I think there is a pattern, It's might be a bit random at first, but near the end has many more 10-coin blocks. On the last row of credits, every letter block is a 10-coin block.

Hold on. I just noticed something. The only times in the entire game where Bowser Jr. wears his bandana is during the begining cutscene and the credit cutscene, and those two scenes also happen to be the only times where you see Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings in the same screen together... Does anyone find that odd? That Bowser Jr. hides his face when he's around his siblings? Seems pretty coincidental to me. Does he have a problem with the Koopalings? Makes you wonder...

Er... credits sequences are not pointless. They exist in order to give credit to the people associated with creating the game you just finished. It's only fair to show how much work was put into the product. What Nintendo allows you to do during the credits, however, is something that isn't too new. I mean, look at Super Monkey Ball for example.
