Which mower and model is best at mulching but also collects? Budget less than £500

I wouldn't dare use my hand to scoop up cuttings on my lawn, it's averitable dog-turd minefield! I've just bought a 448.3 after using my Izzy push mower for eight years, faultlessly. I hope it cuts the mustard, as well as the grass. Thanks, a useful video from a good firm to deal with.

Bought the new 448 in May this year to replace my old 448. Worst decision ever. The new design clogs up on a regular basis in both wet and dry grass of varying lengths. I even took the box off and had the rear flap open and it still clogged up. Not sure if it's a more powerful engine or the mulching flap design but definitely a major faux pas by Stihl. I'm surprised they didn't find this out during testing because it's so bad.

I got myself a 756 YS and I am very happy with it. It even seems to mulch so much easier then bagging or collecting. I have to say: I am impressed!

Agreed, but I have nine other stihl machines, going back thirty-five years, and haven't been disappointed yet. The only time I broke my brand loyalty I bought Husqvarna, and regretted it. The starting coil on a brushcutter went at three years old, and they wanted £89 for the spare! Similar Stihl parts (inc s.plug lead and cap) were £32. Goodbye Huskie, greedy, greedy sods.

How do these compare to a Hayter Harrier 48? Im in the market for a new mower but, am unsure what to get. I have a gardening business but, its not based on lawn cutting.
