I dream of the day I buy my first house and start building my studio properly. The living room studio works for now, but I need my own space. Glad you're living the dream!

I really couldn't wait to finally move and set up this room. Went from my bedroom when still living with my parents to a small spare room in our old appartment to this! Loving it so far.

@@Estuera yes, I started in my bedroom too back in 07, and now have 3 kiddos of my own in a small house. It makes producing on open back headphones challenging with that level of noise around me lol. My desk is pretty large too but it’s already crammed with my Subsequent 37 and Hydrasynth, there’s multiple pieces of gear that get stored underneath. I’d love to set up a rack and have my synths properly set up on stands. Still happy with all the wonderful gear and software I’ve been blessed with. After all, passion can’t be confined by small studio spaces :)

Recently I came across a few of your records on Magik Muzik/Blackhole recordings from almost 20 years ago in a box in the attic. Really super cool that you make these ‘back to the 90s’ videos with the equipment that you probably used for these records!

It's great to see you back - your new studio looks great. More than any other KZbinr, you make me want to show my studio to an audience - I think it's because of your attitude: you have a lot of know-how but also a great longitudinal knowledge of dance music and synths that always makes it a pleasure to hear your thoughts, and to check out your music.

@christianschroer1999

I dont think that a diffusor in your room makes a lot of sence because your room is not that big. So diffusion isn´t that effective in that case then absorbtion in my opinion but please inform you and then Im trilled to hear what is the best for your room. Very cool studio so far :) !
@Estuera
@Estuera 2 жыл бұрын
That is indeed what I was thinking as well. The length of the room is about 4.5m so dealing with standing waves has priority. (But a massive diffuser in the back would certainly look cool) Will need to do more research and experimenting.

Really enjoy your videos. Would be good to know the economics from running such a setup. How to get started and how long before you can quit a day job to do studio work full time?
@Estuera
@Estuera 2 жыл бұрын
Music and economics is a though marriage. If I didn't have my day job as software developer I wouldn't have this studio, that's a cold hard fact. Thanks to my old back catalogue, some new releases and remixes and recently the new income stream from youtube my music expenses vs income are more or less break even. Doing it as a full time job (as I did between 2006 - 2012) would be a bad idea at this point. It sucks but its reality. So now I write code during the day and music in the afterhours. I enjoy both luckily.

Next time, can you do a vídeo recreating a 144 BPM Trance music style? You know, like we're back in the mid 2000's?
@Estuera
@Estuera 2 жыл бұрын
144 bpm trance is a bit fast for any regular trance. Mid 2000's it was mostly 138 that was the 'standard'
@pedrodiegorebellocorreareb5074
@pedrodiegorebellocorreareb5074 2 жыл бұрын
@@Estuera 138 bpm can be enough, too! But also, 144 bpm in some cases, would be a standard in the soundtrack for a future Sonic the Hedgehog racing game. If I'm not wrong, as i saw here on KZbin, most trance songs were in between 140 and 160 bpm by the mid 90's.
