no colour names. Around the same time I'd bought a 1 pack of 12 Crayola pencils for £1.50 and the Colorista were at the time considerably more expensive at about £0.65 unit price compared to £0.13 for those Crayola. Comparing your swatches with my old swatch it appears they've completely revamped the shades as there were only 3 browns and 4 yellows which were very similar in colour, and there were lots of pinks and turquoise shades. I wouldn't call those pencils soft at all and the lighter shades were very wishy washy and hard to get a good laydown, but overall, they did a very creditable job when I used them to colour the nameplate page on a Tatiana Bogema on Createspace paper. To be honest, I store them with those 12 Crayola pencils which do include a black and a useless white, and use them all together. Am I tempted to re-buy them? Probably not, but your video does show considerable improvement over the pencils I own.

Hey Lucy !! I love your channel and as I was watching this morning, I was scrolling and found a post by Coloring Queen, she was reviewing a set of pencils by the same name as these, but in a black packaging and only 8 pencils per set, it was 5 years ago. I hope this helps, maybe these other pencils, if they are still in circulation, would have some colors that this set doesn’t. The barrels on this other set has the same color as the cores, instead of white with the ends colored. Thanks for the work you put into bringing ideas and techniques to us, your viewers 😊

Glad you liked these and it was interesting to watch how easily you use them. I got some recently from WH Smith and whilst I loved them, it's nice to hear you liked them too and gave a demo :-) I think as you can get them as small sets, they make them very economical. They've also brought out slim alcohol markers in this Colorista range, which I also love. Just need them to bring out more colours 🙂

I think mainly Amazon well them here in the UK and they are very expensive compared to the USA. There is no official licensed seller here. I use Polychromos and get them open stock from Cult Pens online in the UK. They sell lots of different pencils, gel lens etc open stock as well as sets and they are cheaper than Amazon. Fabulous customer service as well.
