Cedric & Ada Gear and Outdoors I'm thinking a crisp v edge 15 DPS with a 3k diamond waterstone edge finished on a 1 micron strop. Fully deburred, no rounding, treetoping hairs. Uuhhhh, Makes me drool. Damn, what a beast of a blade. Nice cuts on those carrots Brotha, dayum. I love to cook at friends houses but can't stand dull knives. This is basically a folding petty knife in super steel. This would be solid in the kitchen. Really man the editing in this video is bomb. I love to watch every knife video and there has been lots of new comes but I get bored since none of them actually use or know how to sharpen them and just fondle them on camera, fantasise what there used for and ramble about all the things you already see and can read. This is different. Real use man, real use. And real experience and explaining about what the design is doing. Real knife guy stuff Brotha

At one point I overlooked Spyderco's back locks, thinking they seemed unsexy or uninnovative. Man, was I wrong. After exploring all sorts of exotic locks, I am really falling for these. One handed closing is never a problem.

Well done review! I wish they'll make that blade pivot a bit sturdier and the blade stock a bit wider around it. To me the knife's length and width is a bit disproportionate in comparison to it. Even the Endura feels like that. As you said: good slicer but not much else.

Good review. I liked your rating system at the end. Although my eyesight is perfect, as a man of a certain age, a lifetime as a carpenter has taken its toll on my hearing. I have found that it seems you are whispering in your last few videos & I have to crank my volume to max & still concentrate to hear what you are saying. Never a problem in the past. Just an observation to consider for all of your audience. Always better to have to turn down the brightness (just an example, your composition & visuals are great) or volume than turn up the levels & still miss the picture & sound. Cheers mate.

That knife is made for cutting.There are too many folding pry bars trying to pass themselves off as knives.I have had my eye on one of them and after viewing your video it is time to pick one up.Thanks for posting,I enjoy your vids.

I think k390 is basically same as cpm-10v, 2nd most used steel in blade comp sports. (10v & m4)... i think so? Sooo, when ya doing a review on the bravo in cru-wear : )

Really cool knife I’ve never used k390 and I’m not a fan of steels that rust and are a pain to sharpen which is why I haven’t pulled the trigger but I’m very interested one day.

I believe its marketed as useful to law enforcement knife beceause it has reach and because you can use it folded as a non-lethal defense tool. That "pommel" would hurt like hell but it wont kill you. I just bought it, thanks Pete :)

Hi thank you for your knife insights and reviews. They've guided a lot of my purchasing decisions: I don't think I would have bought/enjoyed the lawman, the ruike 801 or the spydiechef had I not watched your videos :). +EDC with Aaron yeah its got that, but its a large enough knife its not too bad finding somewhere else to rest the digits. I found it a killer on the 0450 though

Cedric & Ada Gear and Outdoors interesting... My 0450 doesnt have that at all. But my 0220 has it bad, if you even touch the lock bar and then move your fingers before flipping it still makes the detent stick a little I guess and makes it harder to open. Its the only flaw I've found with the knife, except that id like a little more space under the pocket clip.

I was waiting for this knife for so long and now that it came out I'm stuck. Part of me knows that this will be a great working knife. The other part of me is bored. The third side of me is pissed that I didn't wait to get this before buying the Military. So now that I have three-dimensional feelings about it, I'll probably have to at least give it a try.

Your measurements are a bit off. Endura has a 3.75 inch blade and police has a 4.4 inch blade. I like big knives but that's a bit too big even for my tastes. But that k390 is yummy, glad I have an urban in it.

You should try out the Spyderco Resilience™ G-10 Black. One of the budget friendly knives but man does it cut well!

Fantastic suite of reviews on this knife, thank you. Based on Michael Christy's review of the K390 steel, I'd have expected better edge retention than you experienced: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnW7kI1pfs1qm7c In my opinion, the Police 4 is a pretty good value at about $174 USD, as long as you don't mind a backlock. Lightweight for its size.

Frank Martin Yeah Michaels vid was what caused my expectations to be higher - but he really does push his edges to the limit, trying to make them ideal. The worksharp convex is good, but far from ideal. I am gonna send this to a guy to put a craycray edge on and see what it can do.

macmurfy2jka I personally would take S110v in a heart beat over K390. Also I like walker liner locks more than back locks. Also pillar construction is better (in G10) in my opinion.

well there are m4 militaries if you are ok with the jade g10 and id take m4 over k390. the military is a much better knife than the police.

Herb Toker Can't argue with taste but this knife was designed with some purpose and I think material and steel type serves that pretty well. Its part non-lethal striking tool so it has to be stiff and strong. Its also very long so a stronger lock type makes sense. I know spyderco tested alot of steels for the Police 4 before they announced k390 and its probably not the cheapest choice since its a German-made steel that has to be importes to japan for this to be made so I assume they concluded its the best steel for the job. I have the knife in question and the pm2 in s110v. Jury is still out on which one is better, right now I get similiar performancd out of them after sharpening but the PM2 had a much better factory edge.

Eldridge Young no mate, k294 is bohlers version of 10v. K390 has "worse" edge eetention than 10v but is tougher.
