I like that Suzuki is doing it's own thing, making their bike as simple and accessible as possible. Some rider demand the latest and greatest gadget from their bike, arguing 'come on, it's year 20XX yada yada'. In our current world now, where everything is too expensive, too complicated, bike like these is like a breath of a fresh air.

Most accurate statement ever! I’ve owned a Vstrom DL1000 and 2 hayabusas. Just bought a 2023 gsx s1000 all black. Best street bike I have ever owned. Money wasn’t an issue. In fact I was going to get a superduke as I race ktm on dirt. But all the tech which I’d never use, reliability issues and the price tag turned me off. I wanted a naked and out of all the options I got the gsx. At 6’3 most other naked bikes felt cramped but the gsx fits me perfect. The nimble feel , power and connectivity to the road is world class. Everyone else is focusing on tech and new and improved which ends up being in the shop more than the road. I wanted simple, reliable, powerful and fun and the gsx is the perfect bike. The price allows me to get full exhaust, ecu flash/tune (as if 152hp isn’t enough) and customize it my way. Wtg Suzuki!!!

Well done Suzuki! Some of us know this bike contains one of the most legendary 1L four cylinder engines ever made. K5-K8 long-stroke burly beast. Yes in stock form most everything these days is kind of finicky and muted thanks to emissions regs pushing air-fuel ratios dangerously lean. But this K5 engine really snarls with a unique note when you pop on a catless full pipe, uncork the ECU and see what it's made of. It's reliable as a stone axe. It's been turbocharged, modified, bore/stroked, nitrous oxided, and tuned within an inch of its life and it holds up. Moore Mafia pushed one to 700 horsepower for dragracing. The Stuntfreaks Team KZbin channel has pounded the crap out of a K5, drowned it in a cold lake, bounced off rev-limiter mercilessly, put it in snowmobiles, big dirtbikes, run it dead of winter, in the summer, crashed it numerous times, and it just keeps going without mechanical or electrical issues. Some of us like to sling a leg over a powerful naked bike, know it's always going to start, provide plenty of poke, feel solid and well built, know there's dealership support all over the place, and not look at valves or shims for over 20,000 miles. It's going to shift, run, behave reliably all of the time. Sometimes the "new hotness" from Italy or Bavaria or Austria just drives up the dollar value into crazy levels of stupid and how many more percentage points of the motorcycle experience do they provide for double the price? Props for going to 5-gallon tank. One thing I would have really liked, a cruise control.

I got a 2016 Triton Blue naked GSXS. Still love it 5 years later. All the performance you need for street bike as well as comfort and reliability. Got mine brand new for $8500 otd. It ain't a fashion model, but its a fantastic motorcycle for the price. Once you take the throttle restrictions out of the ECU, it rips on top. From 8k to 11.5 it pulls stupid hard yet has ample torque everywhere. The stock front pads were Brembos and had rather soft initial bite. A set of SBS RS brake pads transformed the front brake. Strong and progressive. Bites as hard as you want but not grabby. I have EBC HH's on my other bike, and find the SBS pads to be stronger, smoother and quieter.

Suzuki motorcycles are incredibly underrated bikes. Look at this one, 150bhp, good handling, good brakes, good fun and a fat wodge of cash in your pocket! It always surprised me how Suzuki is actually perceived. I am the 1st owner of Suzuki SMX 50 2002. It's a 2stroke 50 ccm bike, with 6 gears, and its own power generator. WIch means you have no battery, but you still have lights and indicators. It even has it's own oil reservouir so it lubues itself [old 2strokes were run on mix oil to petrol 1:50. The only issue is that the Neutral and Oil are somehow linked, and shouldn't be. But they work in a funny way since always, but it just gives her character :) Still got it - over these years and 14k km the only things i had to change were the steering head bearing, rear sprocket and 2 chains [but i broke the 1st, cuz i was trying to learn wheelies :D]. Then had GSR 600, but sold her - i miss that bike :)

I once owned a 1981 model GSX750 in 1994 and was my first inline 4 the bike the shop sold it to me for $250 as it would start rev to the moon and not go with a leg over it... long story short it was a drag engine that had been ported non standard cams and the clutch had been beefed up but some one had put the old standard carburetors back on? it was way too lean. I finally got it run great with 1.8mm! main gets and my god it was quick up to 180kph nothing matched it out of a green light... it made a fool of many and even my mates YZF1000 till about 3rd gear then everyone would scream past still in 1st... lol I had that bike for years and it never gave me any trouble for all the work it did unlike my RZ 250 or the XR 350.

@chrisnorthover75823 жыл бұрын
I think it's an OE pad thing - suppliers like Brembo, Nissin etc will often have to make pads that meet a manufacturer's standard for performance which will include mileage among other things, all while coming in at a price which gets them the contract. Hence it's so noticeable when you put in an aftermarket pad that's designed for performance.

The OEM Dunlop D214’s require a considerable amount of rider input to initiate steering yet, they’re extremely confident mid corner. Too bad my set lasted only 2600 miles at my road pace. The D214’s are not great in wet conditions either. The D214’s are a full lb lighter in rotating mass yet….I had quicker steering changes with the different tires listed below (Dunlop Roadsmart III’s)….I also experienced less unintended aggressive wheelie’s with the RS III’s. So, after two sets of OEM D214’s, the Dunlop Roadsmart III’s require considerably less input for direction changes. The wet weather performance is superior to the D214’s yet, they don’t seem as confident at full lean under acceleration. The RS III’s easily last 300% the mileage of the D214’s yet, take a tad longer to break in. (Due to the triple compound construction)

That should be the style and design of super muscle naked, meant for fun, easy and happy riding, daily use in towns and cities along the winding conering hilly roads. I own a DRZ400E and GSXR 750 and both bikes have not been changed by Suzuki for years. Both are as reliable as your Mum and are as solid as a tank. Ys, I could buy a new fandangled Euro bike but don't think that I could deal with the impending problems.

For many, part of the experience with being a motorcyclist is having a bike you adore. A bike that compels complete strangers to shower you with praise in the supermarket car park and give your significant other cause for concern when you’re again, caught sitting in the garage alone, staring at your machine. Subjectively speaking, the bike reviewed here wouldn’t qualify for any of the above situations.
