It’s truly amazing how these small vintage instruments sound transformed when put through an affect processor. The amazing results, you have done this justice well done. I’m a keyboard, piano, player and singer as a pure hobbyist, I also create multitrack demos again as a hobby.

Nice track! Where do you get that choir/voice sound from? Is it a preset from a 90's rompler? It was heavily used in hardtrance, but I never found its origin.

Since KZbin has decided to spam me with 2nd Gen D-Series synths today for some reason, I'll share my own personal secret to unleashing the real power of these Little Brothers of the mighty D-50... Step 1). Add an external EQ that pulls the highs down a bit, (adjust to personal taste), and boosts the lows; Step 2). Add a decent external effects processor, (the on-board effects are trash); Step 3). Enjoy late 80's budget-digital synth Heaven 🙂

Back in the mid to late 90's there was this one radio channel in my country playing Techno Trance Acid DnB Jungle etc in their 8-hour night segment from 10pm to 6am or something like that and this track is good example of what type of music they played. I was a wee teen back then and had that channel on every night to just fall asleep to. Good times...

Jonas, although I appreciate your efforts of trying to branch out and your older productions. I have heard some of your recent tracks but they seem to be lacking in QUALITY and sounds somewhat amateurish. I don't know what is it but it seems to be a common trend among other producers both underground, middleground and commercial dance/trance music who had AMAZING productions in their past but, NOW! they are former shadow of themselves and their current productions sound extremely amateurish. I don't know if it's lazy productions moving from Hardware to VST or not. Vocals tracks sounds just as bad whether it be Euro dance/House or techno or Trance. They sound like they are screaming at the microphones and poorly reverbed and mastered and sung But i miss the days when trance production had melodies, atmosphere, crisp percussions and atmospheric pads that make you feel lost and vocals which were amazing and you would never get bored of them even after hearing them on a repeated times. The people I am talking are the likes of the great legends like Airwave, JOOF, Mike Push, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Perry O'Neil with his recent comeback to Armada and yourself as well. With Airwave the last truly great production he produced was Atlas Winds and Cathedral of Hope and Myla's Dance/Theme. Pop the Cats Adventure. I am not being negative here just being honest, authentic here and giving you some constructive feedback. There is no heart and melodies in tracks anymore its just bunch of random sounds joined together nowadays with no professional and creativity and not something you want to look back on in 5 or 10 years from now. I can also assure you upon some self reflection, I don't think it's just me who feels this way as well.
@Estuera21 күн бұрын
Although I do get the gist of what you are saying I think your choice of words ('amateurish') makes it come across quite offensive. I think nostalgia is the strongest factor here and there is no way to win against that feeling. I felt the same about some of my favorite artists but it's all extremely subjective and basically pointless to discuss in this way. (Once again: Do not expect producers to react positively to you if you come in swinging with words as 'amateurish')
@user-oq5ei4qd8r16 күн бұрын
@@Estuera Well, that wasn't my point if that's case . Compared to how you make your older tracks they do sound somewhat diluted or watered down and even lazy (I hope) that's a better word. I feel that way about the trance guys too who make the 138 bpm stuff and producers are just releasing tracks for the sake of it because it's so easier nowadays and it doesn't go through filters like record studios like it did back in the day.
@Estuera9 күн бұрын
My releases still go through the same 'filters' as I'm still releasing mostly on the same label, working with the same people as years ago. I think you are in love with a certain sound of those days and there is nothing wrong with that. But this is nostalgia at work, a very strong feeling that can never be defeated by any new production. I do not agree at all with your remarks about dilution and laziness.

There’s one piece of historical information I think you left out, Estuera. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) Wasn’t the architecture of both Alpha Juno models and the MKS-50 module based upon removing the second oscillator and its modulation capabilities from the JX-3p and the MKS-30 module? The 50 would be the model I would want if I had to have Alpha Juno sounds. Then again, I’ve got way too many keyboard synthesizers, three of which are other DCO polyphonics. I think what I would want from any Juno instrument is achievable with either my JX-8p or MKS-70.

Bro, I have a question. You spend much time for these videos, it is good. But at the same time, how do you earn for a living?

@sevchyk21 күн бұрын
@@Estuera Okay. It would be nice if music brought the main income. From the other hand, don’t know about you, but what I noticed is that intellectual job raises the quality of music product. Say, after working a week on intellectual tasks, people put more likes to your music output than if you didn’t do anything and then made music. Did you notice a relation like that?
@Estuera21 күн бұрын
Not sure if that relation exists. I can only speak for myself of course. I do know that sometimes it's actually the other way around. Mental energy sometimes gets drained by a complex day job which needs recharging before being able to create music.
@sevchyk20 күн бұрын
@@Estuera Having a rest and a meal on Saturday, after the working week, and creating music on Sunday in the afternoon will deliver a better result because of a “trained” brain and all the impressions from real life than, say, sitting in an apartment for a week and then trying to write something. The temporary fatigue recovers, but the “processing power” from solving previous tasks remains for complex music. Like a muscle, I think.
