Oooh that immersive family mod sounds great, I love anything that adds the community reacting to your life events. I keep saying I won’t get the game on another platform, but the temptation to be able to mod is so strong! 😆

Considering we got like 10k mods, and the mods are SUCH good, high quality.. Seriously, stardew valley on PC is the BEST and I feel console and mobile just doesn't hit quite as much, especially when you have town and city expansions, some incredible NPCs to play and just- ugh! Also the modding community on the stardew discord is the NICEST community I've ever met, so helpful and always ready to figure out why something doesn't work. Literally love the guys. This is me urging you to come join us, it's SO worth it! and the mods are just so incredible, from little quality of life benefit mods to full blown mods that give x2-x4 the amount of story for you to explore!

@@thechillykitty if it's just about the price, I would say it's 100% worth it! Even just SV Expanded adds so much content, and there are so many mods that there's something for everyone, for many many playthroughs. I keep finding something new I want to try out.

I always wondered why putting Ridgside, SVE, and East Scarp together caused such annoyingly long load times. Just reading the mod description on Nexus was illuminating. Now I'm contemplating a new playthrough putting those together again.... always had to take RSV out of the equation since that even made mid screen transition minute+ times once in awhile.

Fast loads is a godsend. Thank you for showcasing it. I have expanded, ridgeside, east scarp and over 100 other mods and it increased my my initial load into the game and first day save to nearly a minute from almost 3. Huuuge difference.

With spritemaster you can actually turn off spritesmoothing (even though I actually like it), and I'd also like to say that a way you can improve your load times is by removing the PyTK mod and mods that require it, it's known to cause long load times.

@@thenopedetective I believe that modding support is going to be immediate with the release of 1.6, and many mods already have updates ready that will release around when 1.6 comes out. so it shouldn't be anything to worry about :)

I'm evil I have the CJB cheat menu and item spawner. Don't really abuse them at all, just disable friendship decay and instant catch - I hate that fishing minigame with a passion. Haven't used the item spawn cause that's emergency use only, like I threw something away or automate took a beet when I needed the 10 of them for Qi. Least with automate, the worm bin finally has a purpose. Now just have to hope where I placed it on the dock, with two recycling machines, that no one walks over them

Speaking of Fast Loads… I use nearly 500 mods. Yes, I’m pretty crazy, but to tell you I went from nearly 30 minute loads to maybe 2 loading a file, it does wonders.

I ended up reaching nearly 1400 and uh- 2.5-3m loading times gets really really rough. though most are qol or animal mods/sprites. though i havent played in a long time now so im almost intimidated by trying to actually update them all *sweats nervously*

More colors for Slime Eggs would be great, pairing well with stuff like Slime Produce. Maybe with a shinier, rarer, harder to find version of the White Egg that spawns a perfect White Slime (I'm having a hard time manually breeding them inside the Slime Hutch) I would honestly make the mod myself, if it's not that hard.

I made a second save with mods so I can customize my home an save as I go, take screenshots, then gradually replicate it on my main save. I'm determined to stay as vanilla as possible on my main save (which is almost as old as SDV itself) other than maaayybe the upgrade empty cabins mod, because I could technically do that in multiplayer vanilla, but I'd have to annoy my friends. This video came out at the perfect time with the Happy Home Designer and Fast Loads mod? You just saved me so much time. 😭

The Fast Loading mod is a gamechanger for me on the Steam Deck, where I had to pick between Ridgeside/East Scarp OR SV Expanded, all three of them together would make the file never load - not just slow, never. Now I can play with all the big mods together and the loading time is noticeable, but totally tolerable. Perhaps it's slower because the system is less performant than whichever computer you're using? In which case this would be a great mod for anyone else with an older laptop. (As an aside for anyone else with a Steam Deck - it is possible to mod SV and I run currently over 100 mods on it, but it's a lot harder to do than on PC, partly because the controls are so awkward. Connecting a mouse is pretty much obligatory to navigate the file system. But I'm very happy I figured it out.)

@@RowanWolf22 hmmm weird. I used to play on a 2016 Mac (in 2021 or so) and that also worked fine, though I never tried as many intensive mods as you describe. It could be more complicated than simply the raw power of the system, perhaps. It runs "My Time at Portia" just fine, which is something even my 2018 Macbook Pro struggled with massively due to the 3D graphics.

You can disable the smoothing on Sprite Master, but yes it is icky.

Something released this month is the Trans Girl Sebastian (Viola) mod. Sebastian is my long time favorite and I have absolutely fallen in love with Viola (even if i edited her bangs and eyebrows back to their original state, lol!). There are like one or two instances where the game doesn't catch the name change (like if she's in the movie theater lobby after a movie with Abigail and Sam (not invited by you)) but it's SO new so that tracks. Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who may be interested ^^

since you mentioned that Sprite Master defaults to pixel smoothing which just turns off some people (me included), you can actually tweak it and remove the smoothing. Best paired with GMCM (Generic Mod Config Menu)

Hi salemence, i like your videos and have a question. I’ve been grinding for the kudgel drop from red/black slimes slimes for about 3 hours resetting the day. I have a seed where I have the slimy infested floor at a convienent place so I quickly drop into it. The wiki says it’s drops, and so does your weapons guide but I’m stumped. Since you’re one of the pros, do you have any tips on how to get this item? (Excuding the Remixed Rewards in the mines)

I think it works because it simplifies the way the game calculates NPCs' walk schedules, which is the main thing adding bulk time to loading screens? But you don't have to understand why it works for it to work.

Fast loads didn't work for me, even with the two tick boxes checked. I lost all my Riverside people and a chunk of vanilla people. So weird! I can't figure out what mod is a conflict.

Have you checked the logs in that window that pops up when you load the game? Usually it'll give some kind of warning somewhere in the log, telling you that it's disabled a mod due to some conflict. Eg I recently accidentally had the East Scarp folder in my mods folder twice, so it completely erased ES from the map. Losing vanilla NPCs is pretty weird though!

there is a guide on the SV wiki that you can follow. If you download from Nexus, all the mods are prescanned for viruses and it will show that it's scanned and safe, no need to worry about it.
