I think Brink would’ve been great if they had just added ANY dedicated versus mode. LITERALLY ANY. Classes/Body Types had decent balance, level design actually had verticality and flanking routes, weapons were different from each other and had roles to play; it HAD potential.

It’s gameplay is slow and boring, environments dull, incredibly poorly designed boss fights, Dante that has the personality of drying paint on the wall, the gameplay is considerably worse, the enemies are a bunch of nothing. Etc. Still though, best Dante design and that’s it.

I have the reverse kind of thing with the original God of War. I found that game to be terrible in terms of game design, level design, and combat. But in my case I can actually point out what the flaws are and why they are bad and most times people can't refute it, especially that trash pile of level design that was the Hades Trials.

C24U i got stuck for hours on some fucking balance beams and I hated it so much because the game kept offering me easy combat mode because I was dying to some fucking 3d platforming/trap/balance beam sections. And years later it inspired sens fortress where I spent severl DAYS being gleefully frustrated at basically the same stuff. Games are wierd

and I know exactly why you died on those balance beams. It's because the "Amazing" camera design was completely screwed up for that part. When your on the beams its static and fine and moves in 4 directions (Up down left right) from an overhead view but the second you approach a ledge the camera jerks and rotates while you're still on the beam and in a game where your movement direction is dictated where the fucking camera is it causes you to run off the ledges you can't climb back up on and die DESPITE the area below being the base of the Hades trials which is a completely safe area and the height you're falling from isn't even as high as the drops you can do in the city area because the fucking level designers couldn't be bothered to code the game so that the lower area stayed loaded in some form so instead they just made it a kill wall!

RippahRooJizah I agree. Story barely makes any sense, it's baffling they even made it a PE game. I honestly don't even consider it to be a part of the canon. But other than that - characters are cool (except Maeda), graphically it looks absolutely fucking stunning and runs smooth as heck. And the gameplay is sooo gooood. Later levels are kinda imbalanced, yeah, but the core shooting and body switching? I love that. It's incredible how well it plays on a fucking PSP. Someone needs to take that idea and make a 'good' game out of it, for real.

Melchiorsmith DMC2 was the first DMC game I ever played. I used to go over to my friends house and we would play it all day. Its the reason I know about the series and the reason I bought DMC3 years later... going back and playing it is mind boggling because its so... mediocre. I dont think its an explicitily BAD game in its own context (when it came out and the state of the industry then) but compared to the better tone of the first game and the perfected gameplay of the 3rd game it just doesn't shine.

So his a smart and a bad boy who doesn't just get to the point and 1 his navie guy who want to put it in a shape shifter that looks like his momma and then 4 his mystery asshole to his newph ( who he could have easily pull to the side and explained then killed the church guy or explained to him any time after that first meeting) and 2 his finally doesn't have a living weapon he dosen't get a living weapon that thinks his cool enough to use them.the moment these weapons disappear without explanation like bayonetta who broke all the weapons during climax moment i hated dante, because they still alive . and the moment i found out his dodge sucked and most of the enemies are reskins of the old enemies the evil group shouldn't have useless puppets as grunts

There is no accounting for taste so you enjoying playing dmc2 more than the god of war games means nothing. It's obvious that the game has alot of notoriety cause it didn't improve on the gameplay of DMC 1 and actually made it worse for alot of people. Just cause you feel differently doesn't mean that everyone else is automatically invalidated for feeling how they feel about the game, especially when there are tangible reasons that people don't like it.
