As perfect as it comes in a horror game, this is peak imo

This game kicks ass and you know. If you say anything negative, you are literally being just a baby. The first was good 21 years ago this one is better

I love the game. My only 1 nit pick is in the prison area, there is soooo many of them wall crawler enemies, they are annoying.

I want to like this game more than I do. The combat is the big killer. It is so aggravating getting stuck on something in a tight space and can’t dodge incoming hits

Next mainline resident evil game won't be called resident evil 9. Resident evil 8 does not offcially exists; the game official name is RE village. Probably just a placeholder.

I disagree that James should be reacting to things. Deep down James is aware of what's going on. His first line when seeing a monster isn't something like "what the hell are you?" Or "oh god what is that thing?" It's "don't come any closer." He is aware. Now contrast that with Claire and Leon who are in a situation neither of them could have seen happening and dealing with things that should not exist. Of course they would be surprised and shocked. It makes sense for them. James is not. It wouldn't make sense for him to be surprised and shocked

"controversial" To whom, may I ask? Because the controversy sure died down after release, and only a very specific (And extremely small) group of fans "don't like it". And I am not talking about people who prefer the original, not the purists... I am talking about *that* group.

Honestly I feel like it's already in development. With the re release emulator on PS, the Capcom survey, and all off the talk... I think Capcom is gonna surprise us at some point. Exoprimal was supposed to replace Dino Crisis imo but it didnt stop us from wanting the game. If THEY really felt DC would get in the way of Monster Hunter, they would have never released Exoprimal

RE9 will have 3 DLC. With Jill being the first, leon will either be 2nd or 3rd and clair. Some of the enemies and plot is regarding the white fungus on a volcanic island with the Asian lore around the area influencing the story, enemies and DLC.

The remakes inability to make a profit represents its inability to translate the classic. This watered down offering won’t be a part of its history and won’t have 100s of analysis vids made on it

i'd still rather play the original it's miles better from the atmosphere, to the characters and monster design to the story remakes nowadays are just lazy and pointless which is modern gaming in a nutshell the only remake that i thought was amazing was the resident evil 1 remake back in 2002 but people are robots today they'll hype, buy, and support anything as long as the graphics are in 4k everything is a masterpiece today which is so weird and so stupid but hey that's the new way to think in this upside down generation

Remember RE4R Gold edition shown up on metacritic 2 months before it got announced. If history repeats itself RE9 trailer could shown up at video game awards.

Yeah im excited for a new installment of re9 hopefully it will a horror game and action but ill wait patiently and not stress over it i honestly would rather see a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake first before the re9 game im sure Capcom wont let us down we just have to be patient 👍

Splat Column told me RE9 will combine with the Silent Hill universe with James Sunderland and Claire Redfield getting married, and Chris Redfield being disappointed that the bloodline will continue with lame James involved

Easily my favorite remake in recent years I just may put it above RE4 remake. If they ever remake silent hill 3 I wouldn’t mind it if bloober team works on it cause they nailed it with this.

Dedicated Resident Evil showcase since capcom hasn't done one for a long time. The game awards is the only other place unless Sony has another State of Play before the year ends for RE9.

I’ve heard about this and seen that RE9 thing but I think it is a place holder I don’t see it being announced in that Xbox event and I’m only taking this with a grain of salt and not get too excited.

This is a masterpiece, easily beats out FF Rebirth as my GOTY. And I was one of those who doubted the game right up to its release

Right now all of capcoms marketing budget is for monster hunter. I think there's a sold chance they announce at the Game awards. Just like they did for monst hunter

I feel the review was fair, performance issues are annoying but they have done a very good job of bringing Silent Hill 2 into the 21st century. I was ready for you to bash this which would have cost you a subscriber. But I agree with you.

The fact that lt cost $70 is what I don’t like.

I actually like that James doesn't talk or react to gameplay mechanics. it's more immersive that way as the reaction is mine and not the game's character. It's odd to explain, but my reactions are projected into the character and the character feels like how I feel. I don't know if I explained it correctly.

People need to know its not about which is better Both original and remake are masterpieces for the time they were created in

Spent hill shouldn’t have an objective post because you are supposed to be lost. It’s the point of the game. You are supposed to be confused and lost. Much like James. You do give an interesting perspective here! But yeah SH is all about being lost and confused as the world relies on dream logic

I think the reason they don't put a goal check list is because as a Psychological horror game the developers want you to feel just as lost and with no help as the protagonist

Amazing remake, couldn't wish for more, but I do have a few gripes with it: 1. Second part of the game is not well paced IMO. After finishing a rather tense and long hospital sequence, you are thrown almost immediately into an even more tense prison sequence, there is no significant tontal shift or breathing room to break up these two outside of a brief walk along the streets of Silent Hill and immeaditly after prison, you end up in the labyrinth, another tense sequence, although it was not as lengthy. It just made me really exhausted at one point, but Lakeview Hotel literally felt like a breath of fresh air after all that, a nice change of tone and pace that would be appreciated after the hospital sequence. 2. This is the same in original, but should've been changed IMO. Requirments for endings are extremely bizarre and abstract, I understand how it can make sense on paper, but it's just not practical and without looking it up online it's impossible to figure out that the game even has multiple endings or what you need to do or not do to achieve them. I got "In the Water" ending and after looking it up, it basically turns out that the game punishes you for exploring the world and examining items or trying to survive by not wasting resources in this SURVIVAL horror game. Examining Angela's knife gives you points toward this ending and I wouldn't have a problem with this, if we were giving some indication what the implication of such an action is, but we are not. I examined the knife to see if there were some clues or lore in it, but the game apparently considers this action as James being suicidal. The game expects you to basically ROLEPLAY as James which I would love to do, but it refuses it's impossible, because it doesn't put you into James' mind, it doesn't tell you that James looking at the knife is him contemplating suicide, same with many other actions that lead you down different endings. Otherwise it's a stellar game.

I found combat too 2001🙄at least RE remakes let you strafe or duck dodge. The fact you can’t crouch is a big issue with fighting. Why these remakes feel such a need to stay faithful to the original content baffles me. Reimagining a classic with modern technology just makes them better in my opinion

RE5 is one of the BEST games I ever played. When I'm saying it's the best, it was one of the most fun games I have had the blessing to experience. I love it because I'm a huge fan of coop games, and RE5 has given me fond memories, I lost track of how many times I played through it. Bought it for the Xbox 360, PS4, and on PC, and I played it so much, and I would love to do it all over again. I hope they can make the main story more like the Lost in Nightmares DLC, where the game can be quite scarier. Also, I hope the Lost in Nightmares DLC can be well extended. It deserved to be many more hours longer of gameplay.
