I have been crocheting for years but I never explored the many stitches and patterns until I found Creative Grandma. I started an afghan using the Moss stitch. It is turning out to be beautiful. Thank you Glenda for you tutorials. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.❤😊

This stitch is called the Half Double Crunch Stitch . There is also a variation that substitutes a Dc for the HDbl - gives even more texture. I found this stitch long ago in a booklet titled “Beginner’s Guide, 30 Easy-To-Crochet Pattern Stitches”, published in 2004 by Leisure Arts, Little Books. There were three different booklets, that I know of, beginning in 1999. I’ve made many a blanket using this stitch. It works well for doll blankets, too - children really like the feel of it - they keep rubbing their blankets. Appreciate the time and effort you spend posting your videos. Many times a picture is needed to clarify a stitch - ie, the way you do the Jacob’s Ladder made a vast improvement in my stitching of that pattern. (Lynn from No. Calif.)

I am teaching my neice to crochet. She has really picked it up very well. But we live more than 2 hours away from each other. But with your tutorials, she will be able to pick up different stitches. And then if needed she can always face time me so I can help. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. We were going to go up to spend a day with them, but I took a horrible fall. which resulted in me breaking my collar bone in 2 places and shattering in between, and got some broken ribs. So needless to say I couldn"t travel. But now I"ll send her this info Thank You and may God keep blessing all you do.

Thank you so much. You give the best instructions I’ve found online. You do not go too fast, show your work well so I can see where to insert my hook, repeat often, and go at the right pace for me. I really appreciate how you teach crochet stitches. Anyone else I’ve watched goes too fast and doesn’t show their work well enough for me to understand. Perfect! Thanks again!

I learned to crochet in a crochet club in the 5th grade. From then on I was self taught. From then on (until had a job), most of my patterns were from the skeins label (tube?.) and the library. When I started to babysit I bought crochet magazines occasionally. Younger crocheters can’t appreciate how KZbin is a crafters dream. Not only do incredible crocheters like Creative Grandma teach stitches and patterns, but they can actually answer questions when you have an issue. I just want to thank Creative Grandma. I think she knows what I’m talking about!🧶🙂

That Premier Puzzle yarn is gorgeous. I still found it available at Amazon, JoAnn & Walmart, although Walmart won't deliver it.... Pick up only, I believe. I adore the Acrostic colorway you used and I did find it at Premier Yarns & Amazon. I'm going to get some of that yarn and make something really pretty! Thanks, Glenda, for absolutely the best crochet tutorials anywhere. Of course, there are many excellent crochet instructors on KZbin and I've been to just about all their channels. I really enjoy many of them, as well as the wonderful teachers/instructors/friends! However, you're the best crochet teacher on KZbin, hands down! Absolutely. You're the most thorough and the most patient, with a lovely personality to boot! Thank you for the many gorgeous Stitch of the Week tutorials in beautiful colors, plus your classic white samples. You have a knack for combining colors when you change colors every row or so, and your finished items are so beautiful! Sorry for the long post but I've been wanting to thank you for being you, for a long time. Have a wonderful week and weekend! Char from Phoenix, AZ 🧶🌄🌵🏜️🧶🙂🙃

This is my favorite of the "many different" moss stitches i see. Thanks. On another note, you resolved my dilemma with the sides of the ripple stitch on your most recent MOSS STITCH RIPPLE video. I am sooooo :) grateful. I make many of those and struggle each time with the sides being even. GREAT JOB!!!
