This Salt 8k is real. It's the most expensive and efficient amplifier that I have ever bought. Going into my 2021 Frontier Crew Cab with 2)ZV6 10"S @ 1ohm. Every speaker in the truck was already swapped out with SKAR TX series the day after purchasing the truck. Now I have all SA series components to swap before the Salt 500.4 goes in. Thanks for taking the time to post this and the rest of the unofficial videos. After 3-4 years just watching inventory movement I rolled the dice and landed on snake eyes 👀. 👀 I got one of the Salt 8ks that Derrick Haddock personally played with. Agreed!! I notice the massive increase in heatsink surface area which suggests MUCH beefier mosfet being employed. Perhaps the same insane FETS that the brazilian amps are using.

What IC chips yall using on the driver card? The IR21844s or something else? Hopefully also using a decent set of buffer transistors betqeen the IC and the output fets as well. (Im repairing a hifonics Golaith 5kW that did NOT employ any buffer transistors at all....so of course all the IR21844s ICs smoked when the output side died....lol)

@@SacredTanakh regardless they should be able to give us a basic brief on the design - I doubt they took it on faith so they would want a full rundown on its design and manufacturing process. It is carrying their name. I know I would damn sure want to know it. I also suspect they had to make choices along the way - I know when ever I had something built for my company back when I was a project manager for a broadcast network we did a full design review. Especially when millions are involved.

Buy Orion amplifiers price and power their is no comparison check out videos on KZbin power outputs on car amplifiers price is better to and no problems with warranty either Orion stands behind their products and they take care of you no problems on that end . Down for sound is a good place to buy but not on the amplifiers orion all day long for composition power . I'm saying no fucking contest.

Chargers were running. He did mention that. By the time the Dyno had started, the voltage had gone up to 15.2 & then you can watch it drop as the test runs.

You'll see voltage spikes like this in cars sometimes if the regulator on the alternator isn't keeping up with the massive changes in voltage. The amp draws hard pulling the voltage down, the alternator pushes hard as fuck to compensate, and just as it does the note on the amp stops playing lol..

Ok sundown people, I need some feedback. I'm an old school rockford man from the very early 90s. I just finished my 16 year old sons first system in a nissan titan. This was my first experience with sundown and so far am pleased with it. He has 3 sundown e15 d2 subs on a sundown sax 1200d at 1.3 ohms. We did the big three, optima battery, and rockford 10 farad cap and all 0 gauge ofc. What is a realistic power number he should get. NC born and raised.

I have a 2021Nissan Frontier. The only way to get my Alternator too charge is to turn on the wipers. I get set point 13.5 with 3 Titan 8 batteries and 3 500Farad D4S cap banks and a 250amp JSALTERNATOR . I went with a Salt 8k, Salt 500.4,and Salt 200.4. All SA components in stock locations with the tweeters added into the door panels

Nice to see apparently the amp has a built in limiting circuitry. 👍 Dynamic is relevant as it's an indicator of an amplifiers headroom but it's not a number to go by when buying an amp. Will there be matching multi channels ? Does SALT have any special meaning ?

People with a low power supply won't get 11k. He is running double inputs with a good power supply maximizes the potential of the amp. Some people won't want to spend what it takes to make 11k from an 8k amp.

8k @ 12V. This was the industry standard back in late 90's early 00's. Every reputable brand rated amps @ 12-12.6V bc that's where people were running. I had a 160A HO alt back in 2000 and that wasn't typical.

Why do you set the amp dyno where it’s distorted then turn the input sensitivity ( gain ) another +9 dB? I ask because you are testing with tones not music, I could see a “ gain overlap “ with music if I understand the concept correctly.. thanks

The gain overlap is for adding gain after using a -0db tone.. So you added 9 dB Of gain ..
