Correlation is not necessarily causation. mainstream media news outlets are owned by a just a handful of corporations, and networks themselves make money off of advertisers. so any one study that has a "possible" minor negative effect will get blown out of proportion and get country wide coverage, what you will not see in mainstream media are the hundreds of high quality studies of healthier substances . In this report, pay attention to key words, this study only shows a correlation in people that already have heart disease, but how much of these cases of hearth disease is caused by complications of obesity, or other lying conditions like diabetes that could have been avoided by consuming low carb sweeteners in the first place. Not all studies are equal, this is not a double blind study, over many years, using hundreds of subjects, I am not saying that erythritol is good or bad here , what I am saying that these type of correlation studies are a dime a dozen, and do not give mean much, for example, I could make the statement that 100% of people that have died, have breathed oxygen at one time in their lives and that statement is 100% true. On a side note, I do not use erythritol, I prefer allulose and stevia, allulose besides being a "healthier" alternative to sugar, also has a side benefit of feeding some very healthy strains of bacteria in our gut, and inhibits insulin spikes caused by starches/carbs in the foods you are eating. if any "hard" science shows any serious problems with these, I will stop using them.

@@PantheraOnca60 That’s not the erythritol that you’re eating. Everything in a pill or potion occurs naturally in a food. Scientist take out the main element, chemically mimic that element (which they don’t always get right), and then give that too you. They aren’t extracting directly from the actual source. The problem is that when anything comes from the actual food there are a lot of supporting elements that keep the main element in balance once it enters your body. For example if you had the sugar from your food, you’d also have the fiber, the minerals and vitamins, the aminos and the structured water. Food is your medicine but you have to eat it as close to its natural form as possible.

@@Shannonacrossamerica You're 100% right. And just to add, apples, for example, have sucrose, a type of sugar. We've been told to limit sugar intake, so why are apples good for us? It's because sugar isn't bad. It's when things are out of balance that you get bad effects. When you eat an apple, you're getting sugar, but you're also getting fiber, which makes you feel full. But if you just extract the sugar and put that in a man made apple juice, your balance is out of wack. When is the lat time you ate 5 apples in one sitting? Exactly, nobody does that. Fruit juice is one of those things that we were told is good for us that's actually not. It's an easy way to consume too many calories.

@xmiller76914 ай бұрын
You can get pure stevia, unadulterated with any other sweetener, but it is so strong that you have to measure it out with a set of fractional measuring spoons. 1/16, 1/32 or 1/64 of a levelled off teaspoon is what can work in a cup of coffee- but you have to get used to it. It's easy to use way too much. Start out with just 1/64th of a teaspoon and add in 1/64th increments.
