Overdrive combos being displayed is actually a huge deal for new players. For those unaware in the original it was like XB2 blade combos except the game didn't show you what elements combo'ed into what and you had to memorize them all instead

My guy, there was no tutorial on what Overdrive even did, let alone instructions on what the various colors meant for it. People complain about XC2 having terrible tutorials, but X straight up didn't explain 95% of what it's various numbers and mechanics did. Pure trial and error paired with careful observation was the only way you got good at it.

6:30 That's Neilnail, who seems to have been the creator of the white and black Skells just before given they're named for her. They appear in a Time Attack mission in the original but with no story attached. The only difference from the concept art is that her eyes and brooch are red now when they were green in the concept art, but the hairstyle and collar are clearly the same. And yes, she's a Qlurian, the same race as Celica.

Something that has me curious is the green bar under the right side of the arts menu. That wasn't there before right. left side is definitely the morale meter but right side is something new.

Something I noticed at 1:42 in the original video was “Ryan” was able to use Tornado Blade even though it wasn’t off cooldown yet, and the usage of it caused the green bar to decrease. Also worth noticing was the art indicator arrows to show which arts were being selected had a green hue surrounding them prior to using the art

Yeah, in one clip showcasing the Skell weapons a brief name for it under the bar appears calling it 'Quick Recast'. It seems to highlight when over an art so it may allow you to reuse an art again quicker or immediately after use.

Given the strong MMO influences in the Xenoblade series (and _especially_ X), I wouldn't be too surprised if the level cap is the same as in the original for all of the base-game content, but increases once you get to the new stuff. It's like upping the cap for the latest expansion, except they had to remaster and port the entire base game first.

The nice thing about the map screen, which I think might somewhat make up for the lack of gamepad, is that you can see Oblivia and Primordia at the same time, so you don't have to switch pages, and presumably the same is true for all of the continents. Presumably NLA will still have its own page, but at least you don't have to switch for each continent. That should make it less tedious to set up your data probes because you can see the whole network from one screen.

New characters, content that was incomplete seems like it was fleshed out and reintegrated, new controls and guidance added, cleaner UI, consistent character redesigns, max level cap is raised, probably more new and better equipment, and a brand new area that might very well wrap up the loose ends, because we all know "there's something about this planet." I couldn't be more excited. I look forward to your content Enel. I just hope they kept the crazy top tier A-list voice actors for character creation. Skells are a huge mobility buff, help rebalance when fighting larger enemies, grant defense to the team by existing, and with the right equipment make grinding drops and exp way faster. The combat in skells is more prep-work as compared to the highly engaging ground combat, so I can totally get why people favor ground combat and overdrive. I wonder if they will patch the diskbomb build; I am hoping they don't but Drone builds are also really neat/strong.

Something I noticed in the trailer that I don't remember in the original that I haven't seen anyone talk about is, in the bottom right below the Arts, there's a green gauge tied to the Y button. It's not shown what it does in any of the videos, it's present in both Ground and Skell combat, and the length of the gauge is not consistent, sometimes not being present at all. It doesn't appear to be tied to HP, TP, Morale, or any other value that's visible on screen, so I'm curious what it is, unless it's something from the original that I've forgotten, given that it's been almost 10 years lol.

@@EnelXC Yeah, I just noticed that, in the first combat clip, Ryan uses Tornado Blade before it's off cooldown. So it looks like the gauge will be full at the start of each battle, letting you use arts instantly a set number of times per battle, and that amount can be increased. Seems like it'll be a very fun system paired with Overdrive. Art spam galore lol.

It's looking like there's a new addition to the combat. There's the small green and red/orange meters on the bottom of the Arts Palette. Not sure what the red/orange one is just yet (actually it may just be the new location of the morale meter judging by how it's segmented), but the green meter is a Quick Recast. Press Y to use up some of the meter and it will bypass the cooldowns of the highlighted Art. So that sounds like a way to make Soul Voices and Overdrive easier to manage.

I hope they fix some of the Skill and Arts combinations on many of the Party Members , cuz some of them had really bad combinations that made no sense at all. Skells are good for farming because of the huge Phoenix AoE or for Appendage Parts on Big Enemies with the Missile Launchers , you could make a guide on that.

The original had pretty barebones multplayer, I hope they improved on it. But I doubt we'll get fully open world multiplayer, they would've announced it by now as a selling point.

There's way more switch players, and more fans of xenoblade in general now, I think starting with the base online is a good way to stress test it. If it still runs well enough with the much larger number of players on its servers, they can start adding more to the online. I'm not expecting anything until maybe 3 or 6 months after launch.

I'm actually curious whether the multiplayer elements will be returning in some form, since I haven't seen it in trailers or breakdowns yet. The sense of community you got from joining a squad, doing tasks and missions together, and seeing other players' avatars in the world was probably one of my favorite things about the game. I remember first joining the Harriers but quickly found out that I was too bad at the game to be useful there, so I think I ended up switching to some gathering squad lmao. March 20th cannot come fast enough, I'm practically pulling my hair out with anticipation.

Looks like there is a new combat mechanic which is really cool. Wasn't expecting that also one of its functions is similar to boosting in Xenosaga which makes me really happy. Maybe that green bar does more than allow you to instantly reuse/boost arts. Its hard to say with what little footage we still have. Also with some cut content being restored and some new looking outfits i think there is a chance for one or 2 new classes but for sure some new arts will be in the game relating to the robot alien dude and the other Qlu. Also even if you won't be needed for overdrive some people will still need all the nitty gritty broken down to understand it and the less you have to focus on overdrive the more you can make fun build videos and stuff like how to make a kaioken goku using one of Alexa's arts and cheap dolls. I honestly hope they didn't touch ghostwalker even though it was broken same with the sky high glitch. Also can't wait to see the postgame content that's been added too. Also Cross now is Ryan Xenoblade just a random guy who happened to be in the right/wrong places at the right/wrong times as its seemingly clear that the black knight figure was the lone hero after this trailer.
