I altered a Revell Titanic with balsa bulkheads weighted with lead when I was a kid. It was designed to sink. This was 1993 or 4. It worked great as I tested the theory and process in our bathtub. I tied a string on the front so I could sink it in my local pond and then pull it back up. One day, when I got bored and a little older, I decided to disconnect the string and just let it go. Somewhere in Westland, MI, USA there's a model of the Titanic laying at the bottom of the pond, sunk by a 16 year old me, 30 years ago. I still think about it. I also began by exploring the concept with a styrofoam egg carton laden with marbles as ballast. Good stuff. :) Thanks for sharing.

I bought this last Sunday and it was delivered on Thursday!! I’m giving it to my son for this 7th birthday and his big party (Titanic themed party) is tomorrow. He has wanted the original for 2 years and with those eBay prices, it was never going to happen. I reached out as a last resort to ask for advice on Reddit and someone kindly shared with me this new model developed by Titanic Dream. I could NOT purchase it fast enough. I can’t wait to see his expression when he opens it tomorrow. Titanic Dream has/will make our son’s dream a reality and this loving mom could not be more thrilled than I am right now. It makes me emotional just typing this because I know how bad he has wanted the original and I am so extremely grateful someone created this. I hope their business soars! Much love Titanic Dream!!! I will email you some photos after the party tomorrow of him with his ship! The surprise can’t get here soon enough!

I stumbled across Sam’s videos after searching something titanic related after rewatching the movie. I have always been so intrigued by the titanic disaster growing up. After discovering Sam’s channel here, I started to discover just how many other extremely interesting things from history related to ships/shipwrecks. Discovering this channel has led me down a rabbit hole of such amazing history that I didnt even know about. So Sam, thank you kindly for what you do and how you do it.

I am so glad that a company has decided to bring this model back. Throughout my childhood, I had done so much research on this ship and I was fortunate enough to see the actual artifacts from the wreck itself in person when it was on tour in Oklahoma. I have been wanting one of these models for a couple of years now, but like you, I didn’t want to pay such high prices. Thank you for sharing this video with everyone.

You tell me new things about the Titanic which I never knew and talk about parts of the Titanic story which I never see discussed. I appreciate you probably have a lot of video ideas to work on already but I have a video idea for you. I would love it if you made a video discussing the dogs on board the Titanic (I love animals, haha). You could discuss the kennel on board the ship, which passengers brought dogs on board, how they were treated, the planned dog show for Monday 15th April and the ultimate fate of the dogs. You could also discuss the myth of Rigel the big black Newfoundland dog and give your views on it. Great video as always!

It’s something I’ve thought of for a while, never seen or heard it in any of the accounts of that fateful night. I’m delighted to see a sinking, break-up model of the Titanic back in the market. Like many I had one. And like many I didn’t really appreciate it as anything more than a novelty. I think I gave mine along with a stack of Titanic books to an acquaintance. I shrug my shoulders today at the astronomical prices sellers command for things that ended up on the clearance shelves at Barnes and Noble two decades ago. I wonder if anyone will (or already has) made some kind of elaborate sinking Titanic that breaks into multiple parts? Just imagine the fascination and frustration of such a model. This reincarnation of the turn of the millennium model is perfect as-is.

Sam i understand your pain of not finding your titanic model. I had an 3 feet long USS Enterprise (the nuclear one CV-69). I search it for years. I was playing with it in a lac as a kid but it was for an pool. The wave were getting it. It was usually fine as it had 3 compartment but it had a small hole in the division between the 1st and 2nd compartment to pass wire if we wanted to had a small engine to it.I now belie I let it in the water as a kid, it drift away and sunk. I even try to find the wreck. After nearly 8 years I gave up the search. I should have plug the hole as it could stay a float with one compartment fill up but not 2. I make it sink a lot of time were i could recover it. It would usually raise to around 60 degree angle before going down. I lost 2 of my ship and boat toys to that lac. I also sunk an pedal-boat at about 6 years old in the same lac. I was alone in it at about 700 meter form the dock when I lost the rudder. (Yes I know questionable parenting here) the distance is an estimation but i try measuring it with google so it should be about right. The water started to go in by the hole were the rudder was and the boat sank. Hopefully as a kid i was a good swimmer. I remember my dad reaction when I came back swimming with out the boat. WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET KID 700 meter swim is a long ways for a 6 years old.
