Also worth noting, in case you guys missed it while absorbing all these new rules, is that 'Proving Grounds' says that the person going second in the battle round "can" choose to make one objective the proving ground, not "must", so it is optional and you can save it for later to do tacticool things.

Great battle rep ty ! With so many good options for sylvaneth now , I feel like the tree lord ancient is not worth bringing anymore. I cant wait to throw down some models and try the new book myself! Been thinking about bringing in an ally unit of Vigilors for the plus one to hit against w.e they hit, the Arch rev for the plus one to wounds bubble and plus one to attacks command ability . 6 bow boys ( 2 attacks each at 2s and 2s -1 rend 2 dmg with all out attack and the vigilors ability), 6 scythes ( 4 attacks each at 2s and 2s -3 rend 2 dmg with the arch rev command ability and bubble. Hopefully it works out.

Nope. It was dropped from 28.1.3 in 3E, so RAW they do nothing but benefit Sylvaneth abilities. They might FAQ it.

Been a while since I watched a batrep from this channel, but these guys seem really well versed in rules compared to earlier, good bat rep! Building sylvaneth right now. Bow hunters seem a bit underwhelming. Imagine if one of the scythe units had been a 6 model unit. I also think you can use the gossamids a bit more aggressive. Just park them in front of a melee unit and slow it down as they’ll fly away in combat. TLA is weird, in that he really doesn’t cast or dmg much, but the that once pr game woods can be game changing. Two endless spells may be over the top with so few casters. Thanks for showcasing so many cool things!

You can’t teleport to a terrain feature that has enemies within 3” of it, similar to gnawholes.

Nope. Immediately after a Sylvaneth unit fights, if they are wholly within 9" of either an overgrown terrain feature, or friendly Awakened Wyldwood, you can remove them from the table, and set it up again more than 9" from all enemy units, and wholly within 9" of another overgrown terrain feature, or wyldwood. If enemies close to the terrain feature prevented this, it would be all but useless in combat, as they enemy would almost always be close enough.

I used it in my first game of this season to test it out, it ate Sigvald and two other foot heroes from my opponents army. Was very much a "yep that didn't feel fun.. not using that again unless someone is running a brutal list against me". EDIT: I believe only Kragnos and Mega Gargants have rules to get around instant slain effects.

to be fair, New sylvaneth are very hard to play. You really need to math out the dmg of your army, else exactly that happens: You do A LOT with NO IMPACT

Unless i read the rules wrong, the blighkings can not have a blightlord in the unit if the are galletian veterans because then one model in the unit will have 5 wounds. Which means they also can not issue commands to themselves

The unit still has a wounds characteristic of 4 so they would get Galletian Veterans, unless there has been some FAQ I missed about how that one model having a different wounds characteristic effects things. IIRC there was some clarification that the characteristic of the majority of the models currently in the units determines the characteristic of the unit for interacting with rules, and failing that I believe the warscroll lists the wounds characteristic as 4 so they should be good.

Yeah Durthu without the Gladius is not worth it ino. Give it to him for the d3 extra attacks on his 6 damage sword and he slaps. TLA is only really worth if you're combing off the woods he provides for free, ie by warsong spellbombing. Otherwise its a dead 360pts as shown here.

Personally, I think that there are too many overgrown terrain features on these maps for MWG studios when it comes to the Sylvaneth games. The terrain gives a large advantage. Of course, Luka's insane rolls don't really show it.

The quantitiy of overgrown terrain is determined by the Sylvaneth rules. There are always 3 terrain pieces, that the sylvaneth player can choose to be overgrown.
