The upcoming state of play will most likely feature the enhanced games for the PS5 pro,the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn and the Silent Hill 2 remake. I don't think we'll get any official Resident Evil content this year.

RE titles tend to release around 6 - 8 months from initial trailer. Not uncommon for releases in Q1 of the year. The timing isn’t unusual. Could happen. I was betting on a major numbered release in 2026, but I hadn’t considered a possible remake release in 2025. Been pretty icy & quiet since RE4R, and that was 2023.

Honestly, the PS5 hasn't been out that long imo. Coming out during the pandemic really hurt it, most people could'nt get it til much later. Most games are ports/upgrades from the 4 and there arent many Ps5 titles outside of what i pointed out. Correct me if im wrong, but Sony needs to slow down, re-evaluate for the same reasons talked about already. Sony blundered alot as of late and any more bad reception will only make things worse.

@@joelmiller8651 Simple math. It's been leaked months ago by that cuckgolem dude that RE9's release has been postponed to late late 2025 / early 2026. Now, if you look back on it, Capcom always reveals RE games 9-10 months before release. That means RE9 will be revealed around March or April of 2025 and since Sony always has a State of Play (or Showcase) around that time, it makes me almost certain that that's when the reveal will happen. That being said, I very much hope that cuckgolem is wrong and the game hasn't been delayed that far and the reveal can happen now. But unfortunately he is right most of the time.

@@keikurono5813 well re4 and re8 and I’m sure others were revealed at state of plays, and the director of re7 teased an upcoming re game so idk why they will reveal it next year. And another well known leaker said it will be revealed at this upcoming state of play but who knows like you said let’s hope you’re wrong lol

@@joelmiller8651 I do hope I'm wrong but if it's really been delayed to late 2025 / early 2026 then there's just no shot they will do a reveal 15-16 months before release, unfortunately. Capcom never puts out trailers that early. As I said the first trailer usually drops around 9-10 months before release, this has been their MO for a long time.

Capcom have had a pretty good track record of releasing something RE every year so I expect a reveal soon. Typically they release in the first half of the year too. 2017 - RE7 2018 - RE7 Gold 2019 - RE2 2020 - RE3 + REsistance 2021 - RE8 2022 - RE8 Gold + REverse 2023 - RE4 2024 - RE4 Gold 2025 - ????

Capcom seems to really be focusing on Monster Hunter right now. I’m starting to wonder if they holding off on any RE news until after Monster Hunter releases. Although I’d love to be wrong and get a trailer next week.

Capcom also has some things going on with the Tokyo game show so here is me hoping it will be shown somewhere. Unless they do it with Xbox which would be interesting twist seeing how much they have been working with them lately too and even have their own showcase next week.

Hope to get my preorder in for the Pro next week. I'm looking forward to the new game announcements. I hope we get a new look at Pragmata and the next RE game. Either end the State of Play with Ghosts 2 or Wolverine.

The only 3 remakes i want to see right now is RE1, RE5 and Code Veronica if done properly like RE2 and RE4 remakes, dont care about RE9 due to the fact that I hated RE7 and RE8 and now this director from RE7 working on RE9 , im not to thrilled about it, im very disappointed with this RE franchise so far

I would rather not expect it and be shocked than keep guessing when it's coming. I agree that the ps5 pro needs to be sold to gamers. This first take wasn't great. As a pc gamer, I can see the difference and understand what they are talking about. Alan wake 2 running at 60 fps at 864p isn't looking great imo.

Man I'm not really a dead rising fan or monster hunter. I wish they would do that whole remaster thing on the original 3 games for ps5. Aside from Silent Hill 2 there is not much I care about this year or next year, I haven't turned my ps5 on in months 😂

Man idk I’m torn! While I do want a ps5 pro and the next RE game but Sony state of play has me iffy. If they DONt show older titles like horizon or until dawn then great. Show new stuff like ghost of Tsushima 2. Spider-Man 2 venom DLC. RE9. Death stranding 2. Wolverine…. Idk I know capcom does play nice with them because tey’ve been carrying the VR but was RE8 at a state of play? I can’t remember. I remember their Resident evil 8 showcases but idk we shall see. I just want new games. I got dead rising just waiting for the timer to go down lol
