The Ego banner in the thumbnail promises "power beyond belief". I didn't see any of that in this demo.

Thanks for the video, very informative. I've never really strayed from Stihl battery powered strimmers or hedge trimmers. But it's good to check out the alternatives for future purchases. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I found stihls customer service to be terrible. I won’t recommend them to anyone who t might be good gear but I’ve spent thousands with them to be lied to. Won’t happen again. I’ve even covered over the name on my gear to stop giving them fee advertisement.

I wouldn't dare use my hand to scoop up cuttings on my lawn, it's averitable dog-turd minefield! I've just bought a 448.3 after using my Izzy push mower for eight years, faultlessly. I hope it cuts the mustard, as well as the grass. Thanks, a useful video from a good firm to deal with.

Why doesn’t the transmission in the x380 or x350 have a drain plug? Eventually the gear oil will need to be replaced and the only way to do this is take the transmission out and drain it from the top.

Why is it that no one on KZbin agrees how to spool these? There are specific starting point hooks for 0.95 and .105 and they are on OPPOSITE sides of the head. They would not start in the same place according to the notation on it. Second, Stihl's video suggests holding the line from the bottom of the head into an outer loop on the bottom and the top line on a loop on the top of the head. This would make that piece of line crossing over the two spool channels not present. I've yet to see a single video combine all of this info on this head. Thus, I don't know how it's SUPPOSED to be done.

Ready to put back on the machine?, to do that you got to take the spool out and the spring and fit a circlip. Should have been fitted to the machine to start with. Anyway, the other problem is the two brass eyes the line feeds through tend to fall out and the 2-2 head is useless after that.

Bought the new 448 in May this year to replace my old 448. Worst decision ever. The new design clogs up on a regular basis in both wet and dry grass of varying lengths. I even took the box off and had the rear flap open and it still clogged up. Not sure if it's a more powerful engine or the mulching flap design but definitely a major faux pas by Stihl. I'm surprised they didn't find this out during testing because it's so bad.

@@Steven-jn2cw I ordered a new battery mower from a local dealer and was given a delivery date for end of June (I ordered mid June), I didn’t hear anything for a few days so enquired if that date would still be correct and was told stihl have now put the date back to end of July early August. I had already paid and asked if there was any way of knowing if the mower would then be out back in late July August to which stihl pretty much replied saying they had a delay and weren’t sure when delivery would be and to order another mower or ask for a refund I the asked how did they not know when delivery dates were when they had told suppliers to take orders from June with expected delivery dates that same month to then put it back by a month or longer again I got a short pointless answer. So I’ve now decided I won’t deal with them again I’ll buy from a rival.

I have an older version of this setup. I bought it because I have hilly property and thought that it would stick to the hills better with controlled front wheels instead of caster wheels. AND IT DOES! I can't recommend this but when I get on the side of a hill the back slides out before the front tires and most of the time I can easily get it back on track. Also, having a free hand can be useful when dealing with low hanging tree limbs or just taking a drink. It is not quite as nimble as a conventional zero turn mower but life is full of tradeoffs.
@johnmillergardenmachinery
@johnmillergardenmachinery Ай бұрын
That's the thing- you have to go with what works for you. Some prefer the sticks, others feel more comfortable with the wheel. Good to hear that the setup works for your hilly property 👍

How did you get the head itself off the trimmer? I'm planning to replace my trimmer head to another easier to load head, but I can't get the head off. It just spins and spins. I have noticed that some trimmers have an orange fanwheel I think they call it. My FSA 57 battery powered trimmer doesn't have one. Has some one who has borrowed my trimmer lost it? Anyway I need to get the old head off.
