@@jazziez6467Not really, at least not as quickly as Florida and a few other sunbelt states. Since the pandemic, Florida realty has doubled - tripled in cost. In NY, it’s gone up 15%-20%. I sold my house in NY in 2019 for $650K and it was flipped in 2022 for $750K, meanwhile my Condo in South Carolina went from $120K to $280K. In Florida, I was looking to buy a house in 2018-2019 for $160K and now it’s $340. Because a lot of jobs are now virtual people decided to leave the cold and expensive North and relocate plus you had many other close to or at retirement age decide to pack it in because they saw their friends dying or getting real sick. They all moved down south.

@jerrylawler2735 down here an efficiency cost 1200+ at hate minimum, the smallest living quarters you can get before just renting a room. In Tennessee you can get a 3/3 for that price with actual amenities. Even their gas was just 2.45 in some places, while the people where nice and the traffic wasn't all that bad in comparison. @@TrueBlue2024 I still have questions for the Blue besides their imaginary plan. If a man gets a woman pregnant and she has the baby and they split up and the judge orders the father to pay child support but, the father then identifies as a female which now essentially makes him/her have equal rights as the mom, now the child has 2 moms. Who pays child support? Furthermore, if the male who identifies as a female does he/she get free drinks on ‘ Ladies Night ‘? If not, both would be discrimination according to the lefties logic for equal rights and support for the LGBQ community. I know this makes sense somewhere but I can’t seem to find anyone to lower their IQ enough to first make sense of it, then attempt explain it Lastly, if Trump puts on a wig and identifies as female would that make him the first female president? They say top 10 states of the most educated people are all blue states. And bottom 10 states of the most UNeducated people are all red. But miraculously literally the richest man in the 🇺🇸 and one of the most intelligent is red. I’ve yet to find one of these blue “ educated geniuses “ to explain it. They’re ALL on default programming mocking their word salad leaders saying “ But Trump, But Trump…. “

I spend as much time picking up trash as I do enjoying the natural beauty. The traffic is unpredictable and sometimes chaotic, if not just dangerous. The other thing is the state is run by the worst sort of older people. The ones with stick up their tails; the ones who never evolved past the 50s. They're negative against everything, and it gets old. The last thing that drives me nuts about this state, is it's natural environment. It looks beautiful, but if you know the truth, it's quite unhealthy. The ones in charge of the state down right cut back or neglect things that are vital in the eco system man disrupts. We have horrid algae blooms, and in many places the water is so foul dead species of all sorts appear daily. There's many years of work needed to repair the neglect. It's way too expensive for young people in FL, especially in the South Florida area. People making in the mid-60's (for example) there are having to pay almost $2k rent for a somewhat decent 1 - bedroom apartment, the price of which only increases when it's time to renew the lease. That's approaching almost (if not exactly for some people) 50% of their annual income, which, in better times, would have easily gotten you a 1 or even 2 - bedroom apartment with room left over to actually save for a downpayment on a future home or whatever else. I can't imagine what it's like for people who make less. Things need to change and sooner rather than later. Where are the politicians?!?

In South Florida, the average price for a new home starts at $750,000 to $1 million. Who can afford that, especially with rising property taxes and home insurance? Bad Traffic and impatient drivers who drive like crash dummies. If I could leave, I would. The only people who can enjoy the heart of Florida are the rich folks.

lol "driving like a crash dummy" is incredibly funny and accurate. Especially if you watch the IIHS videos

Im leaving, and i have an entire 2 story studio wityh multiple sets for videography and photography. people dream of these opportunities, but im only able to make rent. if a car breaks down, or my equipment gets damaged im screwed. If 1 too many clients reschedule or cancel, im screwed. theres no safety net. literally paycheck to paycheck, good months make up for the slow months, but theres been more slow months than good months lately. it aint worth it. im ending all my leases. Ive worked with love and hip hop, trick daddy, and others, so it isnt my work ethic. Miami just too expensive for me to survive right now.

My whole family just moved 4 months ago. I’m leaving in 2025 due to the traffic and insane drivers from out of state, garbage thrown on the streets, going to stores and no one speaking English including employers and employees. If I wanted to hear Spanish I’d go to Puerto Rico or Mexico.

I remember about 5yrs ago my nephews were looking for jobs after highschool but most places wanted them to speak both Spanish and English or just Spanish which is crazy as heck.

Florida can keep wages low and rent high because wealthy retirees come here and buy up all the housing. Apartments get rented and homes sold even if the people working here can't afford them. The people who serve your food, mow your lawn or fix your home are forced to live with several families in a small apartment or in tents hidden in undeveloped lots.

Part of living in ‘paradise’ is being prepared accordingly for anything. If you’re going to move to FL make sure when hurricane season is over you stock up on supplies like sand, generators, food and water so that you don’t get left behind and panic buy when the hurricane is less than 3 hrs out and get caught in it. You have about 9 months out of the year to do all that, that’s plenty of time. Also be sure that when you move, you don’t move into a flood zone. Also, get familiar with your neighbors as they can help you in times of need just remember to repay the favor. Remember, there’s plenty of ways to make a living in FL that’s not waiting tables or flipping burgers or stocking at your local Walmart or Publix.

Unless you’re rich, there’s no reason to move to Florida. The pay is trash for the average worker. The politicians who are bought and paid for by big businesses don’t believe in livable wages.

Left south florida for texas 6 months ago. 50% salary increase for the same job in engineering and 60% of the rent I would be paying for in florida. I love my tropical paradise but the only way I'm every going back is if I'm a millionaire. Californian and new yorkers remote workers and wealthy tax evaders have made it impossible for locals to afford a life in any of the major cities. All it takes is for it to become a blue state in a decade or so and it will be california all over again.

@@EliasZea-y9w People keep saying FL will become a blue state - what does that mean? Because of the increased price of living or urban sprawl? It definitely doesn’t have the political leanings of a blue state from my observation (except a few cities here and there) 👀
