Meanwhile, Lego Land's "Lego City Deep Sea Adventure" is an actual submarine ride. It's apparently the first of it's kind, being underwater in a 350,000 Gallon Aquarium with possibly 2000 different sea creatures including sting rays and sharks. It basically blew SeaWorld's ride out of the water (not like it was IN the water to begin with).

I completely agree that this should have been a dark ride or they should have spent more time giving you more things to see as you move around the track. The ride vehicle looks cool though and reminds me of the vehicle used in Tokyo Disneyseas's "Journey to the Center of the Earth". Its trying to be a peoplemover but its not long enough to be like that but its not a dark ride because you built it above ground. I have no idea what they were thinking designing this.

I honestly thought this ride was going to be completely enclosed and it was going to mimic being underwater with cool effects, animatronics, and even some live animal tanks. Evidently, Disney has set my expectations too high for other parks, because this is garbage. If it's not going to have all the bells and whistles of an interactive dark ride, at least make the scenery more immersive.

Looking at present day videos of this park makes me sad. There's a sadness about this place. It used to feel so full of life. I remember driving by on the freeway about a year ago. It just felt so gloomy. And this ride! I was expecting it to do underwater or inside a cool underwater situation, dark ride style. As soon at that door opened and I could see park, I almost laughed! What a wasted opportunity. It's like something out of those classic Simpson's episodes when they would visit an amusement park. Those terrible sound effects. Like something out of an 80's sci fi movie. I'm not surprised that I never see the park crowded in any of these videos.

As a child, I remembered loving Sea World. I always was so excited to go there. When I saw a new ride, I expected a lot more when I clicked on this video, and was even waiting for more, when they initially went outside, at the beginning of the ride, thinking, "Oh, they'll just move into another area inside... I was so wrong... and then I remembered why I stopped caring about Sea World all together in the first place... sad to see them degrade so far...

This would have been the easiest thing to put in a small warehouse with flat painted blacklight scenery with minimal motion and ripple water effect light and some fog haze and bubble machines. Have a couple of levels and the vehicles could travel through the same three vertically elaborate rooms a couple times at different depths. Maybe have the queue travel up some ramps to a load platform on the upper level so the ride actually travels "down" into the water? There's an indoor blacklight mini golf in the mall near me that has a more impressive "under the sea" room. They could have just made this a scenic elevated train around SeaWorld (like the people mover) with some interaction with existing attractions and a few indoor set pieces and information about sea life on the screens.

This would've been better even pulled inside out. Put the game on a boat ride going past a few aquariums and landscaping like that found in the queue and build the queue as sky platforms above the boating area. At least then you might pull off some semi decent "augmented reality" moments or whatever. A skyride is the complete opposite of what one thinks of with a submarine.

The ride is pretty much living on that tablet in the cars... How would they not see anything wrong with this? even if they covered just the outside track in enclosed tunnels they could have added more elements to the ride throughout the tunnels. They could have had water projectors illuminating the entire insides like you are traveling through the ocean like worm holes through the ocean or something... to different parts of the ocean. So many possibilities that wouldn't require a huge budget out of the norm for amusement parks...

As a person who defended both Battle for Metropolis and Voyage to the Iron Reef, both seemingly cheap attractions, I think this is just downright god awful. At least the two attractions I mentioned above at least tried to make an experience, although Iron Reef didn't see as much success as Battle for Metropolis, but they both look superior than this would ever be.

What the heck, which area of the park is this located?? It's only been about 6 months since I've been. When did this open??
